The FiveSibes and I are so very excited to make this wonderful announcement! We are so pleased to announce the "birth" of the newest treats - Tico Nugget Bites - a healthy homemade b iscuit from the fabulous Vermont bakers at House Wolf K-9 Dog Biscuits who h ail from the Edelweiss Bakery & Cafe family! The House Wolf Tico Nugget Bites are named after a very special Siberian Husky puppy named " Quantico" - " Tico" for short and he is in care of a foster family through Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue . Tico came into Tails of the Tundra's care with a challenging congenital disorder, Spinal Nephroblastoma. He just finished receiving radiation therapy after surgery removed 80% of the tumor pressing against his spinal cord. With the relief of the pressure, mobility of his hind legs is improving! We are all hoping and praying for this beautiful boy to heal and have a shot at a long, healthy, happy life.  Our tha nks go out t...

The sled dog team was ready! This past Saturday, we had the pleasure of being at the Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue's 10th Annual "Tails on the Trails" Husky fundraising hike that was held in the beautiful Warminster Community Park in Pennsylvania. When we were invited by TOTTSHR to come, I was so excited! I've always wanted to attend, and have participated with the Sibe kids as "remote" walkers in the past to help raise funds for this wonderful rescue. This was my first year there, and it was great! I met so many beautiful Siberian Huskies and other canines, as well as a lot of very nice people, including some readers of this blog and my FiveSibes: Siberian Husky K9 News & Reviews Facebook page who were fans of Gibson, Harley, Wolf, Chloe, and Bandit! There were some "The Sibe Vibe" listeners, too!  Our Harley all decked out! I had fun signing some books, shooting photographs, and also doing a little shopping of my own! ...

Our FurAngel Chelsey with puppy Harley, circa 2005 I was flipping through some photographs and came across some from when Harley and Gibson were pups! What a pleasant surprise to find these - like jewels - that slipped out from between the pressed pages of a book. With everything being digital nowadays, having an actual photograph to look at versus checking one out online or on our phones is actually quite rare. I was still shooting with a film 35mm camera when Harley and a while later, Gibson joined our family, which consisted, at the time, of just one dog - our rescue German Shepherd/Akita, Chelsey who we adopted as a puppy. Reminiscing over the photos, I thought, "Wouldn't it be fun to do a 'Flashback Friday' every Friday featuring pics of my furbabies when they were pups?" They grow up so fast; it will be nice to take time to reflect upon the joy these puppies have added to our lives by featuring a different photo each Friday. Days go by so fast, som...

"Hike!" is a very important word in the Husky world vocabulary. In musher-speak, it means to get going, but today I'd like to talk about a different hike - the upcoming Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue's (TOTTSHR) annual "Tails on the Trails" Husky hike and fundraising event that will take place on Saturday, September 29 - and this year marks their 10th anniversary!
