Sorry for the delays. Most of my nights I have just been extremely tired or had other things on my mind or got very distracted. Plus scanning things has always been my downfall. I've been a bad box break host. Yet another reason for retiring from the whole hosting thing after this one.

I have a ton of scanning to do. Each box as a bunch of inserts I need to scan and rookies as well as the 3 or 4 hits. The Jumbo Box has a ton so even with just scanning the claimed teams there is a lot to scan. This scanning is part of what is delaying me. Sorry for the wait on this I know some people are more detail oriented and prefer seeing the scans rather than sitting through a boring half-hour video.

All boxes except for the Past & Present box have been opened, their breaking videos and recap videos recorded and uploaded. The videos of the box openings and the following recaps have been uploaded to my YouTube here are the links to them for those who want to see the raw poor man's footage what has been pulled. Sorry it isn't the best quality but you get the general idea and some progress on my part gets done.

Blog Group Box Break: Update

I am a little behind in things for this. I've got some of the boxes opened and for some of those (not all) I have the written pack-by-pack "inventory" listing done. I haven't gotten anything scanned yet. I recorded the box openings and then did a recap video after getting the written pack-by-pack listing done. Still have to upload the videos to YouTube. I still have more boxes to open and then the inventory thing. Man that Jumbo box is a bear. For the inserts of the Jumbo box I'll just scan the ones from claimed teams. Remember that jumbo box is 500 cards total (10 packs w/ 50 cards per pack). Those packs were seeded 28 base cards (27 for the packs with a hit) followed by 14 inserts (7 styles 2 of each style), 5 gold parallels (the border is gold instead of white) and finally 3 "red" back parallels (the info is in red print instead of black). 140 inserts, 50 gold parallels 30 red parallels that is a bit much to scan ALL of it. I'll just scan the inserts from the claimed teams (the video shows all inserts and the pack-by-pack post will list all of them) plus all 3 hits for that box. I might post that box next to last, a change from my previously announced opening order. I still want to leave the Past & Present box for the last one.

Later tonight I should be able to get the first part of box 1 (2012-13 Hoops 11 packs box 1) posted or at least ready to be scheduled for tomorrow. Once back on track the pack-by-pack posts should get posted on a regular daily schedule.

SIGN-UP TIME IS UP!

Yep the deadline for signing for this break has past. Break Details and sign-up info are Here. It has been a little disappointing, but we will shoulder on. If you have signed up and not sent payment SHAME you have until Sunday 3 May to get the payment in. I will also accept some late comers until Midnight Sunday Evening/ Monday Morning as long as payment is made ASAP. A few more people signing-up would be cool, but whatever.

I will start opening the boxes over this weekend and begin posting the results starting Monday (04 May). To keep the posts from being too long I'll only post a few packs at a time. I will also post links to the recorded videos. I'll include video recaps of Hits and significant pulls after each box has been completed. I haven't yet worked out my exact technique for doing that yet.

I made a tentative list for myself noting how many packs per post to list. I might have to extend the number of posts. Not sure yet.

I made a tentative order of opening, which will have the 2012-13 Hoops 11 pack boxes mixed in between a few of the other years, and finishing things off with the Past & Present (which is the highlight as far as I'm concerned).

Sign-Ups will have to be in by the end of April, that is Tomorrow. Payments can wait a few days if need be, but sign-up commitments need to be in with commitment to pay to follow. If you sign-up but fail to pay you won't receive the cards and might risk them being sold to someone else after the break.

Well this THURSDAY 30 April is the day to complete sign-ups for my blog group box break. I will then start busting the boxes starting sometime after 01 May. I'm not sure of the schedule yet it will obviously be at my convenience. As I've mentioned previously I will record the openings on video but they won't be live since at this time I don't have a simple way to record a  live video. I can do a prerecorded video no problem and then post to Youtube but my previous source YouStream doesn't do the live and record at the same time at least not for the free membership I have/had. So in many ways it will be more like other blog breaks where you see the results after the fact not like forum group breaks where you can catch it live at a specific time. Yeah I know that has turned off some people from even joining.

Remember to get in on the action you need to sign-up here and pay ASAP. I'm doing this break for fun not for income. If I was doing this for income the price would be a lot higher, and I would have been posting a ton more of those Annoying Break Reminder Posts and I wouldn't have the boxes to break open yet. 

All Hits from the break will be distributed to Break Members even the ones from unclaimed teams. The unclaimed teams base will go into my trade bait.

Well OK I guess we will need a deadline. It has been pretty quiet so far. That is a bit depressing. I was hoping I wouldn't need to make a deadline for this. I was hoping that March Madness and the NBA Playoffs coming up would be enough to sell this thing. Guess I really should have thought about it at the BEGINNING of the Basketball season. Unfortunately I didn't have the urge to bust open some Basketball boxes until the end of March around when March Madness was ending.

The boxes are already in hand the only thing keeping this break from happening is MORE PEOPLE. There are 19 teams still available. Many of them old favorites. If the break gets 2/3 full (9 more teams) before the sign-up deadline I can start busting early.

Worst case scenario is that I go with what we have right now with 11 teams taken and only 4 people. That is a pretty poor showing for a blog group break. So starting sometime around May First I'll start busting the boxes.

As of this post 11 of the 30 teams have been claimed that is just over 1/3 of the teams and with only 4 people so far. I need at least 6 more people before I crack these boxes open. The more people that join the more fun it will be, and the more I will have to spend in postage (hehehe).

Note with this box of Past & Present there is a slight exception to the break. Since I am building the base set of it I will be claiming the first duplicates. Base cards where a duplicate is pulled the team owner gets the first copy, I get the duplicate, if there are 3 or more of the card the team owner gets all but the one duplicate copy of the card I get. Cards with two or more teams shown the first copy will be randomized between the team owners, if a second copy is pulled then both team owners will get a copy (unless it is more than 2 teams). I will only get the duplicates of multiple team cards if an additional copy is pulled after all team owners get their copy. Don't worry I will not claim any parallels unless a duplicate of the parallel is pulled. As with all cards from the break I will check them carefully to make sure things go to their proper owners.
