Debut album Cult Of Erinyes, consisting by the members of metalcore band Psalm. Despite their weird parallel activities, Cult Of Erinyes managed to create an impressive black metal record. There's the really fast and brutal black metal stuff in the vein of Emperor, Mayhem, Shining,etc, but there's stuff that sounds more akin to groups like Neurosis or Enslaved at times as well. I really enjoyed the playing and sound of the drums, as well as the icy cold atmosphere.

2nd album by Falls Of Rauros. What the band provides us here is rangy songs of introspective blackish metal full of atmospheric acoustics, delicate, damp moods, distant rasps and the occasional brittle black metal injection. The riffs are all full of emotion and everything is epic as hell. The tracks are pending between calm/melancholic passages and passages that are full of power, without evolving to pure frenzy.

2nd album by Benediction. Barney Greenway has been replaced by Dave Ingram behind the mic. The musicianship is solid, but nothing out of the ordinary. The tone of this album is really what makes it. Downtuned guitars, very good drum sound and Dave Ingram's godly vocals.

Debut album by Alda, a black metal band that falls into the category of 'Cascadian black metal', with other groups like Skagos, Wolves In The Throne Room,etc. Cascade Range is a mountainous region that ranges from southern British Columbia through Washington and Oregon to Northern California and inspires musically all the groups above. So, expect crashing cymbals, blast beats, an odd use of harsh, rasped vocals and in the other hand some atmospheric 'post' elements.
