A Spring Tulip

Hi there! I think all of the spring flowers coming out has got me reaching for my tulip stamp again! Here is a spring card to share with you.
I cut a piece of watercolour card 9 x 20cm and sprayed it with Distress oxide sprays.

Once this was dry I sprayed water through the circles dinkable to make a faux bleached effect.
I stamped little patches of the script stamp in  tea dye distress ink onto the background
Next I used morning mist versafine clair ink to stamp the tulip onto the panel.
I coloured it using ecoline pens. At this point I decided to make the tulip more dimensional.
I stamped the flower twice in Versafine Clair charming Pink, cutting off the petals that are to the rear of the flower on one of them. I then shaped these and attached them using 3d glue. I also added a few highlights in white gellyroll pen.
I stamped a speckled border around the edge of the panel in vintage photo distress ink
Finally I stuck the panel to an ivory DL card and added a sentiment stamped in brown ink.
Here are links to the items I used:
Distress oxide sprays (I used twisted citron, squeezed lemonade and spun sugar)
Brown, grey and pink versafine clair ink
Ivory DL card

Tree star tutorial

To make the tree star you will need Jus-cutz scalloped star dies, a Be Creative glue wand, some double sided tape, some good quality, 160gsm papers (like these Winterland ones from Be Creative) and a length of ribbon.
1.First cut two scalloped stars the same size. You can choose whichever of the dies you want to fit your paper.

 2. Next score from each point to the 'inny' opposite
 3. Fold, so each point of the star is a mountain fold and each 'inny' is a valley fold.
Your star should look like this. Complete the steps above for the second star.
 4. Pinch the end of each point of the star so it is flat
 5. Add a blob of glue from the glue wand to each point except one
6. Pinch the points together, making sure that one point stays open.
 7. Make a bow and a loop from the ribbon.
 8. Wrap the double sided tape around the loop of ribbon and attach inside the open point,
before pinching the final point together.
 9. Lay the star flat and attach the bow with the glue wand, trimming the ends of the bow as needed.
You can decorate your star with a stamped image, die cuts or lots of glitter or glitter glue - it is up to you.

Inkylicious Ink Duster Tutorial

After a little persuasion from Meg we have made a video tutorial and I now have my very own You tube channel! I am popping it on here and it is also on my Tips for Ink Dusters page if you want to find it quickly.
All filming and editing has been done by Meg, and I have to say I think she has done a great job! Now I know how long it takes and what it all entails I will do some more, eventually! It is of a quality that will stand being seen at full screen too. Here is the finished card that I made.
and a couple of close ups to show the sparkle from stickles and a silver gel pen.

It is a little different to the one shown on the end of the video, as that was my practice run before Meg recorded it. I hope this makes it clearer how I use my ink dusters, and how easy they are to use. There are more hints and tips on the ink duster page here.
Edit: For anyone overseas who likes Inkylicious products, there are some available on the Joanna Sheen website - just type inkylicious into the search box.
