Another Wonderful Adoption Event!!!!

Well, we (M & D foster pawrents, me and Kassie a new foster) spent the day yesterday at an Adoption Event.  It was kool.  I have been in the rescue for about 10 months.  You know I am not getting any younger.  I think I am about 5 years old now.  My prematurely gray nose makes me look older. Older isn't bad. I like the look.Thalia: Chihuahua, Dog; Issaquah, WA
I am a bit fuzzy and you can't seem how beautiful I am - but take my word for it... bol
Thalia: Chihuahua, Dog; Issaquah, WA
It was cold out and M put on a striped muscle shirt and then a pretty pink jacket.  I think Pink might be my color... It was fun yesterday cuz some people actually were interested in me.  Maybe the pink jacket helped.

Kassie ~ Pending!: Schnauzer, Dog; Issaquah, WA
This is Kassie when she was only 4 months old.  She was adopted but her owners gave her back.  M doesn't understand why.   Good News though!!!

Kassie ~ Pending!: Schnauzer, Dog; Issaquah, WA
Kassie at 9 months the day M & D picked her up when she was returned.  They picked her up on Thursday and on Saturday she was adopted by a WONDERFUL family.  On Tuesday after she gets her Rabies shot, she will get to go to her new forever home.  She is going to be with some GREAT people who already seem to love her.  The Little Girl is pretty fantastic M says.  She has her own dog walking business and seems to be a natural working with us dogs.  Kassie and LG hit it off right away.  The family has worked with and rescued other dogs.  Oh yes, Kassie will have 2 other dogs to keep her company too.  (  Yay Kassie - )

Anderson: Terrier, Dog; Issaquah, WA
Shows how hard adoption events can sometimes be for us pups.  This is Anderson.  Maybe you remember when he was being fostered in our home.  He was a lot smaller then.  He is now 3 mos old and just tuckered out.  He is much bigger.  Besides his tongue out the side of his mouth his leg is just hangin' down.  He is so sweet and cuddly.  That's how he was when we had him.

Anderson: Terrier, Dog; Issaquah, WA
This is Anderson about 3 weeks ago.  Hope someone adopts him soon. He is so cute and has a great face and temperament.  Well, thanks Ernie and pack for letting me have the chance to work with M to tell you all about the event yesterday.  OOOOH yes --- Best news is   10 pups were adopted!!!!!   Later;;; Thalia

Hanah- Joplin, Mo tornado survivor - missing

Hanah is a Joplin, Mo tornado survivor (confirmed pics and sightings of her alive after the storm).
We know she survived; but her parents are still desperately searching for their baby girl.

It's very possible Hanah got connected to a rescue org, transported out of Joplin and either is currently being
fostered or has since been adopted. Please don't dismiss her as "impossible" to be in your local area.
Dogs rescued from Joplin have been transported all over the US.

Do you know anyone that adopted a big white american bulldog in the last 5-6 months?
Do you know anyone that helped transport or foster dogs rescued from Joplin?
Have you seen Hanah?

If you can answer yes to any of those questions please call Kari with any info you may have 417-529-8088.

If you adopted Hanah - please have mercy on her parents. The very last moments they had with her were filled
with terror, horror and fear. Hanah was literally ripped from her mom's arms as the F5 tornado destroyed their home.
Imagine living the rest of your life wondering what happened to your beloved pet, and with your last moments being so awful.
Please if you have her at least call and let them know she's ok. They are desperate to know where she is.

$2500 No Questions Asked Reward for any information that leads to Hanah's safe return.

Thanks to all of you for being such a great group and caring so much for your pets, rescues, and just being there for those in need.

More snow pics and our new foster Thalia

Hey everybuddy,  It's me Ernie.  Notice I don't have a leash ---- I promise I didn't move fast or do zoomies like I would like to.  Mom was proud of me.  I was careful.  Could hardly do anything different.  On top of the snow was ICE - (M says it was about 1/2" thick).  Made it hard to walk let alone do zommie fun.

Our big tree what shades us in the summer has a real case of the droopies.  Those branches are usually about 7 feet off the ground.  A few branches cracked and were on the ground but when the ice/snow melted most of them came off the ground.  We think M will be busy ....
Sasha exploring and checking things out.  She had a hard time walking too. Don't tell her I said so but she is getting older and moves slower most of the time.  EXCEPT when the cat comes to our back fence and wiggles his tail at her...
Mom's palm tree is drooping a lot too with the ice and snow.
M wondered if it would ever be the same.....we saw her "hitting" the branches and the ice and snow fell off...
Lucas was following his nose sniffing who knows what.  It had warmed up a bit this day and he even stayed out a bit with us and didn't wear a coat.  BUT as soon as we all went inside the little ones curled up right in front of the heater vent....
Not sure what Chica was checking out.. But she was busy sniffing things too.  You probably noticed we all did sniffies instead of zoomies.   Chica and Lucas are small enough they could walk on top and not sink down at all in the snow....
It was like a big tunnel/tent under the tree with the droopy branches.
Heard M telling D Sasha is sure getting white in the face.  They still love her lots though..
Wish M could get some better pics of me... she uses the excuse that since I am so dark it is hard to get good pics.  She just needs to work harder so you can all see my handsome self...
This is Thalia.  Our newest foster.  She is the 44th foster we have had.  She is about 4 years old.  M thinks she may be a bit older.  She is so sweet.  It seems like she has always been with us.  She is about 8 lbs.  We have gotten so used to M & D bringing in fosters, we meet them at the door to see who is coming in next.  When they go to an adoption event and come home we check to see if that one came back or if there is a new one.  Very interesting...
She likes to cuddle and fell asleep on D's lap.  Chica wanted to be there but was "content" to sit next to his lap and close to Thalia.
Bye for now.  We hope you all have power and warmth.    Ernie and the pack

We have Snow!!!

Sasha was  the first one out. She doesn't run and jump as much as she used to BUT she did really enjoy  being out in the soft snow. Mom was a bit slow with the camera.  We knew she wanted to get all 4 of us in one picture--- we had other plans  bol----

Chica and Lucas wandering and sniffing and checking things out.  They were enjoying this amount of snow but we didn't see them do any zoomies.  Would have liked to see them do that.  Not sure if Lucas had ever seen snow before.

A "good" butt shot of Chica and me (notice in this pic M let me off the leash- Not so smart cuz after I got done shaking the snow off - I took off running and playing.  M was busy trying to get me to slow down so she missed the best pics.
Sasha took over 2 soft stuffies.  She loves them but is always looking for the squeakers so she can "kill and destuff".

Chica took the pink baby  from Sasha who hung on to the orange and green one.  Poor Lucas was trying to figure out how he was going to get one OR maybe both of them....

Hang on Lucas... Chica is a strong puller..

Good Job Lucas!  How did you get both?

Nice job of sharing you 2.    I was supposed to go back to the vet yesterday ... good news is -  Lucky for me the snow was SO bad and the ice - I didn't have to go.... BUT they made another appointment for next week...Win some and lose some. Thanks for stopping by - over and out- Ernie for the rest of the pack.

This dog has rhythm!!

Saw this on Ellen DeGeneres show.  Bailey the Golden Retriever!! Loves music and has rhythm.

Have a great weekend. We might even get a bit of snow.  If so, will take pictures.  Looking forward to seeing Chica and Lucas in it.  This AM they went out in heavy frost.... should have had my camera as "daintily" as they were crunching thru it.  They walked across it on as few feet as they had to put down.

Just A Dog - adoptions - update Ernie

Happy Monday morning~~~!   Some good news!

Bullit was adopted Saturday!!! He now has a Shnauzer sister, 2 bipeds to play with, and 2 pawrents who really love him.  They promised to send lots of pics and let us know how he  is doing.  Can hardly wait!!!

Isabella was also  adopted!! She "picked out" a family with a little girl who instantly fell in love with her.  The family is really into dogs and the mom works with dogs and does dog massage and was I ever interested in that.  I like to  do it but don't have training. Just been reading. As of Saturday only 3 of Monica's puppies hadn't been adopted.  There was interest and possibilities.   Saturday was a VERY busy day with 20 adoptions.   WhooHoo!!!

Ernie is still resting but the good news if we can call it good is at this point the vet  doesn't see surgery in his future.  He does have arthritis in  his hips and one of them doesn't "fit" quite right.  His knee looks more like a strain/sprain but not a tear.  We are keeping him as quiet as possible, on drugs, and leashed when not confined.   He wants to run and play so BAD.

I saw this below and  liked it .  A "poem" called "just a dog" - I don't think there is anything as "just a dog".  Thought maybe some of you might also enjoy it!  Just click on the link  below.   Take care and enjoy the day.

Love to all  - Barb
PS:  thanks to the pack for letting me take over today!!!

Just A Dog - I hope that someday people can understand that it's not "Just a Dog". it keeps me from being "just a man" or "just a woman" -

Aspen and Bullit

Aspen  and Sasha.  (and backend of Anderson)  Aspen was 7 weeks old in this picture.  The "babies" like to drink out of this "water fountain".  Sasha was watching over her and just hanging out with the 3 little ones

A bit fuzzy but this is Aspen. Gonna miss her.  They got their first shots last weekend and Aspen was one of 4 of the 9 puppies that were adopted.(does that make sense?)  They won't actually go to their new home until after they have been spayed and neutered and micro chipped. That will happen on Thursday and then on Saturday, they can go with their new pawrents.  She is a real sweetie and her Brindle coloring is quite beautiful.
Below is a picture of our newest foster pup.  His name is Bullit. He has quite a story.  I have included the link below his picture.

Shot poodle looking for a new home
We love Bullit.  He definitely is a keeper. We would if we could!!!  He can stay with us for as LONG as it takes to find him the right home.  BUT he is so sweet, loving, etc that we are sure he will be moving on quickly.  It has been great having him with us and all 4 of our dogs  and he get along like they have lived together for a long time.  I love this little one.****Have a great day - Barb (Mom)
