Debut album by Destruction. Compositionally and performance wise, Infernal Overkill was a huge step up from the earlier ‘Sentence of Death’ EP. The group is unbelievably strong and plays very compact, even if the production doesn’t help. There are many thrash classic songs in here and the whole album was truly influential for many future bands.

Death Angel's 2nd album was totally different from the straightforward thrashing of The Ultra-Violence and quite atypical for a thrash metal album. It is Death Angel at their most experimental and complex, while still keeping the raw energy of their youth. Frolic Through The Park is a highly experimental release, containing a diversity of metal, funk and whatever influences mixed together into a unique experience.

Debut album by Forgotten Woods. All of the songs are mid-paced black metal and this better enables the band to create the gloomy and depressive feeling that they are going for. Vocally the shrieks and screams are processed through an echo that is well executed and effective.  The vocal performance adds to the sense of dread and subservience. A true, but forgotten masterpiece!

It is Lake of Tears' 2nd release and they had already created their own style, a mixture of gothic, doom, acoustic and melancholy. Brennare used a much cleaner voice on this record. Abandoning their death metal affectations almost completely , Lake of Tears take a more traditional metal approach on Headstones.
