The Power of Puppy Love With The Pupsters on a #FiveSibes Flashback Friday!

Image
Our FiveSibes Pupsters! Ahhh, is there anything sweeter than puppy breath? Today, we are fondly flashing back to when our Pupsters, who are now 10, were just little two-month-old pups! The bond they formed as puppies and have kept over the years is just amazing. What a joy to see these siblings always have the love and security of each other, never to be separated! They warm my heart today just as they did when they first joined our family! What a joy! "Happiness is a warm puppy." ~Charles M. Schulz "Joy is raising three puppies together!" ~Dorothy Wills-Raftery I have heard folks say "you shouldn't raise littermates together" - and I say hogwash to that! It has been one of the greatest experiences for my puppies and me! As a matter of fact, I just recently penned an article called "Puppy Power: Yes, You Can Raise Littermates Together" in my monthly column over at 4Knines blog. You can check out my tips HERE!  ( Just in case y...

Flashback Friday: And They Call it Puppy Love!

Image
Traveling down Memory Lane can be such a warm and wonderful thing to do. Looking back on our FiveSibes warms my heart, and reminds me of the kabillion fun and loving moments we've had together. While I miss my furangels something fierce, especially my big buddy boy Gibson, being a photographer and chronicling their almost every move serves as a wonderful reminder of all the happy, crazy, and joyous times spent together. It's a way of bringing back those days and getting to spend a few moments visiting with our pets and watching them grow all over again. Oh, and the laughs of raising not one, not two, but three Siberian Husky puppies together in addition to our original two, who just one- and two-year-old pups themselves, is one of those extra special momentous experiences in life I am so blessed to have! "You raised and trained THREE puppies at once?" is a very common question (along with raised eyebrows and wide eyes!) I have been asked over the years. Yes, we d...

Puppy Love on a Frisky Flashback Friday!

Image
Many times folks ask me what it's like raising three puppies at once or what's it like living with five Siberian Huskies, with three of them puppies? While it is a lot of work...it is SO fun! While looking through photos and videos for today's post, I came across a few videos seven years ago, June 2008, when the "Pupsters" Wolf, Chloe, and Bandit were just a mere five months old, while big brother Gibson was two-years-old, and surrogate momma Harley was just three. The many hours of just watching them all interact is something I will remember ~ and smile at ~ fondly forever.  Happy Flashback Friday! Flashback Fridays are brought to you by us - the FiveSibes - and our co-host, Love is being owned by a Husky , each Friday. We hope you'll find a photo or video from Memory Lane, post it, and link up to our blog hop each week! If you don't catch it on Friday, you can link up any time during the week! It All Began With A Beautiful, Blue-Eyed Sibe Smile on a Flashback Friday!

Image
My journey to becoming the FiveSibesMom, unbeknownst to me at the time, all began 10 years ago with the addition of this beautiful, blue-eyed, eight-week-old Siberian Husky puppy who was to become our future FiveSibes alpha queen and surrogate momma to our three Pupsters...the one, the only, Harley Mari! Oh, and what a wonderful, blessed journey this is! As a photojournalist by trade, it has been such a pleasure to segue my writing and photography features and educational stories into writing and sharing my photographs to shine a light on the wonderful breed of Siberian Huskies and to share our FiveSibes lives with our readers. Today's flashback is not only filled with joyful memories, but a wonderful opportunity to happily reminisce and share the origins of our amazing, loving, and oh-so-lovable FiveSibes! The whole purpose of my starting this FiveSibes Flashback Friday Blog Hop was so we can all have the opportunity to stroll down Memory Lane and relive those younger days ...

Flashback Friday #29: Puppy Originals

Image
"Time flies, but the memories collected along the way can never be replaced." ~Ashley Tisdale With most of my photography today being shot digitally, I love coming across actual photos...it's like a sudden surprise that takes me back to when the moment was frozen in time on film. A moment I can hold in my hand and gaze upon as it drifts me back in time. While I do love the digital technology of today, there is just something about the feel and smell of a photograph. About the same way I feel about newspapers - reading them online can be such a convenience, but this old-school photojournalist still loves the feel and snap to an actual newspaper! This photo flashes back to when Gibson and Harley (our two "Originals" as I like to refer to them, the leaders of our FiveSibes pack family) where just pups. Gibson, who was about six months old here, was even smaller than Harley, who was just a year-and-a-half old pup herself! My how times have changed...now Gib...

Flashback Friday #7: Pupsters' First Bath

Image
The Pupster Cuddlebugs: Baby Chloe, Wolf, and Bandit This is one of my favorite photos of The Pupsters' taken right after their first bath! They fell asleep in what my daughter dubbed the "puppy pileup" - a tradition they would keep! They always loved to sleep all cuddled up to and on top of each other, and when it's chilly, they still do snuggle together! Even though Chloe has remained the real cuddle bug of the bunch, snuggling up to not only her sibemates, but one of her favorite spots to be right up against big wooly brother Gibson! Flashback Friday #6 ❤ "The Originals"

This is one of my all-time favorite pup py photos of the "or iginals" of the FiveSibes - Gibson with his true love Harley. Even here, he has already grown to the same size of Harley, who was just a year and one month old here, and Gibson was just a young pup of about seven months! ❤ "I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love. Flashback Friday #2! A Blog Hop!

Image
❤ Puppy Gibson  ❤ We love Fridays! And now even more so! Last Friday, I shared the story of how while flipping through some photos of my furkids when I came across some of when they were babies. What a treasure! I immediately strolled down Memory Lane with my daughter reminiscing about the many adorable, crazy things they use to all do as puppies! Oh, that stage sure does go by all too quickly! So, in honor of puppyhood, I've decided - with great cheers from many of you - to do a Flashback Friday series, featuring puppy pics of the Sibe kids. Please join in! Grab the button, stick it on your blog along with a photo of your furkid(s) and let's all have fun strolling down Memory Lane together! I'm hoping this will be a Blog Hop, so be sure to link up to that as well! Here's two pics for this week - the top one is of my wooly boy, Gibson, on his first day home at age four months! He was such a cute furball. That night, he slept on my lap (he was already a big boy at...
