The snarling vocals and seething tremolo guitars, the grimy, sludgy grooves and oppressively doomy chord progressions are all still present and correct, but there are definitely signs that the group have evolved somewhat since the last time we heard from them.

The vocals are softer and more tuneful and the riffs and leads are a lot more accessible than they used to be. Enjoyable, even if it's not as feral as it used to be.

Debut album by Necrochakal. This is very old school, with some hints of very early Sodom, Destruction and the chaotic Brazilian thrash bands of the same era. It's fast, savage, raw blackened thrash with very little polish and a dark, putrid vibe throughout. The barked vocals are insane and pretty much indecipherable and are the perfect fit for the chaotic music on offer.

Debut album by Eleventh Ray. It is everything you want and expect from the mix of different elements of extreme metal.
