Begin Each Day with a Grateful Heart

Good Morning and Happy Fri-YAY!  Today's make and share features an Autumn Wreath, Stamping, Ribbon and heat embossing.

To create this A2 sized card, I used the Gina K. Designs Wreath Builder Template  to stamp Autumn images.  I wanted the wreath to fit an A2 so I cut it in half.  I cut another piece of card to fit in the middle space, stamped and heat embossed the sentiment with copper embossing powder.  To cover the gaps in the card, I added ribbon.  For a final touch, added some enamel dots and my card was complete.

Thanks for stopping by and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Cardz 4 Galz - Flora and/or Fauna

Hello everyone, I hope your day a blessing to you.  Today begins a new challenge at Cardz 4 Galz.  The theme this round is Flora and/or Fauna.  I chose Floral to create my design team project.

I used a busy floral background and placed a die cut on top.  Added some ribbon and a dimensional floral element from a Dollar Tree package of stickers.  For the final touch, I scattered sequins for some bling.

After looking at this A2 card for a bit, I felt the background overtook all the other elements in my design.  I feel I should have used a larger dimensional sticker for the focal image.

Please join us at Cardz 4 Galz this challenge.  We would love to have you.  Also, please visit the new challenge blog The Paper Funday Challenges; the theme for March is Anything But a Card with a Twist:  Use the color Green.  You have until March 31st to enter your creation for a chance to win a fun photopolymer stamp set!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Crafty Calendar Challenge - Chuck the Cherub

It's the first Saturday of the month and that means a new challenge at Crafty Calendar.  The sponsors for this month are Crafty Ribbons and Dr. Digi's House of Stamps.   There is a theme this month also:  Use Texture and Add a Ribbon.

For my design team project, I had the pleasure of using Dr. Digi's Chuck the Cherub digital image.  This Cherub is so funny, I don't understand why he's carrying a flashlight..possibly he's lost his bow and arrows?

This card measures 5" x 5", is a tent folding card with 2 ribbons; the white one is hard to see and with texture on the card stock; some of the stripes are glittered.  I've also added 3 pieces of card candy for more texture.

I hope you've been inspired to join us this month at Crafty Calendar, hope to see you there.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Side Fold Easel Card

Hello Everyone!  I hope you and yours are well.  Today I am sharing a fun-fold card, my spin on the Easel card - a Side Fold Easel; that's what I'm going to call it.

The card measures a standard A2 (5.5" x 4.25"), I cut the bottom part of the top fold away to create a side Easel card.  I used some patterned paper from my stash to create a quick and effective fun-fold card....the Side Easel.

I hope you were inspired to create your own Side Easel card.  Thanks for visiting and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Today I'm sharing a quick, patriotic card featuring a delicious cupcake in honor of the 4th of July.  The cupcake image is a rubber stamp from my stash.

I've accented with Wink of Stella, Ribbon and a faux pearl I colored with a Spectrum Noir Alcohol marker.

I hope you were inspired and until next time, Happy 4th of July and Happy Crafting!

Lemon and Blue Card with Matching Box

Hello Everyone, I hope all is well with you and yours.

Today I want to share the first completed project in a series I am creating.  I love to create embellished cards however they can be too bulky to properly fit into an envelope so I decided I would create a box to match the card.

This project was very enjoyable to create; the lemon and blue combo turned out fantastic and I feel the black sentiment really sets the card apart from crowd.

I used some of my favorite embellishments which are flowers!  I also used die cut leaves and a background piece I cut from Cricut Design Space.  I embossed the blue mat with an unbranded embossing folder and added some lace trim from my stash.  The sentiment and yellow shadow piece are also from Cricut Design space images.

The Box was embellished with a polka dot mat and some matching ribbon.  The card is an A2 size ( 4.25" x 5.5") and the box is slightly bigger than that to accommodate the card.

This card and box are currently listed for purchase in my Etsy Shoppe (link to my shoppe on the right).  I hope you enjoyed this project today and were inspired.  Please come back to see more cards with matching boxes this week.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Anna Griffin Shabby Chic and Vintage Card Set

Hello Everyone and to all the Mothers out there...I hope your day was extra special!

Today I am sharing a set of 4 note cards I created using Anna Griffin Designer Papers, Vintage Flowers and Butterflies.  I used my Cricut Access to purchase the images, then printed and cut them to use for my card fronts.  One of the note cards has a little Song Bird ephemera image from K & Company.  For all the cards, I used photopolymer stamps from CardzTV Stamps.

These beautiful cabbage roses are some of my favorite images.  I added some pink lace and Nuvo Drops to simulate pearls.

This little Song Bird is so sweet.  I used a circle die to cut out a circle for the focal images, inked the edges of the papers with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink, used Nuvo Drops to simulate pearls and finished off with seam binding tied into a bow.

I feel this card has such a dramatic coloring scheme and is quite eye catching.  Anna Griffin Vintage Floral images are so lovely.

This card has a bit more embellishment.  I used two different dies for the main focal point mat and the sentiment scalloped ovals.  I added some lace and faux pearls (not Nuvo Drops this time).  I inked all the edges with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink and finished with a spray of Shimmer Spray Glitz.

Last but not least, I went with a Butterfly for this card as I felt I had 2 florals and 1 bird so I needed a butterfly to finish the set.  This Butterfly image is another Anna Griffin image that I purchased from Cricut Access.  I used satin ribbon, a die cut for the focal image to rest on and some fauz pearls.  For the finishing touch, I spritzed with some Shimmer Spray.

I hope you enjoyed my note cards and the lovely images from Anna Griffin as well as the stamped sentiments from CardzTV.  I had so much fun creating these cards and they are currently available for purchase so Please visit my Etsy Shoppe for this card set.

Thank you for visiting and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Graphic 45 Botanica Bella Note Card Set

I love paper, all kinds of paper and especially vintage, shabby, old world paper.  I'm a huge fan of Graphic 45 and put several of the G45 collections on my Christmas Wish List last year.  I was blessed with the Botanica Bella Deluxe Collectors Edition and I just broke into it last month.  I wanted to use it but just couldn't make myself open that glorious paper pack...you know the feeling...like when you break a $20 bill....it's gone in no time.

I created the cards by adding different elements such as ribbon, brads, buttons, die cuts, and distress inks.  They turned out lovely, a couple of the cards could be considered masculine.

I left sentiments off the fronts except for 1 card, the insides are also without sentiments so they could be used as note cards or I can stamp a sentiment if requested.

This set is listed in my Etsy Shoppe, thanks so much for stopping by today.

Till Next Time,

Donna
