Music

The theme at Allsorts this week is Music, so I thought I would join in with a couple of guitar cards I made recently. The guitar stamp and the mandala stencil on the first is from Bee Crafty, and the second has the soundwaves dots stamp (Bee Crafty) and a variety of stencils in the background. For both I used oxide inks.

On both I applied a layer of glossy accents over the guitar. Here is a close-up.
Before I go I thought I would share a few photos from our recent trip to Wales. We visited Powis Castle and as usual the gardens were alive with butterflies and bees. I have a list of plants I would like one day, based on some of their borders 😄.

Thanks for looking and for all your lovely comments.

June at Stamping Sensations

It is the first Sunday of the month and time for our June challenge at Stamping Sensations. This month we have a lovely easy theme....
********Anything Goes********
My Card this month features stamps from our sponsor, and the backgrounds are a mixture of brushos behind the sax player, and distress inks on the background through a stencil.
Even though it is an easy theme, we need you to play by the rules:

Please can I remind you we are a stamping challenge so must see a stamped image which reflects the theme as the focal element of your artwork , this means:

Stamping must be the central point of attention and interest
We are pleased to welcome back Visble Image as our sponsor this month, with a fabulous £25 store voucher for our lucky winner. There are some wonderful new stamps and stencils on their website that are on my shopping list...😉
Do pop over to the challenge blog and take a look at the fabulous creations from my talented team mates, may featuring Visible Image stamps!
Thanks for looking, and I look forward to seeing your entries.

Another December Birthday

I made this card for one of my colleagues who has a birthday next week. The stamp is from Penny Black, and was coloured with promarkers. I added a few prima flowers, some die cut leaves (Marianne designs) some very old paper from my stash and a snippet of ribbon. Lots of snippets on this one, so I'm entering Di's crafty snippet challenge for a second time this week! I know, I am a bit like buses. Don't see one for ages then two come along at once, lol! Thanks for all your well wishes. I am definitely feeling a lot better than I was on Saturday. I managed nine hours sleep into Sunday, and I think it did me the world of good! Still got the cough, but I am not coughing half as frequently as I was. Thanks for looking!

A couple of snippet makes

Here are a couple of snippet makes I made about 3 weeks ago, but haven't got round to blogging yet. The first was a maternity leave card for my boss. Those of you who are regular visitors will know this is the fourth maternity card I have made recently. I don't know which chair it is Di, so I am playing safe and not sitting down at all! The digi image is from Mo's Digital Pencil coloured with promarkers.
My second card was for a TA who was leaving. Please forgive the simplicity of it and the dodgy stamping on the left, but it was made after a meal out and a few glasses at about midnight! The music stamp is an Inkylicious stamp and the guitar was from Dimension Fourth a while ago. The snippet in this one is the copper mirriboard. I'm entering them both into Di's crafty snippets challenge, where I haven't been for so long I bet she thought I'd been expelled!
Thanks for looking x

Music for a man

Here is my entry for the Stamp Man's 4th challenge, where the theme is musical. I am also entering it into the last ever Rosie D's challenge where the theme is 'for a man'.
I started off with a sheet of white card, colouring it with Broken china and Dusty Concord distress inks applied with a shaving brush. I stamped music (Stampourium), notes (Aspects of design) and swirl (Paper artsy) in Weathered wood over the background then sprayed it with hydrangea blue and lucky shamrock green starburst stains. I stamped the notes again in Chipped sapphire DI, before stamping the Guitar (Aspects of Design) in Versamark and embossing with detail white EP. The background card was staped with versafine and brayered with big and juicy Waterfall (blue end) and soothing sunset (Purple end). I added a couple of ribbons and mounted onto a white square card. Here is a close-up where I tried to capture the sparkle from the Starburst Stains.

The Stampman

I also get to display this for using Aspects of design stamps!
Thanks for looking, and I hope you get some sunshine today!
