Brian K. Vaughan's Watchmen birthday card

On the last installment of his excellent Substack newsletter Exploding Giraffe (you can subscribe HERE), dated Monday 17th of March, extraordinary writer Brian K. Vaughan talked about some difficult moments and... an happy ending (sort of). Of interest to Moore's fans.
Brian K. Vaughan: [...] Well, how’s your dystopian 2025 been so far?

Los Angeles obviously endured some horrific wildfires, and though my family and I are completely fine, we’re devastated for our friends who lost everything. [...]

We voluntarily evacuated not long after the ash started raining down, and I left behind just about all of my worldly possessions, so when the flames started approaching our neighborhood, my dear friend/collaborator Jeff Yorkes (and his wife and kids!) raced over to our abandoned place to rescue as much of my obnoxious original comic art collection as they could pry off the walls, including this eerily appropriate recent acquisition: a hand-drawn birthday card by Watchmen co-creator Dave Gibbons [...]

That Gen-13 script, Brian K Vaughan and Bob Wiacek

DONATE!!!
Did you remember that unpublished Gen-13 script that was auctioned on eBay some time ago?
Well Brian K Vaughan, co-creator of Y The Last Man and Saga, was victorious at a bid of $3433 for the faxed pages. And now he has decided to share it!
Anyway, rather than hoarding this lost treasure in my BKVault, I thought I would share it with those of you who are kind enough to donate ANY AMOUNT to Bob Wiacek's GoFundMe page (link in bio!). Please just forward your donation receipt to this email: ThanksForHelpingBobW at gmail dot com, and my correspondence wiener dog Hamburger K. Vaughan will eventually send you back a private link to a scan of the script for your personal reading pleasure. Thanks so much for whatever you can do to help, and I hope everyone is staying safe and sane out there.
So... DONATE!!!

Brian K. Vaughan's hero

A page from Swamp Thing Vol.3 N.2 (Vertigo, 2000) by B.K. Vaughan, R. Petersen and J. Rubinstein.
Excerpt from an interview with acclaimed writer Brian K. Vaughan (Y: The last man, Ex Machina, Saga) conducted by Adriano Ercolani and Evil Monkey during the last Lucca Comics & Games convention.
Originally published in Italian on Fumettologica site.

Is there any other author that you feel close to you or you are inspired by?
Brian K. Vaughan: In comics...Alan Moore is my hero. Bur I will never be able to write in his style.

Well, you have been compared to him many times!
Brian K. Vaughan: Unfairly! Maybe they said: "This guy sucks compared to Alan Moore!"

The complete interview, in Italian, can be read here.
Special thanks to Adriano Ercolani for the support.
