Decent Comics: "The Coming of N'HGLTHSS" by Michelinie, Chan, and Boyette

Dig it, Groove-ophiles! With "The Coming of N'HGLTHSS" by David Michelinie, Ernie Chan (then "Chua"), and Pat Boyette, Claw the Unconquered gets a little bit more cosmic with the introduction of a new supporting character from another dimensional plane, Prince Ghilkyn (Gil Kane?). Let's truck on back to August 1974 and peel back the cover of Claw the Unconquered #4...

Decent Comics: "The Bloodspear" by Michelinie, Chan, and Boyette

Salutations, Stalwarts! We're back with the third issue of Claw the Unconquered (June 1975). While many say (and I doubt I'd argue with 'em) that Claw is DC's Conan, the world Claw lived in is not a very  REH one. "The Bloodspear," for example, features a centauress (bet the Comics Code censors had a heart attack every time they turned a page with her on it), lizard men, a magic spear, and giant, carnivorous slugs. It also has the extremely unique art team of Ernie Chan (still using his "Chua" nom de plum) and Pat Boyette. Makes me wish we'd gotten to see that same team in reverse on something. The mind boggles. But Ol' Groove doth digress. Tremble before..."The Bloodspear!"

The Boys from Derby: "The Enchanted Man" by Pat Boyette

Hey, hey, hey, Groove-ophiles! Over on the Charlton Facebook pages, Pat Boyette fever is runnin' wild. Mort Todd is working on getting an unpublished Boyette job featuring Cat Girl (written by Paul Kupperberg, no less) ready for print and, in the meantime, has been sharing some original PB art. Well, the cover of The Many Ghosts of Dr. Graves #51(March 1975) caught Ol' Groove's eye, so I thought all my pals n gals in Groove City would dig seeing not only the cover, but the cool story, "The Enchanted Man" written and illoed by Mr. Boyette as well!

And speaking of Mort and the gang's efforts at Charlton-Neo, they've started a GoFundMe campaign with tons of cool rewards (including comics, original art, and tee-shirts) to help keep money flowing as they lovingly and laboriously breathe new life into the classic comicbook company. Help 'em out if ya can, okay? And tell 'em Ol' Groove sent ya!
