I managed to get two DC Comics Ooshies Shazam pencil toppers with my second batch. His white hood is up on his head but I would have prefered him without it. I also would have prefered him to be called Captain Marvel or even Captain.

Blog Alert: Jon's Random Acts of Geekery Is Back

Yes, Jon's Random Acts of Geekery is officially back today with a cool new magazine-style look. Articles include an amazing collection of Krypto items, a complete Golden Age tale from Mister Mystery #10, monster stuff featuring the Groovie Goolies, a Wheaties giveaway comic featuring Captain Marvel, a look at TV's The Land of the Giants, and an essay on the Fantastic Four. There's so much that I haven't read everything yet.

Convergence #6

The cover of Convergence #6 (July 2015) features Deimos, Ultraman and Gorilla Grodd along with Flashpoint versions of Aquaman, Wonder Woman and Shazam:

There is so much going on in this issue that I won't even try to cover everything. One of the best scenes includes the young Jay Garrick aka the Flash of Earth 2 meeting Barry Allen aka the Flash. Superman talks Dick Grayson of Earth 2 into trying to get Telos to fight with them against Deimos. He agrees and then they find out that Deimos has gathered his own army. You really need a score card to keep track of who's who in this issue.

Convergence: Justice League International #1

Convergence: Justice League International #1 (June 2015) has a nice cover:

Metallo is walking down a street of the pre-zero hour Metropolis causing destruction to the city along with his drones. The Justice League International shows up to kick their butt. Blue Beetle introduces them more like the Justice League Metropolis since they have been trapped under the dome for a year. This team includes Blue Beetle, Red Tornado, Martian Manhunter, Captain Atom, Fire and Ice.

The dome rises and they get their powers back just in time for the Kingdom Come Justice League shows up. This team consists of Wonder Woman, Shazam (I guess he's no longer Captain Marvel in that alternate universe either), Obsidian, Nightstar, Jade, Huntress, Creeper and Blue Beetle.

Dwayne Johnson Set To Play Black Adam In Shazam Movie

According to Dwayne Johnson to Play Black Adam in Shazam!, he had the choice to play either the heroic Captain Marvel, who is now known as Shazam, or the villainous Black Adam. I think he choose wisely.

Justice League Movie Gets Director

Wow, Zack Snyder To Direct JUSTICE LEAGUE, More DC Films In Development Named states that the Superman vs. Batman film will lead into the Justice League movie. Other DC Comics/Vertigo Comics adaptions in development includes Shazam, Metal Men, 100 Bullets, and Fables.

Shazam's Costume Revealed

DC Universe's New York Post Reveals the First Look of Shazam posted this picture of the superhero formerly known as Captain Marvel:

I think I threw up a little in my mouth. Why is Captain Marvel...er, Shazam wearing a white with gold trim hooded cape? Does he really need to hide his face like that? I am hoping that he does not wear the hood all of the time. I kind of like the metallic wristbands, belt and boots.

Captain Marvel No More

Captain Marvel from DC Comics will be renamed Shazam according to Newsarama's Exclusive: GEOFF JOHNS Hopes Lightning Strikes SHAZAM! I am a little saddened by the name change. Too bad that Captain Thunder was not used instead.
