A Super Quick Journal Page

Hi there! I'm back from my holiday and here with a super quick journal page for my step by step today.

I began by cutting a piece of the Catalyst card to fit my page and stuck it down using matte Medium.
Next I stamped the Moonflower using versafine clair black ink and cut it out.
Then I coloured it with some pastel highlighters and added some accents with Gelly Roll Moonlight pens
On the catalyst card I drew a rough cercle in the middle using a distress crayon and smudged it with my finger.
Finally I stuck the image and a wordy sticker to the page, adding some faux stitching.
Here is the finished page once more....
And here it is with it's partner in the journal.
I used:
Highlighter pens
Distress Crayon - Any coordinating shade will do
12cm square sketch book
As the papers and the stamps are new this would be perfect for entering into this month's challenge over in the Bee Crafty Facebook group, where the theme is Something New.

A kraft journal page

Hi There! Thought I would have a little play in my Kraft Journal yesterday. Here's the page I completed. So far I have done mainly double page spreads in this journal but I thought I would ring the changes and just do a single page this time.

I began by brayering a little gesso onto the page.
Next I stamped the  Script stamp in vintage photo distress oxide ink onto the page.
I used a 6x6 mandala and a blending brush to add some spiced marmalade distress oxide over it.

Whilst that dried I stamped some leaves from Journaling essentials 2 onto a scrap of white card using versafine clair shady lane ink and cut them out.
I stamped the sunflower (flower only) onto another piece of white card, coloured it and cut it out.
Back on the background I stamped and embossed more leaves using twisted citron distress embossing glaze, and added the first leaves with matte medium
I also added the sunflower and used versafine clair black ink to add some more stamping from the journalling essentials set around the page
On a scrap of black card I stamped and embossed the sentiment from mixed messages 3, cutting each line apart.
Finally I added the sentiment to the page too.
I used:
Versafine Clair ink in Shady Lane and Nocturne
Versamark ink for embossing

There are still lots of offers on the Bee Crafty website to celebrate Bee Crafty's 21st birthday, along with challenges on the Bee Crafty Facebook group. Hope you can join in!

Look at you Journal pages

Hi There! I've been having a play with my dylusions paints that I got recently and made this journal page in my mini Dylusions Journal. Here's what I did:

I began by painting the page with Bubblegum Pink and Laidback Lilac Dylusions paint.
Once this was dry, I used a white scribble stick through the 4" easy frame heart to add two hearts.
Next I drew several hearts using the posca pen and the Hearts 6x6 inkable around the edges of the page.
I used black soot distress oxide and the texture disc to add some darker areas to the page.
Next, I stamped some of the texture borders around the page and added some lines in black pen around the larger hearts.
Whilst the ink dried, I cut out two of the faces from the faces #4 transparencies and added white posca pen to the eyes. I used matte medium to attach these and a sentiment from the wordy stickers to my background, and finished with a splatter of white Dina Wakely gloss spray.
Here is the finished page again.
I used:
Dylusions paint in Laidback Lilac and Bubblegum Pink

Somehow this reminds me of 80s discos. I think she might turn him down though 😂

Build a bridge journal pages

Hi there! I am bringing in the new year with some fresh colours in my journal. Here's what I did to create this journal spread.

I had a page where I had mopped up some inkables that had been used for green inks. I used twisted citron and salvaged patina distress spray to fill in the gaps
once this was dry I used the Bakewell big one inkable and peacock feathers distress oxide to add a little more colour to the page.
I used the 4inch square easy frame as a template to draw around with a distress crayon.
after removing the easy frame I painted between the lines using turquoise paint. Once dry I blended the crayon with my finger.
Next I took a piece of Bee Crafty stamping tissue and lay it on top of the smaller face inked stamp. then I flipped it over and inked the stamp again, carefully positioning it to form the other half of the face.
I trimmed the image then stuck it inside the frame using matte medium
using the worker stamps from the same stamp set I added to the background using black versafine clair.
Next I cut a strip of circles from the transparency and coloured the centres using a silver sharpie, turning it over to show all the black on the transparency.
I added a little more stamping using the journal art elements 3 and attached the strip of transparency using double sided tape under the silver pen. I finished it off  using a couple of wordy stickers.

Here is the finished page once more.
I used:
Turquoise paint

Very Vintage!

Hi there! I am here with a vintage journal page step by step for you today.

I began by arranging some torn scraps of book page, music and patterned paper on a journal page and stuck it down with matte medium.
next I stencilled some walnut stain distress ink around the edges where the papers hadn't quite met.
I found a torn piece of corrugated kraft card and sponged walnut stain ink around that too

I added some stamping using the doodle art mandala stamps again in walnut stain.
next I attached the panel to the background, adding some braid too, with gel medium.
with the tag inkables I added a bit of texture paste...
then used distress crayons in hickory smoke and salty ocean to add a few lines around the page. I also added a little gilding wax on the corrugated card and the texture paste,
finishing off with a splatter of white gloss spray (not a spray - just unscrew the top, hold the pipe over the project and tap).
I stamped the three butterflies in versafine clair ink and coloured with ecolines before die cutting.
Finally I used gel medium to add these to the corrugated panel.
Here is the finished page, although I might add some words to it...

I used:
A selection of papers to collage

Thank you so much for looking! Wishing everyone a happy and healthy Christmas and New Year!

Absolutely Conkers!

Hi There! It is very definitely Autumn, so I've had a little seasonal play in my journal. Here's how it came together.

I began by blending some spiced marmalade and peeled paint distress oxide ink around the edges of a double page in my Dylusions mini journal.
Next I used the 'into the woods' inkable to add a bit more of the same inks.
I mixed a little Pretty gets gritty explosion powder with some water and splattered it onto the page.
Next I stamped some of the worker stamps from the Doodle Art ladybird set around the page.
I sponged a little ground espresso around the edges of the pages and along a skylines inkable at the bottom.
On a scrap of card I stamped the Warm Winter journaling girl, coloured her in and cut her out cutting her curls off.
I also stamped her directly onto the journaling page (you only need the outline and her hair, so don't worry if it isn't perfect )
I stuck the coloured image over the image stamped on the page using matte medium.
Finally I selected three stickers that I liked from the Autumn wordy stickers and added them to the page. I also added a few white pen highlights.

Here's the finished page again. The more I look at it the more I think it needs a mushroom or three, lol. Maybe later!
I used:
Distress oxide inks in Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint and Ground espresso
A colouring medium (I used alcohol markers)
