Tuesday Taggers with silver, gold and purple

Our lovely Ildiko has chosen the theme this week at Tueday Taggers, and she has chosen silver, gold and purple with some stamping. I am beginning to think about Christmas (I know, a bit later than most!) and came up with a tri fold tag card.
The poinsettia stamp is a cling one from Magenta coloured with distress inks and has a bit of tulip paint, stickles and glossy accents added. I mounted on silver mirriboard. The corrugated card was sprayed with a variety of creative colour sprays (Crafty Notions) in shades of purple and gold. The base card is a pale gold pearlescent card that has been partially run through the cuttlebug with the divine swirls folder. The ribbon was a gorgeous find on our last trip to Sir Stampalot and the tinselly cord was a generous donation from Megan's stash.
This will be my last post for Tuesday Taggers for a while, as I'm taking a break whilst things are a bit hectic at work with post Ofsted and Christmas preparations.
A quick update on the home front. Steve is a dab hand with the crutches now and is able to get about the house reasonably well. He even ventured out to the postbox on Sunday, and on to the patio to help fill up the bird feeders.
Can't have the birds going hungry!

Tuesday Taggers on Wednesday

A Day late, but I made it in the end! The Theme at Tuesday Taggers this week is Oriental, chosen by my lovely teamie, Zoe. I made a couple of ATCs.
The panda stamp is from Inkadinkado and the background text is a stamp from Stamp to your Art's Content. The three bamboo pics were from a little book of oriental images (not sure who the publisher was, but I think it's Hot off the Press). Although I love this theme, I'm a bit lacking in the mojo department at the moment. Steve had an op on his knee today. He is home and seems reasonably comfortable. I'm sure he will be back on his feet (with the aid of his crutches) quite soon. Thanks for looking!

Halloween!

Good Morning! It's Tuesday and here is my DT offering for Tuesday Taggers where the theme is Halloween with some deep purple. there is also a lovely prize on offer from the Craft Barn.
Last year I picked up a set of Inkadinkado clear stamps principally for the spider and spider's web in the set (I'm unusual in that I love spiders). The witch is another from the same set. The trees are a Lavinia stamp and the background was brayered with B&J Hydrangea.
If you pop over to Tuesday Taggers you will see some amazing inspiration by my amazingly talented teamies.
Thanks for stopping by and I do hope you can join in this week.

An animal and a song

My Card for Tuesday Taggers needed to feature something wiith more than two legs this week. It was a very quick one, using papers from an Artylicious CD and the stamp is a Pink Gem one, coloured with promarkers. Please do pop over to the TT blog and take a look at the fabulous DT work.
My next card is for the Allsorts challenge this week where the theme is inspired by a song...can you guess?
Fields of Gold - a bit obvious I think! I used distress inks in Mustard Seed and Wild Honey and that fabulous Hero arts stamp - Sooo glad I bought it from Sir Stampalot, along with that ribbon too. I also sprayed it with gold creative colour spray. The sponsors at Allsorts this week are Sir stampalot and this card would also fit beautifully into the Sir Stampalot challenge where the theme is Autumn colours with bow(s) and button(s). I've now started singing Forever Autumn. I feel another card coming on!

Autumn at Tuesday Taggers

Good Morning and yes, it's Tuesday again!
Here is my card for this week's Tuesday Taggers where the theme is Autumn, chosen by my lovely teamie, Teri. A while ago I made some chipboard tiles with Brilliance mineral, clear UTEE and some chalk inks. after stamping into the UTEE I put another layer of clear powder over and heated again. The leaf stamp is a Judikins cube. The miniature tags on the left were from Stampourium (no longer available) and the leaf shapes on the brown panel were made using punches and pearlescent powders. Do pop over to Tuesday Taggers and have a look at some of the amazing projects our DT have created. Also we have aprize of a £15 voucher from the wonderful Craft Barn up for grabs, so I hope you can join us!
My second card is another using the judikins cube and chalk inks. this time more simply with just a little clear embossing powder. I mounted the mini tags on some coloured wire and sticky pads this time. The cream base card has just a few leaves sponged on with brilliance ink using a punched stencil. As this is fairly clean and simple I decided I would enter it into this weeks Allsorts challenge where the theme is ...Plain and simple! They are being sponsored this week by 'One stop card crafts' and the DT have produced some amazing cards.
Thank you so much for dropping by. I really appreciate your comments. I only wish there were a few more hours in the day so I could blog more regularly and visit you all!

Tuesday Taggers - Anything goes!

Good morning! This week at Tuesday Taggers our theme is 'it takes all sorts', chosen by the lovely Emma. I made this a couple of weeks ago and didn't use it for it's intended purpose, so I thought I would blog it now.
The main image is one of our lovely Teri's delicious doodles, coloured in promarkers. I coloured around it with antique linen distress ink and stamped in the same ink with Hero arts old French writing. The edges of the papers were distressed and inked with walnut stain. The little butterfly was stamped on to shrink plastic and coloured with pencil crayons. The papers are MME and the pearls and lace are from my stash. Pop over to the TT blog to see some fabby inspirational work from our lovely DT. You can also find out about our new sponsor, Ribbon Oasis too!

Diamonds are forever at Tuesday Taggers

Good morning! This week at Tuesday Taggers our theme is Diamonds are forever, picked by the lovely Pat. After a brief mojo-less moment involving me thinking about lots of bling, I finally came up with this.
Not sure what this fold is called, and I bodged it a bit, but a bit of matting and layering covered up the problem!
The backing paper is from my Artylicious Essence of Nature cd, the stamp (Stamp to your Art's Content) is stamped in versamark and covered in blonde moment's pearl pigments. The gorgoeus little leaf die is by Joy Crafts. My desk looks like miniature Autumn, lol!
Here's a photo of it stood on the table - sorry it looks a bit wonky! Pop over to Tuesday Taggers and see the fab DT projects. We would love you to join us this week with your interpretation of diamonds.
The theme this week at Allsorts is Colours of Autumn, so I'm entering it there too. Thanks for looking!
P.S. I thought I would give you a quick update on why I've not been around in blog land so much. On Friday it was the funeral of my dear friend Julie, who passed away  two weeks ago. As well as 'being there' for her hubby and 13 year old daughter, I'm trying to do what I can to help out. Did you know that if your wife dies and the Child Benefit was in her name they stop it and you have to reapply on a seven page form? What idiotic bureaucracy is that? As if the poor guy isn't suffering enough. Sorry, but I needed a rant!

Books galore at Tuesday Taggers

When our lovely Teamie Michelle chose the theme of Books at Tuesday Taggers I knew exactly what I was going to do. For several years I've had the Garden Fantasy sheet of Non Sequitur stamps, and there is a girl on it that always reminds me of the ghost of Cathy from Wuthering Heights. I got out my stamps, my brayer, a big and juicy pad (Hydrangea) et Voila!
The tree stamp is one I picked up from Encaustic art plus at Elsecar heritage centre. With clear embossing the outline of the girl the brayered ink wouldn't go right to the edge, but I think it makes her look quite ghostly. I finished it off with a quote.
Thanks for looking and I do hope you can pop over to Tuesday Taggers and join in the fun. Whilst you are there check out the amazing examples for our fabby DT!

Houses at Tuesday Taggers

The theme at Tuesday Taggers this week is houses and we are sponsored by the Craft barn. The paper is from my Mind's eye, the stamp was borrowed from a friend, and I forgot to write down the make. The flower was made from shapabilities flower creations 3, coloured with moonglow sprays. Thanks for looking. Do pop over to the TT site for lots of inspiration.
I just wanted to say thank you for all your words of support at this time. It is appreciated.

Inspired by a poem

This weeks theme at Tuesday Taggers has been chosen by our lovely Michelle, and is to find inspiration in a poem. I sat down over a week ago thinking I would get a little ahead of myself with the beginning of term coming up. I got a bit carried away though! Please excuse the wonky photo.
It is based on the poem Silent Noon by Dante Gabriel Rossetti, which you can find here
I started off thinking about the bit that goes 'Deep in the sun-searched growths a Dragonfly hangs like a blue thread loosened from the sky...' so the right hand panel was my first. The border is a hero arts stamp and the dragonfly is a crafty Individuals stamp, used on fantasy film from Crafty Notions.
The central panel features the poem, which I printed out and over stamped in wild honey DI with the same Hero arts cling stamp I used on the first.
Then I decided I couldn't use the whole poem and not illustrate the first verse, so I did cow parsley skirting the hawthorn hedge using Elusive Images Wild meadow stamps.
I backed it all on thick card covered in paper from my Artylicious Essence of Nature cd, and made some grunge paper hinges to hold it together. Not perfectly positioned I'm afraid, but never mind. Here is a quick view of the back.
Isn't that paper just gorgeous? So there you go. My first ever triptych (I think that's what they are called!) Phew! That was a long one! Thanks for looking, and don't forget to pop over to Tuesday Taggers to see my lovely teamies inspiring work. Do hope you can join us this week!

Sunshine at Tuesday Taggers

Okay, who stole the weekend?! I can't believe it's Tuesday already! Anyway, here is my card for this week's Tuesday Taggers challenge where the lovely Michelle chose the theme 'Sunshine'. You could've ordered us some of the real stuff as well, Michelle!

I used masking and sponging on the background with Adirondack butterscotch and Wild Honey distress inks. I stamped the wheat (Hero arts) and Grass (Elusive Images) with Adirondack Lettuce and Espresso and finished it off with a swirly organza ribbon.
Hope you can make your own sunshine and join in with us this week. Pop over to Tuesday Taggers and check out the fab projects my lovely teamies have made. Thanks for looking!

Lots of lovely black at Tuesday Taggers

It's Tuesday so it's time for my Tuesday Taggers DT work. This week our lovely Teamie Lyn has chosen 'lots of lovely black' as the theme, so I've altered another M&S mint tin. I starteed by colouring it all over in Black promarker. It covered brilliantly and you could only tell what it had been by the texture of the lid. I then covered the lid in Brilliance starlight black and triple embossed it.
I stamped the Hero Arts leaf flourish in Brilliance Platinum planet and heat set. After that I stamped and embossed three flowers in detail silver from the Inkadinkado Mindscapes set, finishing each with a central black pearl.
I hope you get the chance to join us this week. Pop over to Tuesday Taggers and check out the fabulous inspirational work by my lovely teamies.

Christmas at Tuesday Taggers!?!

Don't worry it is still July, but over at Tuesday Taggers our lovely teamie Emma has chosen the theme Christmas. Now I know I don't really do anything Christmassy until at least September, so I kept it simple.

An oval cuttlebugged with the snowflakes embossing folder, a digistamp from Digistamp Boutique coloured in with promarkers and lots of stickles!  Please do pop over to Tuesday Taggers and take a look at my teamies fabulous work. Hope you can join us!

Hang it all it's a Canvas at Tuesday Taggers

Good Morning! It's Tuesday again and time for Tuesday Taggers. This week it is the turn of my lovely teamie Zoe to choose and she came up with Canvas. My first reaction was AHHHHH! but once I'd calmed down I realised I'd been intending having a go at a canvas for some time as I had everything I needed including a choice of canvases in the house. Really, Zoe, I should be thanking you for giving me a shove in the right direction! Also this week we are lucky to be sponsored by Art From The Heart. Click the logo to have a look at the wonderful goodies you can buy from Dyan.
So, I've shown you the butterfly and I guess you want to see the whole thing. I started off painting it with Adirondack Acrylic Dabbers in pastel colours adding some distress and Adirondack inks round the edges and through a stencil. I then stamped some plain tissue with a range of Elusive Images wild meadow stamps. I used acrylic gel to apply it to the canvas. I sprayed it with some blonde moments pearl pigments in festive gold, mixed with water.
After that I painted another coat of acrylic gel over the whole thing. My only regret at this point was stamping the swirl (Crafty Individuals) in Distress inks in the bottom right corner. It's water based ink and the acrylic gel made it bleed a bit. Believe it or not it isn't so obvious in real life! I stamped  the butterfly (Hero Arts)  onto some card, coloured it with promarkers and used a versa marker over the top to apply clear EP. I did 3 layers so it's very rigid! The swirl around the edge was a freebie from CI with my last order.

I took another photo in sunlight (Yes there was a bit at the weekend) to try and capture the gold sparkle from the pearl pigments - not sure it did though!. Not too bad for a first try, I hope you agree. I think it is rather summery too, so I'm entering it into Allsorts challenge this week, which is summer days. Thanks for looking everyone and please pop over to Tuesday Taggers and have a look what my lovely teamies have created. There are some real beauties!

Anniversaries at Tuesday Taggers

Good Morning! Our Theme at Tuesday Taggers this week is anniversaries, because my lovely teamie, Teri has her wedding anniversary this month. As a matter of fact it's mine at the end of this month too, and Steve and I are celebrating our 21st just like Teri is! Anyway, here is the card I made for a friend's Mum and Dad.
I was told they would appreciate something elegant and immediately thought of the Birthday card I got from my lovely friend Brenda. So Brenda, this is inspired by you. I used gold embossing powder on the Penny Black 'footnote', my MS Doily lace punch, and Wild honey distress ink over clear embossing on the central panel. The sentiment was computer generated. The rose was made with gold vellum.
Pop over to Tuesday Taggers and take a look at the fabulous DT makes to celebrate all sorts of anniversaries. I do hope you can join us this week! Thanks for visiting and for your lovely comments.

Make a scene at Tuesday Taggers!

Here is my Card for this week's Tuesday Taggers where my lovely Teamie Michelle has chosen the theme 'make a scene!' I used my Hobby Art harbour set again (It's a bit addictive!), coloured it with promarkers and popped it onto a card. the mini anchor stamp is from the set too.
The theme at Allsorts this week is 'Create a scene', so I'm entering it in their challenge too.
I'm afraid I'm not being a particularly good blogger at the moment. the end of term is approaching at a rate of knots and I have heaps to do before it happens.  My boss is retiring and I have a bit of a 'project' for her card. I'll post it as soon as it is finished. I'm also moving classroom and after four years it is a bit like moving house! Anyway, thanks for putting up with me, thanks for looking and don't forget to pop your name in to Mr Linky for my followers candy (see post at top).

Footwear at Tuesday Taggers

Good morning, and I hope you are having flip flop weather too! I have chosen the theme at Tuesday Taggers this week and I chose footwear. Not that I'm an Imelda Markos or anything, but I do like flip flops and sandals! For Tuesday Taggers though it can be anything that goes on your feet - boots, wellies, heels- anything. For my tag I cut a couple of flip flop shaped pieces of card that I stamped with a clear Hero Arts stamp. I used some wire and seed beads to make the straps and mounted on some gold glitter paper, adding a bit of cuttlebugged pearlised blue card for the sea. I finished it off with a couple of real shells saved from a holiday.
Now if only my feet would fit in them...

Pop over to the Tuesday Taggers site to have a look at what my lovely teamies have created. I hope you can join us this week!

Vintage bookmarks at Tuesday Taggers

Whoops, I'm a day late posting my Tuesday Taggers DT work. This week the theme is Vintage bookmark, chosen by our lovely teamie, Ildiko. The 'hers' one has been on my desk for a while, but without the vintage finishing touches. The stamp is from the Wild meadow themeplate by Elusive Images. The 'his' bookmark features three stamps from Hero arts and a photo I found on the internet. I used distress inks for both.
Sorry I'm not getting time to visit you all at the moment. The eyes are much better, but I've also been writing reports and my allowance of computer time was devoted to that.... until tonight! I've finished them, yay! I'm itching to get inky, but I think I'd better get an earlier night and have a bit of craft time tomorrow. Thanks for visiting, and I really do appreciate you all!

All that blooms at Tueday Taggers

Here is my card for this week's Tuesday Taggers where the challenge is All That Blooms. I used a penny black stamp and lots of punched flowers, so it would fit with the Sir stampalot challenge too - shame I can't enter!

The papers are Kaisercraft and I added a bit of gold tulip paint and some stickles too. Thanks for visiting and for your lovely comments.

Texture at Tuesday Taggers

Here is my Card for Tuesday Taggers this week where the theme is Texture, chosen by my lovely teamie, Zoe and sponsored by Tanda Stamps. I was a bit lost for inspiration at first, but I'm quite pleased with the result. It started off as a cardboard frame for a twinchie which I covered in a thin layer of embossing paste and stamped into. I can't say it was very good, so when it was dry I rubbed some turquoise paint and chalk ink over it (slight improvement). Then I used 3d copper paint to draw some leaves around it, but they looked a bit messy, so I tipped copper micro beads on top. The flowers (Crafty Notions) were stamped on to tracing paper that had been coloured on both sides with broken china distress inks. I used a range of craft notions creative colour sprays over scrunched paper to make the paper on the left, bordering it with more 3d paint and micro beads to disguise the uneven cutting! The swirl (Paper Artsy) is also stamped in Broken china onto the base card.  It nearly went in the bin at least 3 times, but I'm glad I didn't. I've had to get the vacuum cleaner out though, as my tidy tray and the micro beads had rather a lot of static and they kept leaping out of the tray and onto the carpet! Thanks for looking!
