The 2nd album by Deschain, was sent to me by the band itself. The band seeks to prove once and for all that the fires of melodic black metal burn as fiercely in America as they do in Europe. And they do it pretty good. 2 long songs of pure melodic black metal in the vein of Wolves In The Throne Room, Agalloch, Enslaved. A perfect blend of melancholic, melodic, hatefull and epic parts. The 1st song it's heavy with a simplistic production giving it a great raw feel. The 2nd one it's a typical Black Sabbath copy sounding very much like 'Lord Of This World' with a few new bits thrown in.

8th album by Anonymus. Great, explossive and in-your-face thrash, that takes influences most from the '80s Bay Area scene, but with more melody. The limits of thrash are many times overtaken and the band often flirts with death metal. The modern production, the great musicianship and the aggressive vocals are making this piece of extreme thrash, a gem of the genre.

Debut album by Repuked. The blend of sonorities is perfectly related to punk and death metal which sometimes verges on the grindcore. The bludgeoning, grotesque atmosphere created here is somewhat unique. Vocals, varying from lower grunts to higher pitches, take care of the puking element of the band, spewing the filth convincingly. Guitars having the main role with their vast, crushing sound, while the effectively battered drums are rather simple.

After two demos (published respectively in 2008 and 2009), this is the 1st long-term effort by Wyrms. Their music has a black atmospheric and complex, with many changes of mood and atmosphere. The songs are long and often include breaks, changes of tone that aerate the music and make it all very dynamic. Icy, hatefull and in moments epic!
