Night Force Returns

I am a big fan of the original Night Force so seeing that a new series is coming out from DC Comics in 2012 is really exciting news. Baron Winters is back with a new look as he puts together a new group. Marv Wolfman is back as writer and Tom Mandrake is the artist. You can read a five page review here.

Marvel Tales #230, 231 and 232

Todd McFarlane did cover art for these three issues. Marvel Tales #230 (Mid November 1989) contains the story titled "Bewitched, Bothered and Be-Dazzled" written by Marv Wolfman. Spider-Man teams up with Dazzler against Lightmaster. Spider-Ham is featured in a backup story titled "Cult of Dolts" written by Danny Fingeroth.

Marvel Tales #231 (December 1989) features "Something This Way Wicked Kills!" written by David Michelinie. Spider-Man teams up with Paladin against Thermo, a scientist gone mad after a lab accident (this seems to happen a lot in the Marvel Universe).

Spider-Man teams up with Dazzler and Paladin in Marvel Tales #232 (Mid December 1989) in a story titled "Critical Mass" written by Dave Kraft. The trio fights Thermo, who takes over the leadership of a cult.

Halloween Countdown 2099 Day 16: Night Force

I only have four issues of Night Force from DC Comics in my collection, which just happens to be the first two issues and the last two issues. The covers of Night Force #1 (August 1982) and #2 (September 1982) were done by Gene Colan and Dick Giordano while Gene did #13 (August 1983) and #14 (September 1983). Marv Wolfman was the writer and editor of this horror comic series. The first issue was titled "The Summoning, Chapter One: Genesis" while the second issue was "The Summoning, Chapter Two: The Burning Hand". Night Force #13's story was titled "Mark of the Beast Part 3: Past Tense" while #14 was titled "The Final Conflict".
