50dollar_voucher_600px

Lucky for me this card got me out of trouble but its rather a long story and I'm just thankful there was a happy ending with being able to use this card instead.
So the rather striking and pretty papers are Fresh Cut  from Basic Grey, Simon Says Stamps only chose their best papers for their kits and this was in their February one and I love them so much had to buy them.
I've used the Small Heart Doily set from Simon Says Stamp but I cut out the larger heart twice cutting round the centre of one of them for template for gingham papers.
The beautiful butterfly is another die from Simon says Stamp called Leanna.
You may recognise the sketch I used last Freshly Made sketch but as usual I was too late to enter it.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Thanks

I love this die from Simons Says Stamps and I've seen it with the waste used with coloured card stock behind to show up the word. Maybe its me but I have to add the bits inside the letters and swirl bits.
Its fairly easy to do I use the actual word that was cut out as a guide and place the loose bits with a glue pen.
The papers are from the Simon Says Stamps February Kit although I already looked inside the box and thought how much I liked them. I didn't realise was beautiful papers were inside and here's my problem, they're so pretty I can't bear to cut them!
The secret celebration was my parents renewing their vows. Dad never brought Mum a Wedding Ring when they got married so he wanted to buy a ring for their anniversary it snowballed into renewing their vow and a blessing with a little party afterwards. You may know Mum is in a Nursing Home but the staff got behind it and even came in on their day off. Emma even brought her wedding veil for mum to wear.

Transport

Time for new challenge on Simon Says Stamp Challenge

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog

 and this week its
Transport

The team are also using Basic Grey products but thats not a requirement for the challenge just the DT chance to show what amazing products Simon Says Stamps have in their store.

When the team was asked to use Basic Grey products I just went and brought a brand new one Mint Julep with pretty colours and floral prints not thinking the challenge was Transport and how masculine it sound. You won't find Traffic signs etc in the pack either luckily there are some blue prints with some pinky flowers which worked with red.
So that was why I chose to use this Penny Black Auto Hog which I had for ages and not used. Gosh there were quite a few bits to layer and I used glossy accents for the window screen. I was kinda lost when it came for embellishments this wasn't the time to lose Mr Mojo but lose him I did.
I decided to use the MFT fence which I cut so I use it top and bottom of the image so it looks like he's driving through. The grass is Martha Stewart Icicle punch but I think that may be retired I'm still on the lookout for something this size in die. My flowers are Flower Friends the tiny flower from the die set and the sentiment by the way is using the stamp set, The tiny centres are from the Bella Bloom I'm on my second set having the lost the tiny centre once already, now I keep it in the plastic bag it came in and reseal it, not going to lose it twice.

Now you know the drill to win the chance of this fabulous prize you have to enter the challenge with a new card no backlinking and you need to enter your post using the linky thing on the challenge blog. Also you need to link to the challenge in your post or you won't be eligible for the prize.

Another Cup of Tea

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog
Time for another challenge on Simon Says Stamps Challenge and this week its Thanksgiving or a Thank you card. Also a bit of a warning this is going to be a long, photo heavy post.

Remember the shaped card challenge week well it reminded me I haven't made a tri fold card for ages and this week I thought I would make one didn't realise how long it would take to decorate.

Now you know I love teacups and I used these Tilly and Miranda in teacups from Stamping Bella before but I do love them. The papers are Basic Grey PB&J and the swirl is Simon Says Stamps Exclusive Harrington Vine die I've used it in various colours and cut some to fit.

I was going to put another Teacup girl in the centre but she was bit tall so I decided to use the My Favourite Things Always Time for Tea set instead. The stamps set had the perfect sentiment.

Here's the picture of the whole card love it when the end result looks better than what you envisage.

Don't forget there is a fabulous prize to be won and you just have to make sure you mention the Simon Says Stamps challenge and link to the blog on your Thank you card post and of course link your card with the blue frog to win.

Inspired

Right well let's get down to this weeks challenge and what a challenge this is going to be, as we have a very special guest joining us this week, that being Simon Says Stamp's very own Kristina Werner.
Kristina is super inspiring, sweet as can be and uber talented...Kristina, if you don't know by now is the one that chooses what goes into the Monthly Card Kits that Simon Says sell and not just that she has designed stamp sets that can be purchased through the card kit and also in the store separately, just recently she has designed exclusive dies that well lets face it are just awesome, the design team shared many creations using these Dies as seen in last weeks challenge...
This week Kristina is sharing an inspiration photo of her gorgeous Kitty, Mannie, we hope you will all have fun playing along with Kristina and the Design Team

KRISTINA'S INSPIRATION

The design team are sharing creations using Basic Grey products
you don't have to use them to join in but we would love to see them used if you have them...
As always Heidi will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store!

Now to my Card.

I really wanted my card to be influenced by Kristina style rather than just use the colour board. The cards on her blog seemed to have quite a bit of Kraft card and banners and there's quite a few pics of the cutest puddy cat too.
Which made me determined to use a Penny Black cat and this one is called Purr-Message which is a cling stamp. The Basic Grey papers I've used PB&J, which is perfect for colours of the board. and the flower mat which I stitched down (Kirstina does quite a bit of sewing too) I cut out the flowers to decorate my card.
Then it was a case of making banners to go across the card, which I used a square punch to make the shape. I really pleased how the card turned out, a bit different for me.

Tuesday's Morning Sketch

I confess to a melt down the last few days. I usually someone who puts a smile on my face and gets on with life regardless to what pain I'm in and try not to dwell on things I can't do any more but every now and then I get a form to fill in. Its asking me to write down all the things my arthritis doesn't allow me to do anymore and suddenly I have to get my head out of the sand think about the things I can't do.
So yesterday I decided to have a craft day which is probably why I hurt quite a bit today but its a good hurt if that makes sense because it hurts because I was doing what I loved.
Now you know I love the teapot dies from MFT and I was checking round blogland to get a few ideas and saw the sketch on Tuesday Morning Sketch and I just knew I had to make this card.
The papers are Basic Grey and definitely Picadilly unlike yesterdays card I'm now not convinced that it was.
I loaded quite a few pic this morning and the squares one were OK but this one caused quite a bit of trouble and I know people are having issues about loading. I been to a few blogs this morning while waiting for daylight and some pics are not showing hopefully you will see this card.

Winifred

I love Winifred from Mo Manning and don't be surprised to see her again. I've used the sketch from Sketch Saturday and the papers are Basic Grey Nordic so it will also work for the Anything Goes on the BG Challenge.
I've kept every simple just using snowflakes and the icicle border from Martha Stewart and the swirl is from Magnolia. Craftwork cards sentiment using the stamping up punches.
Off to do some blog hopping catch up had a bit of moment yesterday, I normally open several blogs at a time and don't have a problem but yesterday I kept getting into a muddle.

Buttons, Buttons and Buttons

This week on Simon Say Stamps Challenge its Buttons which I have so many!

We're showcasing Basic Grey and I've got my hands on the Nordic Holiday and love this red stripy one and I was going to match it by using the Sizzix candy card embossing  folder but do you think I could find it I looked everywhere and I knew it wasn't alone there was another folder missing too. So I had to settle for snowflakes from the Christmas set instead.
I used Penny Black Christmas Mix stamp and the sentiment is from a Christmas Clear pack called Winter Winterland (its the one with robins in). I've used the holly that was on the wooden stamp to cut out and embellish the card and used some tiny red buttons in my stash for the berries.
It was lovely to make CAS card after all those busy cards I've done lately.

Now don't forget if you join in you have a chance to win this fabulous prize and check out the fabulous team always wonderful creations to inspire you.

Photo inspiration

Lols are Head Girl at Simon Says Stamps Challenge will be so proud of me I managed to open a pack of  Prima flowers from Simon Says Stamps and actually use them. I keep buying from the fabulous selection and then I can't use them cos they're so gorgeous.
But I used the sparkly pink ones cos they went so well with Basic Grey Sweet Threads.
So the challenge is to go Fruity with a Photo to inspire you.
My image is a Sarah Kay one and I used the Martha Stewart deep edge Doily punch yeah I know I keep using it but its so easy to make the oval border.
The sentiment is Penny Black, pop over to Simon Says Stamps to check out their PB stamps they have loads.
Now don't forget the super prize from Simon Says Stamps for one lucky winner but you've got to be in it to win it.
And don't forget the team, check out their amazing creations.

High Hopes

So the challenge on High Hopes this week is to make something 3d like a gift bag or box. Last week Lacey had a tutorial on how to make this basket gift box and I thought it would be ideal to make for this challenge. So using this cute puddy cat stamps and some matching flower stamp I'm really pleased how it turned out, but being on an diet I didn't dare buy any sweeties to put inside.
Here's a close up of the puddy cat isn't she cute and her identical twin sister is on the back. The papers are Basic Grey and I've used the Martha Stewart doily punch for the lace trim round the circle mat and the handle. The flowers are the retro flower punch from EK success but I've used a pair of deckle scissor to chop the tops off to match the flower stamp.
I had to cut down the flower image so it would fit.
This will be my last High Hopes post as a Diva, I'm afraid that I've stepped down and all the Divas have sent me such supportive and wonderful messages. It's been an absolutely wonderful being a HH Diva and I adore the amazing stamps that Tina makes. So although it may be my last post as a Diva it won't be my last High Hopes card.

Flowerpot Bunny

Flowers are the challenge this week at Everybody Art Challenge. I had this little Penny Black bunny waiting to be coloured for a while and this was the ideal opportunity to use him. Now looking at him I wish I hadn't put white pearls in the centre, probably jet pearls would have been better.
The papers are Basic Grey  Sweet Threads which I brought from Simon Says Stamps. The cherish border punch from Martha Stewart is working hard this week.
Do pop over to the challenge blog and see the amazing DT creations and we would love for you to join in.

Just after I did my post yesterday morning there was a huge crashing of metal, I thought it was the noisy car and trailer that has been going around lately and I had the back door open so I thought that was why it was so loud. But I decided to check and found that a car and bus had a fight and the car lost. The chap driving the car was whisk to hospital but he walked to the ambulance with a neck collar on so he was one very luck guy.
I know this is a bit morbid but I did want to record the event happened so if you don't want to see the pic don't scroll down.

cherry blossom

This started as an experiment, I wanted to see what a panel would look using my Cherry Blossom border punch from Martha Stewart. I didn't like the stars being gaps so using the cropadile I use the waste to stick behind each flower, now I like it.
I also used some deckle scissors to chop of the tips of the retro flower so they look similar to cherry blossom. The sketch is from Sketch Saturday but used a frame for one of the mats cos I couldn't find another piece of Basic Grey that pleased me.
