What's missing??
Good Friday Mornin' to all our furiends. When you look at our pics, can you figure out what is missing??

This is Tanner,(a twin of John who now has a great forever home).
Tanner is a sweet dog who M & D keep calling John. We think he is going to end up being one confused pup...

Tanner and Chica playing tug. Please ignore the pee pad in front of the fireplace. Good thing is it hasn't been used. I been trying to get M to take it outta there. But she says " no, just in case...."
Hope you all have a Happy Halloween!!

Here I am with my 2 little buddies. Caya & Tanner. The rain had stopped so we headed outside to run & play growly bitey face & chase games.
Caya posing for new pics to put on Petfinder.
Caya cuddling with Sasha. She loves our big girl. She is always cleaning her face, her teeth, her eyes, cuddling & sleeping. If you ask me, Sasha puts up with a lot & finally after hourrrrrrs, she does a really low kinda growl. But I think she is a big pushover for the little ones.

What's a little rain
I'll tell you what's a little rain. Not what we had! We have had rain with big drops for 2 days. Even the worms were carrying umbrellas. (M couldn't get her camera to flash fast enough to catch a pic of one - so she did the next best thing. It certainly wasn't drawing a picture of one. She cheated & got one from the clipart on the internet.
Cats too had a problem. Lucky they found an umbrella to sit under until their ride came to pick them up.
Sasha & I are brave. We go outside in it. I'm not saying..... but Chica & the 2 fosters pretty much don't like going out in it. Guess they don't like the rain . Yes, that's right 2 fosters now. This keeps up we might need to add on. heehee...... Caya is still with us & M brought another one home yesterday from the Adoption Event. His foster had too many pups & needed a break. So NOW we have Tanner too. He looks a lot like John that was here with us for a while. M will be taking new pictures she says.
HOPE you all had a nice weekend. Thanks for dropping by.

Unsung Angels / Fostering
Hi, Ernie's Mom here. The above pictures are of Caya. Our 13th foster pup & is about 1 year old. . She is also very sweet & loving & lots of fun. She is learning to trust. She also came to us from a high kill shelter in California.
I know many of you who read Ernie's blog are fosters yourselves or help with transporting so many of these pups (sometimes even kitties) needing forever loving homes. There are so very many of these deserving furiends out there. We have been doing this for almost a year. MANY have been doing it for much longer & have saved/helped is some cases hundreds.
I wanted to take time to thank ALL of you who support these critters & help them. It can be a hard job but also very rewarding. Especially when they find loving homes & people to love & care for them. I think they bring out the best in all of us.
This poem was written by "Unknown" but it explains fostering well I think. Whoever wrote it deserves a lot of credit & thanks for sharing!! Hope you enjoy!
Unsung Angels.
Have you ever loved something enough to let it go?
Even though it breaks your heart to watch, you know, that in order to
flourish it's wings must spread. In order to grow it must move on and
look ahead.
Like a first child leaving the proverbial nest, Your heart aches, but
you know that it's for the best.
You have nurtured, nursed and taught all that you can, They were never
yours to keep, that wasn't the plan.
Could you volunteer to have this pain week after week? To break your
heart quite literally, so to speak?
Open your home, your heart and your mind, to the abused, the needy,
the unloved, the blind?
Could you nurse them back from pain and despair, make them understand
that love is out there?
Watch them come back to life before your eyes, knowing soon you will
say your goodbyes?
It's a special person who can foster a dog.
Turn around its life, bring sunshine through the fog.
Be a gentle hand, a calming voice and a loving ear. Soothe all the
pain away and calm every fear.
To love it so much after seeing its pain, you prepare to let go, to
find it a new family who you know can love it so.
And when your heart is breaking as you watch it walk away, open your
door to the next dog, knowing it will end the same way.
So to you angels out there who foster, mostly unsung, thank you from
all the foster babies, old and young.
Thank you from the families whose lives you have transformed, when you
gave them that bundle that you so much adored.
Without you these dogs would have far less a chance.
Have you any idea how many lives you enhance?
Do you know how many people stand back in awe?
You are utterly amazing, you gave it your all.
Thank you for having the courage to let go.
The strength to do it again, I admire you so.
To the dogs, you are angels, their saviors and their friends.
Just know each one remembers you, with love till the end.

Thanks to Ernie for sharing his time with me. I promise he has things to say so I will have to give up my ramblings.
Have a great week. We are back home again so will be downloading some pics & sharing them with you.

Good News & Not So Good News
Hi everybuddy, Hope you are having a good weekend. Good News & Not so Good News.
The Good News is:
*Cookie was adopted by some great people & she is now called Zoey. They think she is awesome & M says she really is.
*John is meeting his new pawrents tomorrow night. He was adopted by them Friday night. BUT they couldn't take him home that night because they were moving into their new place. Mom made a big mistake. She tries to convince us that she doesn't do that.
Well, after they had paid their money and signed the papers, that's when it happened.
M offered to keep John for them until they got more settled. WRONG!! M found out real quick that once the papers are signed & the $ received, the pup/dog belongs to them. For a couple of good reasons.... 1. If something happened to the pup while she had it it could be a legal problem 2. By doing that it made it harder to place other fosters with her. SO another lesson learned.
Not so good news:
John has to go to the vet tomorrow because he started having the diarrearrra . He has to get checked before meeting the new pawrents tomorrow night. Please keep paws crossed it is nothing..
Finally, I got in a tussle wif my cousin Murphy. He is a big yellow lab. He came into my space & I didn't want him there. So I growled & the fight was on. First time that ever happened. He got to go to the cyclocross bike races wif his M & D & guess what I got to do... I got/had to go to the vet. I got bited on the lip & a hole went clear thru it. THEN when they went in to clean it up & sew it they found more AND my whiskers shaved off on that side. Looks lopsided. M was thinking about shaving the other side so I don't look so lopsided.
All in all not the best of days --That is except the Zoey (aka Cookie) & John adopted.
Tomorrow when John goes to the vet, we are getting another little foster. Don't think she has a name yet.
Hoping you all had a nice weekend.

Not So Wordless Wednesday
Hi furiends, As usual lately my assistant has been taking her own sweet time to update my blog. I'm not sure she has a good excuse.... Just because the grand bipeds were here & she brought home a couple more pups for us to play with - not sure that's good enough...
This is Cookie. She is really sweet - white with brindle markings. She is 3 yrs old and about 6.5lbs. We think she will find a home soon. Who wouldn't like a face like that & a personality that goes with it.
GREAT NEWS!!! Porter found a new loving forever home last Saturday! The family has 2 kids & are active. He will get a chance to do lots & have kids to play with. We will really miss him. He really liked to play with me (Ernie). He also played with Sasha & Chica. Personally I think he favored playing with me though.
Remember John??? Well John is back with us. M & D brought him home Saturday after Porter was adopted. He wasn't doing too well in the other foster place we guess. He seems happy now & content.
John & Chica resting after a long time playing. He still needs a forever family of his own. He loves everyone & that includes kids.
Me, I just have to keep an eye on this family of mine. If I didn't who knows how many other pups they might bring here.
Mom made me include this pic of Sasha & Chica playing so they wouldn't feel too left out.
There is another adoption event this Saturday - hopefully the 2 fosters will find good homes. If that happens I know there will be MORE coming. That's probably a good thing. I heard M say there is another large transport coming.
PeeEss: Mom wants to apologize. There are those people out there who are voting for us in the Shelter Challenge. We were gone when it started & she didn't make arrangements for anyone to remind our group to vote. So we aren't in the running.
She is realllllly sorry she didn't let anyone know sooner. BUT thanks to those who have been voting & caring about us.
Ernie,Chica, & Sasha
