Swirling and Twirling Leaves

Good Sunday Morning!  Today's make and share is my style of CAS which is not my preferred style but now and then it's good to try something out of your comfort zone.  I had another play with the new stamp set Autumn Silhouettes from Gina K. Designs Fall Release.

I wanted to give the illusion of leaves floating and swirling in the Fall Breeze, and this design was inspired by watching one of Gina K's You Tube videos.  I masked off the middle area of the card and blended Aged Mahogany, Carved Pumpkin, Peeled Paint and Brushed Corduroy Distress Inks.  I then stamped the images and sentiment with Versamark Onyx Black and this card was complete.  I did not add any sparkle, card candy or sequins...just a CAS card for Autumn.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Shopping My Stash

Hello and Happy Fri-YAY evening!  Today's make and share features lots of die cuts, dry embossing and a little ink blending.

I wanted to have a look through my stash for some stamps, dies, papers, etc to use for this weekends' projects; things I haven't used in a while.  I found the branch and leaf dies from Crafters Companion and thought they were perfect for today's Autumn card.

I have lots of card stock in various colors, patterns, etc. so I went about die cutting the elements from Autumn colored card.  I dry embossed a panel using a folder from Darice and lightly applied Vintage Photo Distress Ink over it to accentuate the embossing.  I wanted the design to appear as if the leaves were being blown around by the Fall breeze so I glued down randomly.  The sentiment is from a Cardz TV set that I won in one of her challenges a few years back.  For a final touch, I applied Wink of Stella Clear on all the leaves.  This A2 card was an easy make, and I plan to continue shopping my stash this weekend for more projects.

Until Next time, Happy Crafting!

Thankful We Know Each Other

Happy Satur-YAY!  Today's make and share features stamps from the Memory Box Grateful Autumn Stamp Set, Heat Embossing, Ink Blending and Die Cutting.

I have been practicing my ink blending skills and I thought it was a great time to start some Autumn cards.  I stamped and heat embossed the leaves and acorns and blended Distress Inks in the colors Faded Brick, Fossilized Amber and Tea Dye; splattered some water droplets for an added element and backed with a brown piece of card.  The plaid paper is from my scrap stash, I heat embossed the sentiment on a tag die cut using Copper Embossing Power, added baker's twine and Nuvo Crystal Drops in the color Golden Sunset - card complete.

I've created this card for a Swap and it will be on it's way to my friend next week.  I hope she likes it and it reminds her of the upcoming Fall Season.

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!

The Paper Funday Challenges - September Challenge

Hello and Welcome to September!  Autumn has always been my favorite time of year but not that it matters much here in Florida.  I love to travel to the Carolinas and Georgia in the Fall; I love to see the colorful landscapes.

We begin a new challenge at The Paper Funday Challenges.  The theme for this month is Photo Inspiration.  The following photo will be your creative inspiration.

For my design team project, I was inspired by....you probably guessed it.....the colors.  This reminds me of a few places I've seen in Georgia and the Carolinas.

All the elements on the card are Die Cuts that I colored with Distress Inks.  Some elements have been mounted on dimensional foam squares for added height and interest.  This card measures 6" square.

We hope you will join us this month at The Paper Funday Challenges and share with us how the photo inspired you.  We look forward to seeing you over there and Best of Luck in the prize draw!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
