Thankful Thursday

Good News!!! Bentley was adopted this past Sunday.(the 23rd).  His new mom is very excited and she will be great with him.   BUT the really even better news is::

She was thinking about a little playmate for him and we just happened to have gotten another foster the day before and happened to have him with us when went to the meet n greet for her and Bentley..
This is Noodles (now known as Jingles). What a wonderful caring lady!!! She fell in love with both of them and adopted both!! How awesome is that?!  They both get to go to work with her and have someone to play with.

This is Tillie.  She is about a year old and
is at  least part long haired Chihuahua.  We will be picking her up today.

Feeding time.  We still had Bentley - so there are 6 of us.  Mom is very proud of us. We don't bother any other pup and wait patiently (hover sometimes) to check the others dishes.
Sasha is watching the rest of us - hoping we don't want her special food.  Bentley is hard to see cuz he is so white - he blends in.

M and  D made a quick trip to the cabin to winterize it.  There is a lot going on rght now and just in case they can't get
back up there before the snows hit, they wanted to make sure the water lines etc were taken care of.

Sasha & I didn't get to go this time.  We stayed home with GG and took care of her. BUT those silly liittle ones got to go.  Not fair! BUT I have to admit we did a good job of takiing care of GG.

Chica, Lucas, and Rosie discussing why they are confined to the deck.  They are small so M watches out for other critters and eagles.  Guess she doesn't want anything to happen to them.

It was very nice being there and M and D wished they could have stayed longer.  Because of the many fires around the sky was very hazy and at times they could smell the smoke.  The fires were not real close but the air quality not so good.

They took a different route home because their usual route was sometimes closed because of smoke and pilot cars were used at times to move people over that highway. This was at Blue Lake.  Very pretty.

Looking south at Blue Lake.  Along this highway, the rocks sometimes looked like a mini Grand Canyon.  Some of the pictures M wanted she couldn't get  - no place to pull over.  She says she stores those in her mind for later.  Don't know how she does that - we think her mind is too full anyway.

   Looking North at Blue Lake.

Very dry and rugged.  Pictures don't do it justice.
Hope you all have a good day.  I am going to work on M to get us all outside for a walk.

Sasha & Ernie

Hey everyfuriend,  Finally Sasha and I got to go for a walk together.
Checking PeeMail and the neighborhood for any new
furiends...

Sasha is doing good after her fall on the stairs.  She is moving slower but
loving it all.  We both hve gotten  comfortable with using the ramp.  Sometimes though
I forget myself and jump off the porch. I am so happy to have  some freedom.

I am thinking Sasha is looking more ghosty or faded.  She is one of my best furiends .  As always she enjoys a GOOD sniff.

Well look who all stayed home frotoo m that walk.
Rosie,Lucas, and Chica.  Don't feel bad for them -
they got to go later.

Mom saw something she thought she would like to share.  OK Mom your turn.
Thanks Ernie...
I saw this video of a Pilot Project in San Francisco where people who were homeless but now getting their lives together & living in supportive housing were able to foster dogs from shelters who would otherwise have been killed. Such a cool idea.  Not all like the idea, think the money could be spent better.  But I am thinking this is worth a try and know how therapeutic an animal can be to a person.  This may help not only the foster pets BUT maybe even help the people.  Prisons have similar programs.  A win win ...

Thanks Ernie for sharing with me.  Hoping all have a great weekend and enjoy some walks and play time...

Ernie & furiends

Hey Everybuddy,  It's me Ernie.  Great news!  I can now be off leash and I an HAPPY.  It's been a long time but I visited the vet and they took xrays - Knee looks GOOD!  My assistant put together this video thing (she is still learning -  so please be patient with her -thanks) .  I met 2 new friends.  Rita and Mickey.  Rita is my girlfriend  :-)  She loves me and we like to kiss and snuggle when we meet.  Her Mom says she is a floozie - whatever that is..  I don't think so.  Mickey is the Border Collie mix - black and white, nice and loves people.  Not so much some dogs BUT he and I do fine on our walks.

Bentley has been our house guest for a while. When we went to our cabin we saw a friend she  "fell in love" with him AND his issues. And applied to adopt him.   So, in a couple of weeks we are going to meet her and she will sign  the papers and officially adopt him.  Then he will go home with her.  Somewhere in his little life things must not been too good.  He growls, nips and stiffens when picked up.  BUT he is LOTS better - hardly ever does it now.  Now he actually wants to be touched and stroked and goes up on M and D's laps and is learning to like being petted. He hardly has any teeth after his dental so if he does nip - he only leaves a dent.  Mom says it is really something to see where he is now compared to when we got him a month or so ago.  What a change.  He is playing with toys and is part of our pack.  He is 6 years old and about 10 lbs.
Hope you all are having a good weekend and getting to go for walks and play with your humans
