A Spiritual Sign From the Rainbow Bridge

Image
FiveSibes Harley doing what she  loved best, s now zoomies! Do you believe the special human-canine bond can be so deep, that the connection lasts even when our beloved pets have journeyed to the Rainbow Bridge? Do you believe they are capable of sending us signs? I absolutely do. Today, is the first day of Autumn, the start of my FiveSibes favorite time of year when the cooler temps arrive followed by zoomies in the crunchy leaves with snowy days not too far behind. Today also marks 10 days since our beautiful beloved momma girl, Harley, earned her furangel wings. In her memorial tribute post , I mentioned that our girl did indeed send us a sign on the day she crossed over. And in true Harley style, she really did. Or, at least I believe she did.  Sometimes the signs sent by our pets are obvious. Others more obscure. Sometimes we are so full of grief, our eyes are closed to those very brief moments where a message can be sent, but never to be seen. And sometime...

Honoring Gibson & Chloe on Pet Memorial Day

Image
Remembering our beloved Gibson and Chloe on National Pet Memorial Day, and every day. "You came into my life one day, so beautiful and smart, my dear and sweet companion, I loved you from the start. And though I knew the time would come, when we would have to part, you'll never be forgotten, you left paw prints on my heart." ~Unknown Back to FiveSibes Blog Home Page

Goodbye Sweet Chloe ~ Love You, CoCo Puff

Image
"Chloe" Van Wylde of Mystic Mountain Today was not at all what we expected. While the day dawned a beautiful, sunny, breezy Saturday...just one phone call catapulted our morning into a morning of mourning, filled with shock and sadness as we helped our sweet Chloe earn her furangel wings and journey North of the Rainbow Bridge to join her older brother, Gibson. Puppy Chloe and her momma, my Daughter. To say losing Chloe to sudden acute liver failure was a total shock. Her April vet check went well for an 11.5 year old pup with arthritis. While Chloe's legs had arthritis issues that have been steadily worsening to the point she was on medication, she was still a healthy, always happy girl.  Her leg issues stem back to when she was just four and during a leap up onto my daughter's bed, she blew out both of her legs, requiring her to go in for emergency double imbrication surgeries. So thankful at the time when she actually walked out of the vet (althoug...

Party North of the Rainbow Bridge, Gib!

Image
Happy Birthday to my beautiful furangel, Gibson. Today, he would be 12 years old! My, how time keeps marching on.  Have a wonderful party North of the Rainbow Bridge, Gibbie. I know you have Hu-Nanny and so many furfriends there. Enjoy some fun snow zoomies, and as I see the snow falling here, know I will be thinking of you on your special day.  Love you, G-man. For always. “We may not be together in the way we used to be. We are still connected  by a cord no eye can see. So whenever you need to find me, we’re never far apart. If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.” ~Unknown Author Oh, I so miss those precious Gibbie kisses! Gibson's 9th Birthday in 2014, his last with us. "Today's special moments are  tomorrow's memories." ~Genie, The Return of Jafar Return to Home Page

Ode to a Sled Dog: Chance of Ojibwa

Image
"Chance" Lead Dog, Ojibwa Kennel  9/28/04- 7/10/17    Today, my FiveSibes and I are dedicating our blog post to the loss of a great sled dog - the beautiful "Chance," Karen and Dave Hill's amazing lead dog of the Ojibwa Kennel team from Minnesota. You can follow them and their beautiful sled dogs on their Facebook page here. I'm sharing Karen's heartfelt words here in her ode to her special sled dog and about how much this boy meant to her: "In my early years of mushing I wanted so very much to have a Seppala Siberian in my kennel. Back then, we didn't have social media, so finding a breeder of Sepps wasn't as simple as pushing a button. Around 2002 or 2003, a friend of mine said she planned to breed one of her dogs and asked if I would take a puppy because she wanted to be sure they would go to good homes. I was elated to hear that she would be breeding to a Seppala. Of course I said yes. When the pups were a few wee...

Forever Golden: Dedicated to Sugar

Image
Today, we bid a golden farewell to an icon in the blogging world - Sugar, the Golden Retriever, star of Golden Woofs .  Sugar truly needs no introduction as I think we'd be hard-pressed to find a blogger who does not know of the beautiful Sugar, whether it is from the Tasty Tuesday blog hop where Sugar shared so many (p)awesome Tasty Treat recipes with all of us, to her (This Moment) See Beautiful blog hop, and the wise words of Sugar's Golden Wisdoms, It truly is a sad time here in Blogville when we lose a friend. While we may be a virtual community, our friendships and support for each other are true; both in good times and sad times, we are there for each other as most of us know all-too-well the deep sadness from the loss of a very special furry best friend. It is through such loss, that we can reach out to support another who is going though one of life's most heartbreaking times. I wish us all only happiness and "bea...
