4th album by Entombed and highly anticipated. This is where the band totally changed its sound and nearly left their death metal past to a more rock'n'roll driven path. 3rd album by Entombed. It represents a significant departure from what is heard on 'Clandestine', this was their first foray into more accessible death 'n' roll. Their most solid, unconditionally riff-loaded and groove based recording to date. Their punk influence was still coexisting with the metal and they slowed it down to deadly effect on several songs.

2nd album by Entombed. Like 'Left Hand Path' the brutality and heaviness is still present, but on this album there seems to be a bit more melody in the songs and catchier riffs with more hooks. Entombed's most distinguishing characteristics during period, their buzzsaw guitar riffs and varied tempos, are showcased well here. Drummer/songwriter Nicke Andersson takes over vocalist Lars-Göran Petrov, who is missing in action here.

At a time when death metal was still looking for recognition, Swedish band Nihilist changed their name to Entombed, grabbed some old demos and proceeded to recording their debut album. They mixed the relentless thrashy aggression and riffage of floridian death metal with a healthy dose of groove and a bit of experimentalism. And then the swedish death metal sound was born!
