Total Fucking Destruction & Skat Injector - Ubi Nihil Vales, Ibi Nihil Velis ''7 split

Genre: Grindcore/Cybergrind
Country: U.S.A./England
Year: 2011

Total Fucking Destruction
1. Human Is The Bastard
2. Monster Earth Megawar
3. Wounded Unit
4. Youth Apocalypse Right Now
Skat Injector
5. Anal Suicide
6. Sworn To Sodomy

This 7" delivers two very different but equally vicious grind assaults. Total Fucking Destruction's side (featuring drummer Rich Hoak from Brutal Truth) is made up of 4 tracks of their twitchy prog-tinged grindpunk, professionally recorded live in the studio and heavy as hell. Skat Injector are back with two new songs of their vicious blackened, digital grindcore mixed with squelchy electro beats, synth effects and programmed blast beats.

Trap Them - Darker Handcraft

Genre: Crust/Grindcore/Hardcore
Country: U.S.A.
Year: 2011

1. Day 42: Damage Prose
2. Day 44: Slumcult & Gather
3. Day 41: Every Walk A Quarantine
4. Day 43: Evictionaries
5. Day 32: All By The Constant Vulse
6. Day 34: Sordid Earnings
7. Day 33: The Facts
8. Day 35: Saintpeelers
9. Day 46: Manic In The Grips
10. Day 37: Sovereign Through The Pines
11. Day 47: Drag The Wounds Eternal
12. Day 36: Scars Align

3rd album by Trap Them. With Kurt Ballou at the controls again, the band has built a torturous gauntlet of 12 pounding tracks. They’ve got the intensity of Converge, plenty of d-beat rhythms and a buzzsaw guitar tone that recalls early Entombed. The drumming is tight and precise, from grinding blasts to straight up punk to complex rhythmic battery. There is a little more breathing room on this album than previous efforts, the music grinds less and grooves more, with occasional hints at doom and noisecore, which adds a grimy layer of sheer heaviness.

Gridlink - Orphan

Genre: Grindcore
Country: U.S.A.
Year: 2011

1. Dar Al-Harb
2. Orphan
3. Deliverables
4. Scopedog
5. Red Eye
6. Cargo 200
7. Thorn Farmer
8. Embers, Blood And Treasure
9. I Accept Your Last Wish
10. Hearts
11. Flatworlder
12. The Last Red Shoulder

2nd album by Gridlink. The latest brainchild of masterminds Jon Chang and Takafumi Matsubara is 12 minutes of furious and savage ear-fuckery. What makes Gridlink special is their ability to create resplendent music with minimal time and space at breakneck speed. The vocals are brutal, but varied enough to make each track sound different, you'll hear high pitched wailing, guttural growls and hardcore yells. Musically, you'll get the usual blending of spastic grindcore with technical death metal, all going at 200 miles an hour.

Ulcerate - The Destroyers Of All

Genre: Progr.Death
Country: New Zealand
Year: 2011

1. Burning Skies
2. Dead Oceans
3. Cold Becoming
4. Beneath
5. The Hollow Idols
6. Omens
7. The Destroyers Of All

3rd album by Ulcerate. The music is a twisted, dissonant, cacophonous sounding version of brutal technical death metal which at its roots is greatly influenced by Gorguts. There´s also a strong influence in the music from the dissonant structured chaos of experimental black metal acts like Deathspell Omega and Blut Aus Nord. Truelly a highlight of 2011.

Immaculate - Atheist Crusade

Genre: Thrash
Country: Sweden
Year: 2010

1. Cross Of Nero
2. Thrashark
3. The Immaculate Dead
4. Sanity's Eclipse / Steel Of The Missionary
5. Atheist Crusade
6. Thrash Metal Avenger
7. The Apparition (Fates Warning cover)
8. Gutterthrash

2nd album by Immaculate. Their thrash is quite technical, at times it's almost frenzied and the high pitched vocals might take some getting used to. It is very solid, they keep the fast tempo with very few traces of sloppiness, amazing considering the speed in which they play. It is surely not one of the most original or memorable releases in the scene, but it has a certain touch of trustworthy workmanship that many other contemporary albums effectively lack.
