Blog Problems

Hey everybuddy,   Mom is having PROBLEMS  with the blog.  She can't enter any of the "fantastic" pictures of us.  IT keeps telling her something about the server.... The only think she could get to work this time was the video of Tillie(our foster the black one) and Archie another foster's foster playing.  It's a very short one.  The reason is they had previously been playing hard and fast for about 2o minutes.  Safe to say they used up a big portion of their energy. Whoohoo!  the 2nd video came thru and shows them really playing.

We have been missing cuz D was in hospital with having his heart surgery.  He has a big scar down the center of his chest and is now in some skilled nursing facility getting strong and everything so he can come He had a MAJOR stroke many many moons ago. Makes his recovery harder.  We keep looking for him and miss him a lot.
  Ernie

Hi - Mom here.  Dad is doing better day by day and bit by bit.  WE found out how many friends we have.  Wonderful.    Has anyone considered moving to wordpress or another type of blog?  It seems like we are having more problems lately.  Frustrating is one word for trying toload some pict and  not being allowed to.  Not sure of the server thing... We are still using the same equipement and haven't made any changes.

Have been missing all of you.  Hopefully we can figure out the problem so we can get back to visiting and commenting and posting.   :-)

Ernie -Then and Now

Hi everybuddy,  It's me Ernie.  The lady who runs the rescue (PUP Dog Rescue in Issaquah) and who saved me from the high kill shelter in CA -sent mom these pics that showed what a sorry mess I was before I came to them.  I was furrrrry lucky because a lady came in to the shelter just before I was to be euthanized.  She like me and said she saw something special in me.  SOoo she took me to the groomers and I had my first SPA treatment.
Mom and Dad saw me on Petfinder with PUP and sent in an application.  The rest is history.  The PUP people came for a home visit with me to see how I got along with Sasha and the family.  Little did any one know that M & D's sons would be there with families,  grand bipeds,&  their Labs.  It just happened....FUN!!!  Everyone got along so well that the PUP lady Laura called it a non-event cuz we all were great together.  Then she said if M & D ever wanted another dog just call and they would bring one right over.  Well, about 3 years passed and M & D decided to try fostering for PUP.
So here we are about 3 years after that and M & D have brought in about 61 dogs to foster.  It has been interesting.  I heard Mom say we'd be lucky to get to 5 fosters.  Guess it gets in the blood. :-)
We are a house full of rescue pups (Sasha,me, Chica,Lucas, and GG's dog Rosie)  We always get excited and check the crates that come in the house to see what kind of friend they brought us this time.
PS Sam check out my early pics.... I look a LOT LIKE you  :-) How about that?

Have a fun weekend... We're getting rain is seems.

Almost pictureless/not quite wordless Wednesday

Mom Barb here.  We have been missing everyone.  My hard drive crashed and burned.     Can't seem to upload pictures -Maybe it is Blogging gremlins... or???  ( Upload Failed  - Server Returned an Invalid Response) Any ideas of what the problem is??  WOW!! I think I  just figured out what was wrong!! I was using the wrong "program".

This is a picture of our newest foster -  Peyton Manning no Not the football player.  This little guy is VERY sweet and smart.  He is a pug mix.  Everybody seems to love him so we may not have him long.  He is 5.5 yrs and  about 28 lbs.  Gonna miss him when he's adopted!  He is online now
as is Tillie our other foster.  She is also sweet and happy and a picture of her is in our previous post.

This beautiful black and white cat was enjoying the sun and watching us as we all walked by.  Keeping his eye on the dogs...

I am frustrated, I tried to upload another picture of Tillie from the same set of pictures, and it came up with the same error message. What's with that? Well, we are making progress - at least we got 2 to upload... :-)
We will be visiting you all.  Be patient with us.

Thankful Thursday

Good News!!! Bentley was adopted this past Sunday.(the 23rd).  His new mom is very excited and she will be great with him.   BUT the really even better news is::

She was thinking about a little playmate for him and we just happened to have gotten another foster the day before and happened to have him with us when went to the meet n greet for her and Bentley..
This is Noodles (now known as Jingles). What a wonderful caring lady!!! She fell in love with both of them and adopted both!! How awesome is that?!  They both get to go to work with her and have someone to play with.

This is Tillie.  She is about a year old and
is at  least part long haired Chihuahua.  We will be picking her up today.

Feeding time.  We still had Bentley - so there are 6 of us.  Mom is very proud of us. We don't bother any other pup and wait patiently (hover sometimes) to check the others dishes.
Sasha is watching the rest of us - hoping we don't want her special food.  Bentley is hard to see cuz he is so white - he blends in.

M and  D made a quick trip to the cabin to winterize it.  There is a lot going on rght now and just in case they can't get
back up there before the snows hit, they wanted to make sure the water lines etc were taken care of.

Sasha & I didn't get to go this time.  We stayed home with GG and took care of her. BUT those silly liittle ones got to go.  Not fair! BUT I have to admit we did a good job of takiing care of GG.

Chica, Lucas, and Rosie discussing why they are confined to the deck.  They are small so M watches out for other critters and eagles.  Guess she doesn't want anything to happen to them.

It was very nice being there and M and D wished they could have stayed longer.  Because of the many fires around the sky was very hazy and at times they could smell the smoke.  The fires were not real close but the air quality not so good.

They took a different route home because their usual route was sometimes closed because of smoke and pilot cars were used at times to move people over that highway. This was at Blue Lake.  Very pretty.

Looking south at Blue Lake.  Along this highway, the rocks sometimes looked like a mini Grand Canyon.  Some of the pictures M wanted she couldn't get  - no place to pull over.  She says she stores those in her mind for later.  Don't know how she does that - we think her mind is too full anyway.

   Looking North at Blue Lake.

Very dry and rugged.  Pictures don't do it justice.
Hope you all have a good day.  I am going to work on M to get us all outside for a walk.

Sasha & Ernie

Hey everyfuriend,  Finally Sasha and I got to go for a walk together.
Checking PeeMail and the neighborhood for any new
furiends...

Sasha is doing good after her fall on the stairs.  She is moving slower but
loving it all.  We both hve gotten  comfortable with using the ramp.  Sometimes though
I forget myself and jump off the porch. I am so happy to have  some freedom.

I am thinking Sasha is looking more ghosty or faded.  She is one of my best furiends .  As always she enjoys a GOOD sniff.

Well look who all stayed home frotoo m that walk.
Rosie,Lucas, and Chica.  Don't feel bad for them -
they got to go later.

Mom saw something she thought she would like to share.  OK Mom your turn.
Thanks Ernie...
I saw this video of a Pilot Project in San Francisco where people who were homeless but now getting their lives together & living in supportive housing were able to foster dogs from shelters who would otherwise have been killed. Such a cool idea.  Not all like the idea, think the money could be spent better.  But I am thinking this is worth a try and know how therapeutic an animal can be to a person.  This may help not only the foster pets BUT maybe even help the people.  Prisons have similar programs.  A win win ...

Thanks Ernie for sharing with me.  Hoping all have a great weekend and enjoy some walks and play time...

Ernie & furiends

Hey Everybuddy,  It's me Ernie.  Great news!  I can now be off leash and I an HAPPY.  It's been a long time but I visited the vet and they took xrays - Knee looks GOOD!  My assistant put together this video thing (she is still learning -  so please be patient with her -thanks) .  I met 2 new friends.  Rita and Mickey.  Rita is my girlfriend  :-)  She loves me and we like to kiss and snuggle when we meet.  Her Mom says she is a floozie - whatever that is..  I don't think so.  Mickey is the Border Collie mix - black and white, nice and loves people.  Not so much some dogs BUT he and I do fine on our walks.

Bentley has been our house guest for a while. When we went to our cabin we saw a friend she  "fell in love" with him AND his issues. And applied to adopt him.   So, in a couple of weeks we are going to meet her and she will sign  the papers and officially adopt him.  Then he will go home with her.  Somewhere in his little life things must not been too good.  He growls, nips and stiffens when picked up.  BUT he is LOTS better - hardly ever does it now.  Now he actually wants to be touched and stroked and goes up on M and D's laps and is learning to like being petted. He hardly has any teeth after his dental so if he does nip - he only leaves a dent.  Mom says it is really something to see where he is now compared to when we got him a month or so ago.  What a change.  He is playing with toys and is part of our pack.  He is 6 years old and about 10 lbs.
Hope you all are having a good weekend and getting to go for walks and play with your humans

A Longer Walk

Hey Everybuddy, It's me Ernie.  It is so good to be out in the neighborhood.  I got to walk for about an hour and a half this morning.  I get to take longer walks - even as much as 3 hours in a day.
M took her camera and I thought this walk was gonna be all about me --- but as you can see she saw this Dahlia and said she couldn't resist.  I waited patiently (not really) while she took a couple pics.

Our little foster June.  She was adopted and now has new pawrents who fell in love with her and she with them - at 1st glance.  We don't have any fosters right now.  It's kinda nice to just be us for a bit.
June playing outside and getting a drink of water.
Sasha and June sharing a drink at the fountain.
Here Sasha and June again - sharing a bone.  Sasha is very sweet and loved this little one.  Of course, Sasha loves pretty much all the fosters/house guests  who come to our house.

We are trying to catch up on visiting everyone.  We are glad you have kept on visiting us.
Hey Mom,  did you want to say somethin'?
Thanks Ernie  -  Ernie is Soooo much better - Now it is Sasha's turn.  She mis-stepped or slipped going up the stairs from the basement to upstairs.  We were very scared she had really hurt herself because she wouldn't or couldn't walk. We couldn't get her up the stairs.  So left her to rest for the night.  In the morning a neighbor came to help me and we got her up and outside.  Sasha is the sweetest and never complains or anything.  We took her to the vet... Found out she had a UTI, and a couple of other things going on.  Those can be taken care of with antibiotics etc.  However,  even though we knew her hips weren't perfect when we got her at 1 1/2 yrs, she loved to go on walks and hike etc.  They took xrays and we found her hips were/are very bad.  I wondered how she could even walk.  Maybe it's the swimming and daily walks that helped prior to her fall.  Anyhow -- NO more stairs for her.  She has Rimadyl, Rejuvenate, and Tramadol, and an RX for her UTI right now.  She is already doing better and we are just keeping good thoughts for her.  She is about 12 1/2 and everything else is Great.   Lungs, heart etc.
Thanks to all of you who stood by Ernie with his knee surgery and wished him well.  It was was great!  Now, please keep paws crossed for Sasha.    :-)

Just one Hummingbird feeder at our friends home.  Counting the numer of Hummingbirds at her feeders at just this one time was amazing.  I believe they numbered about 30 plus.  It was amazing to see!!
Maggie in front and Lincoln in back.  Beautiful Tibetan Mastiffs.  They help keep her safe and the coyotes and bears away.  They have blown their winter coats so look much smaller.
Willie  is also very handsome especially with his full winter coat.  He also has blown coat and has a lot less hair than usual.  He is younger than Maggie or Lincoln.
During the monsoon like rains, ginormous thunder and lightning storm Lucas, Chica - with feet in the air and Rosie rested.  We went to the cabin for som sun but only had a couple of days.  The rest of the time was stormy.  Have never seen it like that.
We had our foster Ciera with us.  As you can see we had 5 crates. Sasha stayed home with GG. Ciera spilled some of her food and Miss Chica was hot on the trail to clean it up.  Could that be why she seems to be losing a bit of her girlish figure??
There she goes.. pushing her way between the wood stove to get to the kibble.
She has a very good nose and truth be known all her work was only for 1 little puppy kibble piece.
Lucas giving advice to little June.  She is very sweet and hopefully some wonderful family will adopt her.  She is doing well with house training,. walking on leash, and crate training. She sleeps thru the night and only cries if she has to go outside.
June playing with Sasha.  Sasha is careful when she is up moving around that she doesn't step on the little girl.
June playing with Chica.  Chica is alpha and the surprising thing is how she plays with June and accepts her.  So fun to watch!
Now for Ernie -  we saw the vet yesterday and he is doing great! BUT I was surprised when the vet said no off leash yet for another month.  She doesn't want to take a chance of any "backsliding" with his recovery.  HE CAN go for walks up to 3 hours a day now.  I am thinking--- how will that work with the other 4 and the foster/s.  THEN on our walk this AM all was going great UNTIL we met another dog who started growling and lunging... Not good Ernie responded by jumping and getting in a twirl.. I didn't do a good job on that one.
Hope all are having a good day and thank for stopping by to visit and say hi.

Hadley and Ciera

Hi everybuddy,  We were gone again and missed visiting all of you.  Some good news!!!! Hadley was adopted and now lives with a retired couple who likes to go for walks a couple of times a day. We are missing her but VERY happy she is in a home with people who love her.

Another pic of Hadley resting with one of her toys.  Think she is almost asleep in this pic.

Sweet Ciera was adopted yesterday!! To a wonderful family who lives about 2 1/2 hours from us.  It was love at 1st sight for all of them.  Ciera now has a 6 year old brother named Strawberry (because of his color).  He is called Berry for short.  The handsome guy holding Ciera is our grand biped K.

Ciera in close up.  What a sweet and happy girl.  She is about 5 months old and her tail never stops wagging.  Missing her and Hadley BUT so glad they are in good homes.  Now for the next foster.  It will be interesting to see who the next one will be.
Couldn't resist including a short video of K taking Ciera for a ride in the yard cart.  Ciera's new family said the video clip was what sealed it for them...
Ciera's new family also saw this video clip of Hadley and Ciera playing and IF Hadley hadn't already been adopted, they would have liked to adopt her too!! How awesome is that?
Hope you enjoy the clips.  Good to be back.  Hey Ernie,  would you like to add something???
I sure would.  Thanks M.   It seems quiet here with only the 5 of us dogs right now.  I have a vet appt this coming Wed.  I think I AM OK now.  In fact, I am feeling so much stronger and ready to go.  Getting very tired of this jail time.  Well, not really jail but having to be quiet, no running, jumping, etc.  I am ready for freedom.  Will see what dr vet says.
Congratulations to Hadley and Ciera!!!

Beautiful Day for Boat Ride & Ernie update

It was a beautiful sunny day.  Mom and the grand bipeds and Aunt D took a ride on the Water  Taxi to downtown.  Guess who all had to stay home,,, That's right us 4 legged furkids.  Some excuse about us not being able to go on the boat or in the Acquarium.  Lame huh????

Well, I don't see me in this pic either. Hadley was making up to K one of the grand bipeds.  Where was I??? Still stuck in ex-pen being quiet.

Fuzzy huh?  At least She took a pic of me and my bff Sasha.  I am either telling her secrets or maybe whispering sweet nuthins in her ear.....

Chica was sitting in the other K's booster seat until M actually snapped the picture.  Maybe she didn't want to be seen "sitting down on the job of watching over us"?

Hadley and Rosie snuggling in M's lap.

They didn't break the record of how many pups can get in M's lap.  But they got 4. Rosie, Chica, Hadley, and Lucas.

Waiting for the Water Taxi to take us downtown. The Grand bipeds skipping rocks and trying to out throw each other.  They sure have grown.  A lot of fun was had.

M tried to get creative.  Took picture peeking thru the pilings of the Water Taxi coming to get them. She said it actually looked way cooler in real life....

Brand new Ferris Wheel on the Waterfront.  At night is is all lit up with LED lights and one of the "buckets" is black and has "glass" in the floor so the people riding in it can also look down below them.   Probably won't take us 4 legger furkids on that either.  Not sure I would want to...

Not sure what's up with Her but she got a 2nd pic in this time too.  She had better start paying closer attention to what she's doing or I may have to find a new assistant.  Just kidding.. she works cheap so think I will keep her...BOL

M took lots of pics at the Aquarium. Some of the "critters" are very colorful.

Not sure what kind of fish this is but it is flat on the bottom.  It is a pretty yellow.

This waterfall was seen on the way out.  M says the pic doesn't do it justice.
Oh yes, I went to the vet last week and I am doing well.  I think only one more checkup at the end of July.  Especially if I behave my self and don't do twirls etc.  But I am a twirling kind of guy.  That is my happy dance. They say I have been trying to twirl a bit too much.  I do get to go on longer walks now but no stairs, switchbacks and other fun like that. Happy 4th to you all!!
