Thanks to Scarlet Puppynickel

We didn't realize it at the time but when SP destroyed our leather leashes, we were going to need new ones. Well --- here it is. It is a 2 banger & it is bright red. We gave it a good workout on our walk. It's worked pretty good. Sure kept us together. We have some other gadgets called couplers Mom has used. But she got carried away when she saw this pretty red leash and coupler in one.
We also got new scarves. I think Sasha looks prettysexy in hers. I have mine on too. I think the color is good on me, shows off my handsomeness.
Sasha loves treats and she is working Mom and giving one of her looks. I'm not sure how she does it but her mouth is all wrinkled looking. I'm just being watchful and
pitiful. I can work Mom too. I like this look but Mom has me a bit out of focus. She needs to steady up a bit. This is my are you done yet pose. Note my front legs. Do you think she gets it??
Hope you all had a nice weekend. Thanks for visiting.

Not Much Going on

It has been a couple of quiet days. We did go to the beach. Mom didn't take many pictures or videos. She did do a lot of stick throwing for us though. We got to spend time playing in the water and running. Good stuff.

We did get a lot of sniffs on this trail walk( which is always good). Hope you all have fun and we are working on Mom to take us to Marymoor Park so we can see all the other pups. We haven't been there for awhile. No leashes there. WOOHOO!!

It was the Scarlet Puppynickel!!!

Sasha & I went to the groomers yesterday. Sasha really liked it. She went right in. I didn't mind BUT then they put us in a big cage and shut the door. I felt way too caged. They left our leashes on. That is when the Scarlet Puppynickel came to visit. (I want to thank my friend Checkers -great idea. Hope you don't mind me using it.) These are pictures Mom took after SP visited. They put Sasha & me into the same cage together. That was fine because we are best friends. But SP came to visit and must have liked the taste of our leather leashes. Or maybe SP didn't like cages either. Our leashes are now in many pieces and one clip is even missing. Wonder where it went? When she called Mom to tell her we were done, she said there had been a bit of a problem. Mom thought maybe something happened to one of us. Like an ear snipped, toenail cut too short - - -- - - I think Mom was relieved the problem was only with the leashes. Cuz' she wasn't mad or nothing - just relieved.
Except for that incident, Sasha & I were good at the groomers. The people were very nice and vaid we were good pups but were Very sorry about the incident with the leashes though. Next time they won't leave our leashes on. Mom usually grooms us herself but she thought it would be a treat to have an expert clean us up. Sasha is easy - just a bath and a good brushing mostly. I however, get more of a spa type treatment. They really gave me a fancy haircut and a bright yellow ribbon on my neck. How do I look? This is before our beauty treatment. I am telling Dad it really is me - only the hair looks different. Oh and by the way, Dad may I have more popcorn. Sasha & I love popcorn .
Sasha didn't change much only cleaner. My hair is much shorter and more stylin'. Sasha & I started to pose for Mom to show off our new do's but then Dad got some popcorn. Popcorn is more important than posing for more pictures. Don't ya' think?
We are finally posing. Pretty good huh? Now where is the popcorn you promised?
Hope you all have a nice weekend and thanks for visiting. Ernie & Sasha PS Checkers, thank you so much for the Scarlet Puppynickel idea. It was a lifesaver. I think maybe they bought it. I didn't get in trouble.

Pale Pink and the beach

Isn't this pretty. This was amongst some of the pictures Mom had taken. This rose is called First Kiss. Dad bought it for Mom.
This is one of our favorite toys that gets left at the cabin. When we go there it is almost like having new toys because we haven't seen some of them for awhile. We went down to the beach yesterday to cool off. This is our friend Sammy. For such a little dog he is a fantastic swimmer and he doesn't care how far he has to go to get the stick. He really likes the big ones.
This is the view going down the trail to the beach. It is a fun trail. We get to run ahead with NO leashes. We run up and down the trail. We always either stop or go back to check on Mom. She is a lot slower at going down the trail that we are. Sometimes she is slowed down because she has to clean up after us. Those little poop bags can be a challenge to her sometimes.
We think this is the same picture. But it was taken a little bit later. That speck in the water is a boat.
Mom likes looking out at the water from this spot. Someone has put a bench and a little platform there. She says it is peaceful, we just want to get on with getting to the beach.
Sasha & I going after the same stick. I am under the water. Do you think she was trying to drown me???
She is my favorite pup. She doesn't know it yet but I will be getting that stick from her. She tries to keep it but I usually get it. ( Mom says Sasha is just super nice and likes to share)
In this quick video clip Sammy's Dad and Mom are also in it. They like to go to the beach with us. The dog by Sammy's Dad is Callie. She is a new friend. We think she likes Ron better than us because she didn't swim but followed Ron around. (He had treats in his pockets - she is a treat hound) We found out she is 13 years old. Sure doesn't seem like she would be that old. We all want the sticks to be thrown for us. We are barking and getting excited. That is Sasha &
Sammy are making all the noise. I am letting them do the talking.
We heard M & D say they are taking us to be groomed. They think that after being at the cabin, we are in need of a bath. I also heard Mom say "Ernie needs a good haircut." Not looking forward to going & having someone else besides Mom cut my hairs and stuff.
More later.

Visitors and playtime?

Towards the end of the week at the cabin some of our favorite people came to visit. One of our sons and his 2 children. (Their names all begin with K) It seems they like to work too. We had some small fir trees that were growing TOO close together and needed to be cleared out. They decided to help out and next thing we knew we had cleared 3 groupings of small not doing well trees. They were so thick their trunks were very spindly.
Here is the little K. What a trooper. He is a real worker. It was hard to get him to stop. He helped his dad lopper small trees and even tried to help Mom with the small bow saw. He dec ided the loppers were more his style. He looked up the hill behind where we were working and in amazement said,"holycriminy" that's a LOT of trees and work. Are we doing all that today?" We assured him we weren't. We would leave some for another time.
The little K girl taking Sasha for a walk. She decided after a bit of work that she would rather do something else. Play with me(Ernie) or Sasha or go for a ride with Grandpa in the Rhino.
K & K are building lakes and parking lots for their critters. He has dinosaurs and she has horses. Sasha was always watching and staying by them. Sometimes I did too but mostly I did my own thing. There is always a lot to sniff and watch.
The 3 great helpers on the hill behind the cabin. Don't know how we would have gotten so much done in such a short time without them. It was an adventure for the little ones and they told us how much they liked it there. They want to come back again soon. We would love that. Sasha & I actually have a pool up there now. We got to keep the 2 we had at home. Sasha really likes my orange squeaker toy. Mom says I am stingy with it.
We were out for a walk and when we came back we found this frog resting on our screen door. It stayed there for quite a while even though we were all going in and out the door. There was even one baby one on the side of the cabin.
Looking from inside the cabin out the screen door. The little critter seemed to like it there.
Meanwhile back at the pool. Sasha has her own toy but still is waiting for me to get tired of this one. hee hee!!! Like that is going to happen.
I don't dare put it down. Let me tell you it is hard to get a drink of water and still hang on to it.
Do you think she is getting tired of following me and waiting for me to put it down?
Sasha decided to take a 'dip" and cool off. She is still keeping her eye on me though. She is very patient & doesn't give up.
I am trying to get that drink of water and not put squeaky down. It's tough!
Sometimes I actually go up to Mom and put it at her feet so she can throw it for me. Then I run like the wind and take the long way back especially when it is hot and I want to cool off a bit before the next big run. M & D say I am very fast.
Sasha is not without toys. This Kong Wubba is her new toy. It used to squeak. Not like mine though. I think she likes the squeaking. She played so hard with it that now it hardly ever gives out a squeak - only air noises. She just got done cleaning it in the pool. We had a great time. We missed reading about all your adventures. We are catching up now.
Have a fun day.

We're home!!

We had a fun time at the cabin. But Mom got a bit carried away the first afternoon and evening and hardly took any pictures of us - we're her favorite 4 legged people afterall. What was she thinking? Here is our token picture of the day. We are on watch. Thought we heard something. These flowers are a pretty blue. She likes the wildflowers that come up. They change just about every time we go to the mountains. She loves sunsets and gets carried away taking pictures of them. She says it is so peaceful and beautiful. We think she could have gotten us in some of them. More of the same - - - - OOOPs! this one is a bit fuzzy Mom. Maybe you shouldn't have had that wine. We are going to have to talk to her. This is our blog after all and we should be the stars. We had a lot of fun and we know she took lots of pictures of us. We think she will put them on in the next couple of days. We are glad to be home for awhile. We are enjoying catching up on reading the blogs of all the people who have visited us and who we follow. Such adventures and pictures from all of you. Have a fun week. Ernie & Sasha

Cooling Off!!

It is a bit cooler today. Mom took us for a LONG walk but she forgot her camera. We met some new friends. Maybe we'll get a picture of them sometime. Magic was huge. He is a black Great Dane. He was rescued like me and Sasha. He made even Sasha look small. Magic seems like a cool guy. He is not real sure yet about other dogs, but we think we could have fun. The other one was Rowdy a yellow Lab. He was very handsome and had had some surgery cuz his whole tummy was shaved. Or maybe it was to help him keep cool??? After our walk we had to cool off and the pools were a big help. Sure cooled our feet.
The cool water even tasted good. We were very calm after our long walk and sniff session. No going crazy in these pools.
We usually save that stuff for going to the lake or the beach by our house. Sasha thanking Mom. She is using her soft face look.
We heard Mom say they were going to take one of the pools to the cabin when we go this Friday or Saturday. Now that we have water there, Mom plans to fill the pool to the top with the cold and clear water. It should really help keep us cool. We might be gone about a week or so. Won't be able to read or do blogging until we get back.
