Orc commander & family pic

Último orco, por ahora... un personaje orco.

Y aquí una foto de familia de mis fuerzas de la oscuridad actuales:

- Tres personajes, incluyendo a Sauron
- Una gran unidad de infantería orca
- Una unidad de infantería de hombres del este
- Dos unidades de jinetes de huargos
- Trolls, una unidad y tres figuras en peanas individuales
- una araña gigante (Ella-laraña?)

En breve pintaré una catapulta, pero necesitaré hacer un pedido a Copplestone... Mientras tanto tengo un montón de árabes de Pendraken (aliados Haradrim)

Trolls! Trolls everywhere!

En la entrada anterior stealthy preguntaba si los trolls de 10mm de Copplestone Castings (CC) podían usarse como trolls de 15mm. Os dejo unas fotos comparando tamaños con figuras de 15mm de Splintered Light Miniatures (SLM).

In a previous post, stealthy asked me if Copplestone Castings (CC) 10mm trolls could be used as 15mm trolls. Ok, here you have some size comparison pics with  15mm Splintered Light Miniatures (SLM).

Otra idea que tuve es usar los ogros de SLM como trolls de 10mm. Ya tenía los trolls de CC, pero al ver las nuevas figuras no me pude resistir... Me recordaban demasiado a una de mis ilustraciones favoritas de Angus Macbride!

Another idea I had is to use SLM armured ogres as 10mm trolls. I already had CC trolls, but I could not resist it when I saw the new SLM figures... They remember me one of my favorite Angus Macbride illustrations!

Mi idea era usar los trolls de CC como trolls de las cavernas y los de SLM como Olog-hai. Al final han resultado ser un poquito más pequeños (más bien los de CC son demasiado grandes), pero intentaré apañarlo elevando la base, porque estas figuras simplemente me encantan!

My idea was to use CC trolls as cave trolls and SLM ogres as Olog-hai. In the end, they have proved to be a little small (rather, the CC ones are too big), but I'll try fix it raising the base, because I just love these figures!

More trolls [10mm LOTR]

He pintado otros tres trolls, pero esta vez los he colocado en una base de 60x30mm, como el resto de unidades. Así puedo desplegarlos individualmente o como unidad pesada.

I´ve painted annother three trolls, but this time I have placed them on a 60x30mm base, as the other units. Now I can deploy them individually or as heavy unit.

Lo siento, las fotos no han salido muy bien. Me quedan otros tres... qué haré con ellos?

La figura es un oficial de los lanceros de la ciudad (Gondor) de Copplestone Castings con una cabeza de rohirrim.

Orcs [10mm LOTR]

Mi primera unidad de orcos de Mordor.

My first Mordor orc unit.

 

He tardado en pintarlos menos de lo que esperaba. A parte de la piel, a la que le he dedicado más tiempo, el resto ha sido ensuciar con tinta y algo de pincel seco.

It took me less time than expected to paint them. Besides the skin, to wich I´ve dedicated some more time, the rest of the paint was done with inks washes and dry brush.

Para representar que las unidades de orcos son hordas la base incluye más figuras que una unidad normal. Además, el tamaño de la peana es de 80x40mm en lugar de 60x40mm.

In order to represent that orc units are hordes, the base includes more figures than a normal unit. Moreover, the size of the base is 80x40mm, instead 60x40mm.

Aun así creo que me he quedado corto con las figuras... en las próximas añadiré más.

Warg riders [10mm LOTR]

A warg riders unit.

 Las figuras de Copplestone Castings son fantásticas. Tienen un detalle increíble y muchas poses diferentes (en un blister de 12, sólo algunas figuras están duplicadas).

Copplestone Castings figures are awesome. They have an incredible detail and many different poses (only a few figures are duplicated of a total of 12).

He usado 5 figuras en la unidad para que la unidad sea menos compacta que las de caballería (que tienen 6 figuras). ¿Creéis que queda bien, o debería añadir alguna más?

I´ve used 5 figures on this unit in order to give it a less compact look than the human cavalry (with 6 figures). Do you think it loos fine, or should I add one more figure?

Orc leader [10mm LOTR]

He empezado a pintar los orcos de Copplestone Castings y la primera figura es un orco montado en huargo que usaré como comandante.

I´ve started to paint Copplestone Castings orcs and the first figure is an orc mounted  on warg that I will use as commander.

Mordor Trolls [10mm LOTR]

Os presento a los primeros trolls de Mordor de Copplestone Castings.

I present you the first Mordor trolls from Copplestone Castings.

He pintado uno de cada de los tres modelos diferentes que vienen en la bolsa. Al final decidí ponerles bases individuales a cada uno, dado que voy a usar las reglas de Hail Caesar, los trolls son unos candidatos perfectos para ser "elefantes". Como me sobran unos cuantos más, con ellos haré unidades de tres trolls. Este es el primer modelo.

I´ve painted one of each of the three different models that come in the bag. In the end I decided to put them each on an individual basis, since I'm using Hail Caesar rules, trolls are a perfect candidate for "elephants". As I have some more, I´ll make with them units of three trolls. This is the first model.

Las figuras están en la línea del resto de figuras de 10mm de Copplestone Castings: Detalles sencillos pero bien definidos. En resumen, ha sido muy agradable pintarlas. Para terminar os dejo una foto comparativa de tamaños con unos hombres de Gondor.

Rangers of Ithilien [10mm LOTR]

Ya están terminadas la dos últimas unidades que me quedaban por pintar: los montaraces de Ithilien.

I´ve finished the last two LOTR units that I had to paint: the Rangers of Ithilien.

Las he pintado un poco rápido... probablemente, si hubiese tenido tiempo, les podría haber sacado más partido, ya que las figuras son geniales (como todas las que he pintado de Copplestone).

I've painted them quite fast ... probably, if I'd had time, I might have had a better outcome, as the figures are great (as all the rest of Copplestone figures that I have already painted).

Ya sólo me queda pintar algunos personajes, concretamente Imrahil, Faramir y Boromir, y daré por terminada la primera fase del proyecto.

Now I just have to paint some characters, especially Imrahil, Faramir and Boromir, and I will end the first phase of the project.

 

En navidades haré un nuevo pedido a Copplestone. Para completar el ejército quiero añadir: 2 unidades de caballería de Gondor,  2 más de lanceros y una unidad de artillería (usaré alguna máquina de Pendraken). ¡Y también empezaré con las primeras unidades del ejército de Mordor!

At Christmas I will make a new order to Copplestone. In order to complete the Gondor army I want to add 2 units of Gondor knights, 2 more spearmen units and one artillery unit (I will use some Pendraken artillery).And also start with the first units of the army of Mordor!

Elessar conversion [10mm LOTR]

Y la última entrada de ESDLA, por el momento: Elessar (peana de comandante)

Para esta conversión he utilizado la figura de un oficial de los lanceros. Le he añadido capa y modificado el yelmo. Con eso y cambiar el esquema de color la figura es suficiente para destacarlo sobre la mesa.

For this conversion I´ve used an officer figure from a spearmen unit. I´ve added a cape and modified the helmet. Just with this and changin the figure color scheme is enough to highlight  it on the table

El estandarte real está hecho con masilla. El color azul contrasta muy bien con el resto del ejército.

Royal Standard is made of green putty. The blue color contrasts nicely with the rest of the army.

Me quedan un par de unidades de montaraces, pero se me ha acabado el spray de imprimación... espero remediarlo en breve.

I have a couple of Rangers units left, but I ran out of primer... I hope to remedy it soon.

City Guard Conversion - [10mm LOTR]

Para mi tercera unidad de soldados he decidido hacer una conversión: la guardia de la ciudad.

La conversión ha consistido en añadir una capa (sencillo) y un par de alas a los yelmos (un poco más complicado). El estandarte de la unidad también es casero (hecho con masilla) y, aunque reconozco que quedaría mejor un estandarte ondeando, he decidido hacerlo plano porque es el estilo de los estandartes de Copplestone.

For my third unit of soldiers I have decided to do a conversion: the city guard.

The conversion consist on adding a cape (easy) and a pair of wings on the helmets (slightly more complicated). The unit standard is also handmade (​​with green putty) and, although I admit that would be better a waving banner, I decided to do flat one because it is the style of Copplestone banners.
