An OOOPS! & Marymoor Park

M & D were gone for a couple of hours and I Ernie got bored. I found these laying on the couch. NOW shouldn't D know better than to leave them right where I am?????? This is me when Mom asked me what happened. She wanted me to come closer and really look at those magazines. What am I crazy??? NO Way was I going any closer. I think it may have been my evil twin that did the dirty deed. --- Surely I have one somewhere...
This is us at Marymoor Park a couple of days later. We met the 4 B's there. Haven't seen them for quite a while. They are there a lot but Mom doesn't get us there as often as we'd like. Mom tried to get all 6 of us in the picture but all she got of Benson was his tail and back leg and she totally missed Brody.
This is Sadie. She is a 4 year old Schnoodle. Bailey & I are great Schnoodles but we are the bigger version. Mom thought she was a cutie.. Very small. But I think we could play with someone as small as her if she wanted to play. She kind of hung out with her Mom.
Sasha & I cooling off in the water. They have some of the water blocked off so the Salmon can spawn.
At least Mom finally got a picture of the 4 B's. They are great and they are quite the athletic ball players. This time Sasha & I didn't really chase the tennis balls but we sure did have fun running and sniffing all the pee mail. There was a lot going on out there.... Here is Sasha in the water and it looks like Brody, Baxter, & Bailey coming out of the water. Sasha tends to stay in and wander around in the water.
This is what Sasha does. She has a really good sniffer, and when she finds a scent, she just wanders and tries to get whatever it is. Sometimes she even puts her whole big head down in the water to try and get it. Mom says maybe we should have tried training her to search for things underwater since she does it already. She has found old dead tennis balls, a half eaten pear (ick), etc.
I like the water but for some reason today I just went from side to side and only got my belly and feet wet. My friends out there know I can swim but maybe I just wasn't in the mood for it today or maybe I didn't want to mess up my new hairdo.
I am trying to stretch out to get the tennis ball. Didn't quite work the way I wanted. I slipped, got wet, and still missed the ball. How embarrassing. But I was having lots of fun anyway.
There it is again. I got it this time. Of course Mom missed taking that picture. She's got to
get faster on the draw with her camera. The 4 B's and Sasha. I am missing because I was at the other end of the water place.
We had a great time at the park and playing in the water felt wonnnderfull because it turned out to be a very warm day. It was even better because we got to meet and hand out with friends.

Poor Bambi!!

We sure had fun at the cabin as we usually do. But, poor Bambi met with an "accident". Here is a picture of what was left. He was a good old softie and lasted a long time. We'll miss him but Mom keeps a supply. Most she buys at Goodwill. She always checks them to make sure they have no bad things like button eyes & stuff that could hurt us if we swallowed them or something.
Sasha & I got to feeling frisky one evening when it was cooler. We started playing and Sasha got Bambi away from me. Actually I like to think I let her have it for a bit.
Sasha ended up with his head. I got his back half. I think she got the best & cutest half.
It was getting dark and the coolness sure did feel good after the hot day. In the background is our pool. It is fun too. It's good for drinking and playing in.
Mom let us keep playing and tugging. She said it was because poor Bambi was getting threadbare.
Earlier in the day Sasha & I were playing in and around the trees. I thought I was doing a pretty good job of hiding - until I saw this picture. Guess I'm going to have to work on my skills at hiding.
Sasha decided to take a rest. M & D put up an outside shower and Sasha took it over. After she checked out the new "structure" she went in and laid down. She told me it was cool and comfortable in there. Wonder what she would have done if they had started the water flowing?
Tug is our favorite game we play together. See what I did at the end of the video clip. Me thinks Sasha likes to pull longer than I do.
Have a good week.

Turkeys & Sheep

We have a very important job. We watch and guard M & D from critters & other stuff. Sometimes we even have to growl & bark a bit when we see strangers go down the road. Not many people pass by. When friends stop by and it is our job to go and greet them and escort them. We're good at it too. On our way to spend time at the cabin, we had to stop in the middle of the road. There was a warning of livestock in the road. WhooHoo was there ever!!!! LOTS of sheep, some sheepherders, and their dogs. It took a long time for them all to pass. They took up the whole width of the road. No traffic going either direction. We would have liked to go see them up clolser but M & D wouldn't let us out of the truck. It was hard just watching. Then we barked right in D's ear. Did that ever make him jump. heehee!!!! They just went on & on & on. They turned up the road on their way to another pasture. Those sheepherders and dogs were really busy keeping track of all of them. When they finally got going up the road and the traffic could move again, one of the dogs ran at our truck. Don't think he wanted us close to his sheep or . . . . . . . . ?
One afternoon a whole flock of Wild Turkeys (not the drink kind) was wandering along side our property. One came through the fence. Was he ever lucky we (Sasha & I ) weren't outside. But on second thought maybe it was a good thing we weren't out there. There were a lot of them. They didn't seem to care but Mom was standing right by the fence. They came up really close. Mom moved. She said she had taken enough pictures by then.
They were very busy eating & didn't seem to notice anything. But I'll bet they knew they were being watched.
In this video clip one of them finally notices and flaps his wings. They didn't seem afraid at all.
It was cool. Hope they enjoyed their feast.
We have more pictures for another post. Mom is still sorting them.
Thanks for visiting.

Almost Wordless Wednesday

We've been gone for about a week. Sure missed all our bloggin' friends. Mom is downloading and getting ready so I can do some catching up. Maybe I'll let Sasha do one. Mom took these after we had played realllllly hard at the cabin. We needed to get our rest so we could do it again. Do you think I have big feet?? Mom says they look big for a guy that isn't really big like Sasha. Here is Sasha's feet. She is twice my size but her feel don't look much bigger than mine. We will get around to visiting all of you. Hope you have a fun rest of the week. Ernie & Sasha

Animal Rescue/Literacy

Mom took us on 2 long walks. 2 1/2 hours in the morning and then 1 1/2 hours in the afternoon. We are pooped. We have to rest our paws. She forgot the camera again - she must be losing it.... Anyhow it was good with lots of sniffs and we met a couple or cute pups. They had also been rescued. That is so good. We see and hear about more about rescues all the time. That is GOOD!
Sasha is almost out but she hasn't put her paws in the air yet to rest them. Maybe she is too tired to turn over. Mom bought something off the Animal Rescue Site for a birthday gift for a special little biped person. Now she is getting emails about other offers. That's OK. The people/vendors that support the Animal Rescue Site as well as the others that are there do a good thing just by clicking on the sites even if they don't buy anything. How special is that???!
Anyhow - - - Mom copied the information below because she wanted to show how helpful the support of the sites is. This one is about literacy and how dogs help kids get into reading.
She thought maybe it might be of interest to some who might visit us.
Here it is:
Lift A Paw For Literacy In the low-income neighborhoods of Chicago you won't see shelves at after-school facilities packed tightly with books and the search for a classroom where children are growing up to be strong readers will be long and tiresome. What you will see is the look of frustration in the eyes of struggling young readers and the torn and tattered pages of books used about ten years too many. Enter: Sit Stay Read! Inc. Sit Stay Read! is a literacy organization whose membership includes trained, friendly dogs! Because reading aloud is critical to early childhood literacy, kids are encouraged to read to these attentive canine pals. Learning to read becomes fun, not frustrating. It's an unusual approach--but one that's yielded significant results. You can help Sit Stay Read! continue its mission: Every order placed today at The Animal Rescue Site store helps fund their efforts, at no additional cost to you! Or you can make a direct contribution with the purchase of our Sit Stay Read - Happy Tales for Wagging Tails Gift That Gives More™. Go ahead--sit, stay and shop now!
Thanks for visiting. This just shows how special we "animals" are. Although we think we are human sometimes.

Exploring Seahurst Park

This is us at Seahurst Park. It changed a lot since we were here last. It is much nicer. Maybe you can see in this picture Sasha & I each wanted to go a little different direction. This leash thingie did keep us closer & on the same path. The piece of land sticking out in this picture is where we usually go when we go down the trail to the beach by our house. That is SO nice. We can run and be off leash there.
Today was cooler and it was good fun here and many sniffs. The red thing did hold us back though. Getting ready to head to the beach. We almost pulled Mom off her feet. Although we did give her time to snap some pictures. We are so good & we do want to make sure she has some good pictures of us. How do you like my tongue hanging out. I am testing the air. Sasha is heading straight to the water. I kind of wanted to examine the logs that were along the beach.
This creek was running down the hill to the Sound. It sure was peaceful there. Would have liked to run free and splash in it.
Good sniffs. We're trying to figure what was here last. Whatever it was, it left a lot of good smells. Mom says sometimes we are reading novels.
We had a good walk. Yesterday though Mom took us on a 3 1/2 hour walk. Of course, she forgot the camera. So no pictures of that one. She said she missed a lot of good pictures then.
We saw tons of fisherman at Lincoln Park. The salmon were there and people were lined up on the beach about arms lengths apart. Busy place. Then we saw Many Many motorcycles getting on the ferry. Some bikers said they were going to a show of classic motorcycles.
They were some really nice peoples and they gave us lots of pets and smiled and talked to us and stuff. It was fun.
