Enjoying Thursday

Hi Mom here.  We were outside enjoying the sunny day.  This beautiful Hummingbird hung around for an hour or so.  Just resting in the tree and watching.  He would fly to the telephone wire and then come back to this tree.  He was so beautiful.  I was hoping I would get a good video clip of him - using my digital camera.  The light blocked out the viewing screen so I aimed in the general direction. This is what I got.  Wish I would have zoomed in closer.

Here is a little better view of the Hummer.  Very colorful.

We finally got our pond up for this year. Now to get some plants.  Love the lighting effect.  Would really show up if it had been darker out.  This was just Dusk.  Hope you are all having a good week.     B

A Fine Sunny Day

Hi Furiends,  Look at me!  I am Outside!   This feels so good and I am loving this!

I even have my own bed and a shade over me to keep me cooler.  I know I am a cool dude but this is good too.

Guess I'll rest a bit. It's hard work snoopervising all the little ones playing and running around. 

Lucas taking a break from helping Mom weed and clean out the flower beds.  She IS cleaning them out too.  She took out a lot of plants that didn't do too well during the winter or that were old and not so good anymore.  Dad told her to stay away from him. :-) heehee

Our sun dog Chica soaking up the rays and heat from the gravel.  She didn't do much to help.  Said she needed her rest but we haven't figured out why.....

Lucas decided to take a break from helping and he was resting up from playing with Pumpkin.  You can check those 2 out in the video clip at the bottom of the post.

Our newest foster Pumpkin.  She was adopted a year ago and then returned because the people said they couldn't house-train her and that she was always peeing in the house.  Just want you to know she hasn't done that here and she is very sweet and fun and happy.  She loves people, kids, other dogs and loves to go for walks.

Vet News! :-)

Hey everybuddy, It's me Ernie.  Things are looking up.  A Great Visit with the Vet.  He likes  me and I think he is not so bad either. He gave me  a biscuit, called me Handsome AND took out my stitches AND  removed my satellite/cone of shame AND gave me some good scratches!!! A PAWsome day.  Still have 6 weeks of quiet BUT I am OK with that for now.  I thought this post was gonna be all about me - evidently M had other ideas.  She stuck in a video clip of Lucas playing with a foster named Blue.  Very nice fluffy tail on him.You will see me in a cameo appearance.   BOL

See that tail blur?   I am pretty happy now.  Mom caught my tail wagging. Life is good!

Don't know if you can see it but my scar is looking GOOD!

M says it won't be long before she is gonna give me a bath AND a haircut.  She says she can't see my eyes any more... I think I look OK and besides my face hair keeps the flashy thing outta my eyes.

Ernie Update

Hey Everybuddy,  Things are looking up!  Went to see Dr Vet.  I like him and he likes me.  Says I am a VERY good patient. ALSO next week the cone of shame will come off AND prolly the stitches will be out too!!!

Not too shabby! I got me a NEW fancy harness out of the deal.  It has stars on it - M says that I am a star... I like that!

These stitches look  BIG but the vet explained why.  Instead of just having the edges meet he lapped them cuz it would help later to keep the stitches strong.. or something like that.  Maybe it had to do with scarry tissue.

How do you like the haircut they gave me on my leg? I feel bald. It shows how long my other hairs are getting.  Pretty shaggy looking and M says it's hard to see my eyes most of the time.   She is talking about a bath before too long.  When the Vet says it's ok.  The vet is VERY happy with my progress and says I am doing great AND M & D are doing a wonderful job of making sure I (and they!) follow the RULES!  He had a dog in that had the same surgery as me on the same day BUT THEY hadn't been following the rules AND his leg is not improving like it should!  Guess I am glad M & D are making me follow them.  Not as much fun though.  Only 7 more weeks and I should be my old self...like that!

Ernie Update - Rosie

Hi Everybuddy!  I no more than got home from my "date" with the vet and Mom had her camera out!!  Dr Vet said surgery went WELL.  Mom isn't covering up my harirless leg on purpose.  There is an ice pack on my knee.  I kinda liked it.

I had trouble figuring how to lay down.  This is how I ended up..  Actually it was pretty comfy.  I am not sure about the satellite dish tho.  Mom was hoping we would get more channels but that hasn't happened yet.

My hair is getting so long Mom wondered where my eyes went.  It will be a while longer before I can get a bath.  AND a haircut.  Hope Mom doesn't trim it as close as they did the hairs on my leg.

Not exciting but I am getting a lot of rest.  I have to do this but it's not at the top of my list of things to do.  8 weeks seems liike a VERY long time.  Mom says it's a good thing I am not any bigger cuz she has to carry me down AND up the stairs for a while.  When she puts the ice on my knee I have conned her into laying down with me.  I like that and she massages me while the ice is colding my knee...

GG taking Rosie outside.  GG never had a pet of her very own.  Mom and her dad always were the animal/pet people in the house.  GG is enjoying having a pet of her own.All of our fosters were adopted so for right now Mom isn't taking any in.  She says it's because she wants to make sure she does everything right and follows the "rules" so I can get better as soon as possible.  I like that!   Thanks for typing this for me Mom.  I am not really up to typing right now.... hee hee...  Ernie

Yay for Missy!!!

Missy was adopted last night!!! She is now with a really nice family and her special friend will be an 8 year old boy who has wanted a dog for a long time.  Missy is shy at first butt we think they will become great friends.  They saw this video of her M put on PetFinder  and they were sold on her.  She loves playing with all of us so we were hoping she would have another dog to play with butt that little man will be good and have fun with her.

Seems kind of quiet around here now.  No foster pups!!  Just us 5.   M said she wants to wait to take another one until I am better and will be able to mover around better.  She says it's because I want to run and play too much and this way she can keep me quieter.... we'll see...
