Spring Has Sprung on Memory Lane on a #FiveSibes Flashback Friday!

Image
It's almost hard to believe after our big blizzard, that almost all of the two feet of snow has now disappeared, and just four days ago, we welcomed in the first day of spring! Time sure does fly. Above is one of my favorite action photographs of my furangel Gibson, taken one spring long before his weak hind end issues began. He ran freely ahead of the pack, so full of happiness and joy as he felt the new spring in his every step! Ah, this is a dog's true happiness, and mine to behold such a sight! How I miss those days, but am so grateful I have them embedded in my memory for all days, pulling them out like a book on a shelf, to relive and smile at all over again. "It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade." ~Charles Dickens, Great Expectations Please don't forget our upcoming FiveSibes #LiveGibStrong 3rd Annual Purple Day® for Epilepsy ...

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! 'Tis the season of rebirth. A time to reflect on the past and be thankful for all the good things in our lives, including the love and times spent with loved ones who are no longer with us. For me, it is a season of firsts...this is the first Easter without my dear Mom and my beloved Gibson. I am still trying to adjust to life without both of them...and it is very difficult to do. But they both loved life so much, the best way I can pay tribute to them is to live it as they did, embracing each new day, each moment, and greeting every day with a smile. I miss them both so much every single day, but I know they will be with me in my heart and memories forever. I've been blessed to have them in my life, and they will be forever missed. May they be enjoying Easter together! The Husky kids enjoyed their Easter! The Easter Bunny left them adorable and very festive Easter tin buckets filled with frosted holiday-shaped cookies and a pull toy (from Sassy's Goodi...

Spring Fever on a FiveSibes Flashback Friday!

Image
"It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want--oh,  you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!"   ~Mark Twain Woo! Spring has sprung and with it an excitement that fills the air as we anticipate a season of rebirth and renewal! It's a refreshing time of year where we prepare to spend more time outdoors in our yards, barbequing, outdoor games, getting the pools ready, and running and playing on the green grass! In this Flashback Friday photo, my boy Gibson is feeling a bit of spring fever as he lopes across our muddy yard! This photo was taken three years ago, prior to his fall. I do so miss the days of his running carefree, but am thrilled he can walk again. So I look back fondly, but look ahead feeling blessed and hopeful. Here's to a wondrous spring for us all! Happy Easter!

Image
We want to wish all our furpals and families a very Happy Easter! In getting ready for the Easter Husky to show up, the silly FiveSibes had a little JibJab fun: We also had a good time putting out the special personalized handmade Easter egg bunnies created for each of our FiveSibes last year by our good friends  Holly & the Huskies . It's a favorite decoration! Please keep in mind that while we love our Easter treats, especially that chocolate bunny, many of these foods are not safe for our dogs to eat. Please be sure to keep well out of your dog's reach all chocolates, alcohol, sugar-free candy and gum (Xylitol is toxic to dogs), raisins, and nuts. Other dangers include ingestion of:  foil wrappers, fake Easter grass, watch batteries for toys, plastic from eggs & toys, Easter lily plants, and onions. Please keep your canine companions safely away from burning candles, hot stoves, and the open flame of BBQ grilles. If you are having company visit...
