An Eating Kind of Day

Ernie here. Hello to all our furiends. Must have been the weather..... We were all HUNGRY. Bet you'll never guess what we are snacking on....heehee. Won't keep you guessing. We followed M, kissed her up, wagged our tails, made noosances of ourselves. Finally.. a snack GREEN BEANS, BABY CARROTS, DICED UP APPLES... What's with that. Does she think we are rabbits??? Roo & John were still wanting to snack so they visited the few strawberry plants M has. There was only a couple of ripe red ones. They snarfed them up!! Then they started in on the green ones. I can't imagine eating the green ones.
Guess Chica finally got her fill. She decided to take a sunbath & work on her tan.
Back at the strawberries. M did feed all of us & this snacking was after our 2nd meal of the day. Maybe the food was filled with just air???!
I decided I better check on the cats. That black & white one likes to parade right next to our fence & twitch his nose & wiggle his tail at us. I thing he is neener neenering us.....
We thought we'd better check out D to see what he had. He always has something & we were right!!! Mom gave him another baby carrot for all of us. What about some Chicken Jerky, or some liver treats?????
Thank you all for voting. We are continuing to move up in WA. We are closing in on 4th place. WhooHoo!! We won't be posting anything for a few days & will miss visiting all of you. We will catch up when we return. Have a good & fun week.
Ernie, Sasha, Chica & of course Roo & John
PeeEss: John & Roo are still looking to find their loving forever homes. This past weekend we thought maybe John had found one. But we haven't heard anything more. We'll see. One of these days the RIGHT people will come along for both of them.

Hi Ernie's Mom here. I gave Ernie the day off. I tried to include a video clip of a dog who is amazing. One can almost see him thinking. I believer there isn't any such thing as a dumb dog/animal. This proves it. They are smart in their own way. I apologize... I wasn't able to eliminate the lead in to the video. It only takes a few seconds so if you get past it, you will see a very smart pup. Sorry I couldn't isolate just the clip of the dog. Also, I couldn't get it into the body of the post and had to enter it as a gadget. Does anyone know of a way to get it in without adding it as a gadget???? Thanks This is a picture of John taken for the Portugese Water Dogs Red Bandana Day. Guess he wanted to be the star in his own picture. Ernie, Sasha, Roo, & Chica were willing to pose together. Roo & John are becoming attached to us & us to them. So we hope that someday soon the right people will come along for them. Roo's deformed right front leg (she was born with it) doesn't slow her down a bit. She is a very fast runner & enjoys running & playing with the others. Especially John & Chica. Both Roo & John are people lovers.

Thank you ALL who are continuing to vote for us (PUP in Issaquah, WA) We are in 5th place in WA with 5.33% of the WA votes. Up from 5.18%. The closest shelter in #4 position is showing 6.44% of the WA votes. All your voting is APPRECIATED by all of us who foster & volunteer with PUP AND by all the furiends who we are able to help. THANK YOU!!!!!

ME-KWA-MOOK PARK

Hi furiends, It was a pawsome walk thru some woods we never been thru before.. It wasn't a big park but had trails, great sniffs, ups & downs, & something what M called "bushwacking". You can't see it well, but in the middle of this place is a rope swing. Didn't expect to see something like that. Our friend helping Mom with our leashes while M took some pictures. Would have been nice if we coulda been off da leashes.....
We walked by some REALLY big old trees. Sammy & Hana's Dad went with us. There were enough peoples so each one could hold a leash. We pups had to keep track of the hoomans so they wouldn't get lost... hee hee... Pretty awesome tree with all kinds of burls & knots & it was very tall too.
This nurse log was big. We bet at one time it was at least 5 or so feet around.
At a fork in the road, deciding which way to go. We were waiting for Hana & the Dads to catch up. This is Sammy's Mom getting ready to give us treats. Almost the best part of our long walks.
The greenery was "lush" as Mom called it. We thought lush was something else.??? Sometimes the trail almost disappeared. But I, Ernie the Schnoodle was on it. I showed them where to go. The brush didn't bother me or Chica, or Sammy or Hana , cuz we could duck under the branches. The hoomans was another matter.
Looking out thru the trees we could see the water. In this pic it looks more like sky or fog or something. But it really is water.
Sammy & I leading the way this time. This part didn't have any nettle things. Sammy's day wore pants that let his legs show, & he didn't like those nettle thingies.
Here I am again, in charge of where we are going. That's my story & I am sticking to it. See how nice the trail I chose this time is. Am I good or am I good????
The hoomans liked this part of the trail. It was pretty, peaceful, & uphill. Heard them saying it was a little steeper that they thought at 1st. But they liked that part.
We worked our way out of the trees & forest & walked to the beach & along it. The tide was in so we couldn't go in the water but it was all good.
It was a great walk & we slept well that night. Too bad Sasha, Roo, & John didn't get to go on that one with us. Mom said she was going to take some of the others next time.
Thanks for voting for us. You all who are voting for us, we would hug and give you kisses if we could. You know those slobbery, licks we pups can give....We are on a plateau, and sitting at #5 in WA state. So much better than the last Shelter Challenge. It helped that we started at the beginning of it rather than part way thru it.
Thanks for visiting us. We saw lots of pups & kitties with red bandanas on the Portugese Water Dog Blog. This is going to be fun. We can get to meet & visit lots of new people. Thank you Mom of the PWD's. You did a great job!!!

Sunshine!! & Lincoln Park

Hi furiends, Ernie here. It was a sunshiny day & we went to one of our favorite places. Lincoln Park. I am trying to get everyone's attention, & get them moving so we can explore & get our sniffers working. The 2 leggers were busy looking at the scenery & talking. We went along the beach & met some nice 4 legged furiends. M didn't get a picture but there was a very sweet PitBull & a German Shepard. Both of them were rescues too. We walked together for awhile. Mom said it was good "socialization"or some such thing. Chica did very well & she didn't growl or anything.
We wandered & sniffed along the beach & on the trails up from the beach. Great sniffs.
Hana is one of our furiends. She & her Dad went with us. They lives just down the street from us.
Sammy & Chica - waiting for the hoomans to quit checking out the view. All of a sudden there was a BIG sound of the waves hitting the shore. BUT no boats or ships in site. The hoomans never did figger out what that was all about.
I had better things to do than wait for them to get moving again. So many sniffs, so little time to check them all out. Think a squirrel just went this way...Sometimes they just sit & watch people. They don't seem afraid.
Beach view.
Those round tubes are the vents for the restrooms. They are built into the hill.
After the walk, the 1st thing Chica did was to take a nap. Maybe her little feets were tired??? It was warm so M put some water in our pool. Check out the video clip. It was her first time seeing it and she actually got in all by herself to check it out. M & D thought it was cute the way her lil butt went up in the air when she jumped in & the way she kept at least one foot in the air. Probably more pool pics later. Always an adventure to go there. We (M & the hoomans mostly) were hoping to see the Bald Eagles. But they were nowhere to be seen.

Thanks & an Award

Hi everybuddy, Ernie here. D was trying to take a picture of me. I think I did a good job showing off my nose. I think it is a handsome one. We want to thank all our furiends who visited with their good thoughts about our furiend Tonka. We know he is in a better place & appreciate your comments. The 3 Mexicans. Chica, Roo, & John (hiding his head). They always try to keep M's chair warm & ALL of them want to sit on M's lap. I think they are trying to take it over.
Sasha doing her impression of something. Not sure what - maybe you know what/who it is. We don't.
We received a pawsome award from our furiends MollieJo & BoBo of the Dog Eared. We were surprised & felt very lucky & happy. Thank you very much!!

2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Pass the award along to 15 bloggers who you have recently discovered & you think are fantastic. This is the HARDEST part because we think all who visit us are Fantastic! We picked 15 BUT we want to give it to all who visit us if they want it. You deserve it too...
1. We want to thank MollieJo & BoBo & Uncle Puppy for the award. We are so glad you are our blogging furiends.

6. We like to con people out of treats.
7. I Ernie like baths. Roo,Chica,& John are getting used to them. Sasha is so big M can't get her in the tub so she gets baths out in the yard or swimming or sometimes to a person called a groomer for a spa day.
