2. Apocalyptic Revelations
3. Golem
4. Germanophobe
5. Protector Of Death
6. Operation Plaga Extrema
7. Megalomania
8. Only The Strong Survive
9. Omnipresent Aggression
10. Space Cake

Debut album by Protector. The band continued in the vein of 'Misanthropy' 'Ep, being a collection of the heaviest thrash metal with some genuine fast riffs and low growling vocals that often border on death metal. They did a brilliant job of structuring their music and showed some stellar songwriting skills.

Nuclear Assault - Out Of Order

Genre: Thrash
Country: U.S.A.
Year: 1991

1. Sign In Blood
2. Fashion Junkie
3. Too Young To Die
4. Preaching To The Deaf
5. Resurrection
6. Stop Wait Think
7. Doctor Butcher
8. Quocustodiat
9. Hypocrisy
10. Save The Planet
11. Ballroom Blitz (Sweet cover)

4th album by Nuclear Assault and last one with their original lineup. It saw the band experiment with slower tempos and songwriting styles, which they hadn’t tried before for their last album together, which had mixed results and a mixed critical reaction at the time. The album doesn’t contain any comedy moments and doesn’t contain any brief extreme hardcore punk tracks, both of which had been at least part of the band’s appeal.

Angelus Apatrida - Clockwork

Genre: Thrash
Country: Spain
Year: 2010

1. The Manhattan Project
2. Blast Off
3. Of Men And Tyrants
4. Clockwork

8. Get Out Of My Way
9. My Insanity
10. One Side One War
11. Into The Storm
12. National Disgrace

3rd album by Angelus Apatrida. The band takes a direct and obvious influence from the older releases of thrash legends like Exodus and Testament and puts their own modernized spin on the sound. They’re not trying to live the '80s, but instead update that sound into something heavy as hell and relevant to 2010.

Winterfylleth - The Threnody Of Triumph

Genre: Black/Pagan
Country: England
Year: 2012

1. A Thousand Winters
2. The Swart Raven
3. Æfterield-fréon
4. A Memorial
5. The Glorious Plain
6. A Soul Unbound
7. Void Of Light
8. The Fate Of Souls After Death
9. Home Is Behind
10. The Threnody Of Triumph

3rd album by Winterfylleth. Their sound has almost been stripped bare of its folk influence for this album and instead something much bleaker has been set in its place. Along with the blastbeating, the screaming vocals and the sharp guitar riffs, the band has added a lot of atmospheric elements and this spiced things a lot. Melodies that bring a chill to the spine and give a feeling that you are somewhere in an ancient forest.

1st 'Ep, in a scheduled series of 4 'Eps, by Down. It focuses on the band’s heavier influences. According to Anselmo, the sound this time is a kind of tribute to doom heroes like Black Sabbath, Saint Vitus, Witchfinder General and Trouble. Nothing groundbreaking, but solid and entertaining.

Cryptopsy - Cryptopsy

Genre: Techn. Death
Country: Canada
Year: 2012

1. Two-Pound Torch
2. Shag Harbour's Visitors
3. Red-Skinned Scapegoat
4. Damned Draft Dodgers
5. Amputated Enigma
6. The Golden Square Mile
7. Ominous
8. Cleansing The Hosts

7th album by Cryptopsy, this time self released, 4 years after their big fail in metalcore territories. From the start of the album’s first song, you are assaulted with violent tempo shifts, very groovy, oddly-timed riffing and voracious drumming. With 36 minutes of music and an average track length of 4 minutes, we can see that the band has packed in all sorts of goodies into these songs as opposed to writing more filler songs to 'get more time'.

3. Curses Scribed In Gore
4. Crumbling Insanity
5. Legend Of The Lycanthrope
6. Effigies Of Evil
7. Evoken Vulgarity
8. Retribution In Eternity

3rd album by Hooded Menace. The album continues in the same vein of the previous releases of the band. Slow tempo, growling vocals and super-downtuned, heavy as fuck guitars. The album sluggish and somewhat repetitive, making it’s 51-minute runtime an endurance test. But it’s 51 minutes of pure, unrelenting evil. They have capture the old-school sound of the early doom/death bands and stirred it up just enough to make it interesting and new.

Some riffs may be just pure aggression, but some other parts are truly emotional, very melodic and harmonic.

Agalloch - Faustian Echoes 'Ep

Genre: Black
Country: U.S.A.
Year: 2012

1. Faustian Echoes

Great one-song 'Ep by Agalloch. It is based on Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s epic masterpiece 'Faust'. The song is epic even by Agalloch standards, at 21:34 it’s the longest track ever recorded by the band. Musically, here we have black metal with blast eats mixed with acoustic parts, epic melodies, slower parts and generally a great variety.

2 new songs by Massacre, reformed with Rick Rozz and Terry Butler, from the initial line up and Edwin Webb behind the mic and Mike Mazzonetto behind the drum kit. 2 songs of old school death metal with a lot of doom/death moments, but without offering something astonishing or similar to their legendary debut.

3rd album by Bonded By Blood, with major lineup changes. Minus one guitarist and with their main vocalist left, the band lost some of their identity and quality. Right from the beginning, you are pummeled with a seemingly endless number of crunchy, fast, riffs. These riffs aren’t as memorable as those found on the previous albums, though.

12. Slippin' Away
13. Drained

4th album by Hypocrisy. With that album they were a bit more technical, intelligent and mature but always very influenced by the early death metal. A lot of the songs are mid paced and melodic with a lot of guitar harmonies and the keys here add a perfect amount of atmosphere.

4th album by Overkill. This is one of Overkill's more varied albums. The style they started to develop on 'Under The Influence' is here perfected. A core of dark, heavy and violent thrash riffs keeps kicking you in the face, yet remain that melodic touch. The songs are always long and quite complicated in their riffs.

1. Earth: As A Womb
2. Earth: As A Furnace
3. Through The Collapse: Watchers Restrained
4. Through The Collapse: Gentian Truth

Debut album by Altar Of Plagues. White Tomb is 2 parts (split into 4 actual songs) and 50 minutes of organic, ambient black metal. It is heavy as all-out shit, while retaining its wild, but never out of place experimental streak. The production is pretty raw, but never falls into unlistenability.

5. Immortality Passion
6. Nemesis Divina
7. Transcendental Requiem Of Slaves

3rd album by Satyricon. Fast, agressive and epic black metal with a lot of medieval influences as well as some folkish ones. The fast and hateful parts perfectly complements the slower more bombastic or epic parts in a perfect manner.

5. Black
6. Pattern Recognition
7. Antitheist
8. Stake Knife
9. Asuka
10. Burning Tiamat
11. Severence Package

Debut album by Gridlink. Regardless of the length of 'Amber Gray' (almost 12 minutes!!!), this album is massive in terms of sheer quality and extremity. Grind sometimes devolves into a spastic battery of blastbeats and interchangeable riffs, but each track is tight, technical and offers a wealth of sharp, vicious riffs.

5. Passion Of The Weak
6. Winds Of Chains
7. Encountering The Divine
8. Perimortem
9. Plague Of Nations
10. Epos

10th album by Grave. For another album the band is performing slightly-modernized version of old-school/ brutal european death metal, with wildly detuned riffs and gutteral death growls. Although this album may not be innovative, indeed it is very reminiscent of their older stuff; it is still a very solid album.
