Edge Of Sanity - Nothing But Death Remains

Genre: Death
Country: Sweden
Year: 1991

1. Tales...
2. Human Aberration
3. Maze Of Existence
4. The Dead
5. Decepted By The Cross
6. Angel Of Distress
7. Impulsive Necroplasma
8. Immortal Souls

Edge of Sanity's debut doesn't exactly stand out as a landmark of death metal. The music itself varies from mid-paced to fast thrashy death metal, with the occasional melodic leads thrown in. The blast beat barrages oscillate with slow, doomy marches and generally the progressiveness of later albums lacks.

Debut album by Freddy Krueger's Underwear. The 22-track mosher showed the world that it’s still possible to have good, friendly, violent fun. Featuring a huge and crushing production job, catchy neck-breaking riffs, tons of sing-a-long lyrics and a great love for all of the classic horror icons (Freddy, Leatherface, Jason, Frank Zito, Pinhead, Michael Myers), it is an album that is worth playing over and over again.

Evildead - Annihilation Of Civilization

Genre: Thrash
Country: U.S.A.
Year: 1989

1. F.C.I. / The Awakening
2. Annihilation Of Civilization
3. Living Good
4. Future Shock
5. Holy Trials
6. Gone Shooting
7. Parricide
8. Unauthorized Exploitation
9. B.O.H.I.C.A

Debut album by Evildead. Upon the release of it, their sound was notably more fresh than that of most other bands of the time. There is simply no fluff or flashy gimmicks in these songs and the vocals have a slight hardcorish edge which adds to the concise feel of the music. Great, pure thrash metal is what it delivers in a splendid way, with the guitar attacks of Garcia and Gonzalez, that work extremely well together.

Dark Angel - We Have Arrived

Genre: Thrash
Country: U.S.A.
Year: 1984

1. We Have Arrived
2. Merciless Death
3. Falling From The Sky
4. Welcome To The Slaughter House
5. No Tomorrow
6. Hell's On Its Knees
7. Vendetta

There are actually many good points in Dark Angel's debut even though the album as a whole is not exactly a masterpiece. For such an early recording, the production is very decent and clear. The band had all the right elements in the beginning, including some tight and fast playing, powerful riffs and a good deal of aggressive attitude. Don Doty's powerful vocals also fit the raw sound very well.
