Word Art Wednesday Challenge - Guest Designer for Feb '25

Hello Friends and Happy Wednesday.  It's time for a new challenge at Word Art Wednesday, and it's my last project as Guest Designer for February 2025.  It's been an honor and pleasure to be included this month, Thanks Word Art Wednesday for having me.

The optional Word Art verse for this challenge is:

Psalm 27 encourages people to believe that their faith in God will never leave them, no matter what happens. It also encourages people to live into God's will for their lives, instead of letting fear and insecurity limit them.

I, however chose not to use this Word Art, but rather went with another Psalm or my project.

The patterned papers are from an older 12x12 paper pad from Color Blok, the Verse is from the Easter Blessings Stamp Set from Cardz TV.

The Dragonflies are dimensional sticker embellishments from the Dollar Tree (I've had these lovely embellies in my stash forever) and clear gems have been added for additional interest.  I've cut the focal panel using a nesting postage die from Catherine Pooler, and it has been popped of craft foam for dimension.

I hope you'll stop by the Word Art Wednesday Challenge Blog and join in the fun.  You are not obligated to use the free Word Art, the challenges are Always Anything Family Friendly Goes.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Word Art Wednesday February Guest Designing

Hello Friends and Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're doing well and your week is coasting along nicely.  I've been invited to join the team at the Word Art Wednesday Challenge Blog as their February Guest Designer, and I'm honored to be creating with such a talented team.

If you're not familiar with Word Art Wednesday, it's a Family Friendly Anything Goes Challenge that provides an optional Biblical Word Art piece you may incorporate into your design.  This is strictly optional, and the word art for this challenge is:

I've used the verse from 1 John 3:1 in my design.  This verse emphasizes the deep love God has for us and no matter who we are, no matter what we've done in our past or what's to come in our future, we are his children.  And just like a parent, his love is unconditional for us.

After printing the scripture, I've cut the panel using a Postage Nesting Die from Catherine Pooler.  The papers are from a 6x6 paper pad by American Crafts and the foliage is a dimensional die cut embellishment I received in a card swap, along with the mini embossed panel it's resting on.

Lastly, I've added light green gems to finish the design.  I love the gold glitter on the foliage, and I thought the patterned paper was so sweet.

Please take a moment to visit the Word Art Wednesday Challenge and see what the team have created, you'll definitely be inspired, and we hope you'll share your projects with us.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Creative Creases Challenge - Love & Gratitude Gift Bag

Hello Friends and Happy Fri-YAY!  I'm back with another Guest Designer project for the Creative Creases Challenge.  I'm honored to be invited to help Debbie and the team, I had such fun making this adorable Gift Bag of Gratitude, and it was incredibly easy using a Stampin' Up Paper Pumpkin Kit.

The kit contains the supplies for these gift bags:  die cuts, pre-cut bag templates, small note cards, sentiment strips, a stamp set with small images and greetings, embellishments, small ink pad and dimensional foam pads.

I stamped on the front of the notecard using the image contained in the stamp set and the ink pad included in the kit.  I arranged the die cuts, popping them on dimensionals; the bag is easy to construct as there are instructions included and the kit also comes with double sided tape.

I punched holes through the notecard and bag, added linen thread and embellishments and called it complete.  I love the pretty die cuts in this kit and plan to make up a few more of the gift bags to use as place settings at our Thanksgiving Day table, and put a nice treat inside.

Please visit the Creative Creases Challenge and join us, we would love to see your Fancy Fold projects.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Guest Designing with the Double Trouble Challenge - #177

Hi Friends, I'm back with another post for today, sharing my Guest Design Team project for The Double Trouble Challenge.  It's a fun one this round, and I'm so honored to be the Crazy Cousin for October.

The Double Trouble Challenge #177 starts today and runs through the 28th of October and you can enter HERE.
Here are the details:
Fall Bat Color Challenge
Choose at least 3 Bat colors with Optional: Use at least 1 Die Cut that represents Fall or Halloween.  If you've included at least 3 colors and 1 Die Cut, you are eligible to enter at the A Cut Above Challenge HERE.

For my project, I've used a leaf die set that was a Free Gift with an order from Scrapbook.com.  I've cut the leaves from Canson 140 lb. watercolor paper and "watercolored" them using Catherine Pooler inks.  After they were completely dry, I splattered with a generous amount of gold Gansai Tambi watercolor paint.

I've used a nesting frame die from Kat Scrappiness to create a frame, which I layered up a few cuts to create some strength.  The sentiment is from the "Fall Sampler" stamp set by Scrapbook.com, and I've stamped it using Copper Clay ink from Stampin' Up.

I've added enamel dots and Baker's Twine with Linen thread to complete the look.  Please pop over to The Double Trouble Challenge and share your creative projects.  We hope to inspire you and love seeing everyone's creativity.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Creative Creases Challenge Guest Designer 27 Sep 24

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Friday!  I've had the pleasure of Guest Designing with the Creative Creases Challenge Team today and I would like to share my card with you.

Using the new Stampin' Up Autumn Expressions Stamp and Die Bundle, along with the Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper, I've created this easy fancy fold card inspired by Jackie Bolhuis of Klompen Stampers, you can find her Tutorial HERE

Both the Stamp Bundle and Designer Series Papers are stunning and perfect for the Autumn Season; the colors are so rich and warm.  For the card base, I've used Blackberry Bliss, and die cut a leaf from the same and one from the Mossy Meadow cardstock.

More leaves were stamped and die cut using Cajun Craze ink and cardstock, and Mossy Meadow cardstock.  The sentiment was stamped using Blackberry Bliss ink, and some wheat stalks stamped using Mossy Meadow ink.

Please stop by the Creative Creases Card Challenge and join the fun.  There is loads of inspiration for fancy fold cards, and you'll be impressed with the talented team!  I'm sending a huge thanks to Debbie Mageed for having me, it was a pleasure.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Double Trouble Challenge #166 - Stash and Trash

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!  I hope your weekend was fun and you did something special for yourself.  I'm excited to be a Crazy Cousin Guest Designer at The Double Trouble Challenge #166!  It's a fun one this round, you are to go through your stash and pick unused and mix-matched items for your design.

Let me tell ya, this was a hard one for this complicated brain of mine.  It was easy finding something unused in my stash, which is a shame actually, however, trying to use mix-matched items was quite hard for me.

For my project, I've chosen 3-D stickers I've had for about a year, purchased from the Dollar Tree, when things were actually a $1 (now everything is $1.25 +).  I have a paper pad that has gone unused till today, and a stamp set that has never been inked...see...I told you it was a shame these things were hidden in the stash!

There's also a sketch to follow, as Double Trouble is collabing with Tuesday Morning Sketches.  So I've combined everything into my card.

So here we are, tada!

I thought I would go one step farther and use an embossing folder from Cricut, the Basic Shapes, to create a mix-matched background.  The stamp set is titled "Stuck on You" by Maymay Made it, the papers are from the Good Vibes 6x6 paper pad by Crate Paper and the sentiment is from the same stamp set.

As you know, sketches are basic ideas for making cards easy, so I've chosen to use only snippets of patterned paper, and left off the bow/ribbon element at the bottom of the sketch.

Also, no bells and whistles this time, it looks quite busy and I felt it couldn't stand another thing LOL

Please stop by The Double Trouble and Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenges to see what the teams have created.  We hope you'll be inspired to dive deep into your stash and play along.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Word Art Wednesday - Romans 8:38-39

Hi Friends!  I'm back with my last project as Guest Designer with the wonderfully talented team at the  Word Art Wednesday Challenge.  It's been a pleasure creating inspirational cards using the encouraging bible verses this past month and I appreciate being invited.

I've kept with an Autumnal theme and allowed this lovely verse from the Book of Romans to take center stage.  The background is a snippet of patterned paper from my stash.

I've printed the verse on Cream colored card and backed with a brushed gold snippet of card.  Using a Kraft card base and a brown layer, I adhered to the base, but not before tying a string of Baker's Twine and creating a bow.

The patterned paper almost looks hand stamped and I thought a wonderful addition for this card, not to mention it made creating this card quick and easy.  Please stop by the Word Art Wednesday Challenge and have a look at what the team members have created.  They are so talented and the projects are always inspirational!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

I've created a sweet and simple card, allowing the Psalms verse to take center stage.  I backed with patterned paper from my stash, die cut the focal panel with a stitched rectangle die and die cut some twigs in white card.  To further highlight the foliage, I've added reddish gems and a baker's twine bow.

Word Art Wednesday Guest Designer - Trust in Him

Hello Friends and Welcome, I'm glad you stopped by.  I've been honored with a guest designer spot for the month of August at the Word Art Wednesday Challenge Blog.  For my first project this month, I've created a sweet and simple design using this inspiring quote from Psalms Chapter 62, Verse 8.

I wanted the verse to take center stage, so I've printed it large, then stamped sun rays from the Simon Says Stamp "Hello Sunshine" set above using 2 shades of yellow ink from Catherine Pooler.

To "ground" the design, I've wrapped and tied a bow of Caribbean Blue Twine from a Fun Stampers Journey to the bottom.

This guest designer spot and this verse couldn't have come at a better time.  We recently learned that someone close has Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer, but God can do miracles and we are putting our trust in him.  Any prayers are greatly appreciated.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

April 2023 Triple B Challenge - Birds, Butterflies and Blossoms

Hi Friends and Happy Monday!  It's a busy Monday, I have 3 posts for you today so let's get started!

I've been invited to Guest Design for the April challenge of the Triple B Challenge - Birds, Butterflies and Blossoms.  The premise of the challenge is to include at least one of the "B"'s, either birds, butterflies, blossoms, or you can include 2 or all 3 elements, and there is a mood board to inspire you.  The mood board for this month is:

I was inspired by the Birds and Blossoms in the mood board and I have the Layered Birdie Die Set from Simon Says Stamp.  This was the 1st time I've used this die set and it's one of those crafty items that gets pushed down in the "To Use" Basket in your craft room.

I decided since I was die cutting the birdie layers, I would die cut some bitty blossoms and branches.  After die cutting all the pieces, I've ink blended everything except the foliage, which I left white.

The patterned paper is a scrap from a Polkadoodles Digital Paper Pack and the sentiment is from a card swap.  I've placed small pink gems in the middle of the flowers and 1 black gem for the birds' eye.  One flower and the sentiment have been popped on craft foam for dimension.

I appreciate being invited to Guest Design with this talented team, I've had loads of fun creating this Spring-time Card using this little birdie die.  Hop over to Triple B and see what the team has created, I'm certain you'll be inspired.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Outlawz Twisted Thursday - Happy Birthday You Ole Goat!

Hello and Happy Thursday!  I'm honored to be Guest Designing with the team from the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge.  The theme this round is Anything Goes with a Twist of Birthdays and the sponsor is QKR Stampede.

For my Guest Designer Project, I've colored the Old Goat Digital Stamp from QKR Stampede and created a fun Birthday Card, complete with a Snarky Sentiment I've created on the computer.

To color the image, I've used Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and kept the design fairly simple; this card will be given to my husband's friend; bells and whistles have been kept to a minimum,

My husband loved the image and thought it was appropriate for his buddy; they are breakfast buds and teasingly call each other "Old Goat" from time to time.

Please visit the Outlawz Twisted Thurday Challenge and enter your project.  We hope to inspire you with our projects and would love to see what you create.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Double Trouble Guest Designer - Something, Anything, Everything Challenge #98

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!  Today begins a new challenge at The Double Trouble Challenge Blog.  The theme this round is Something, Anything, Everything and you can earn extra chances in the Random Draw by entering in challenges with previous partners.

I've had a great time guest designing with the team this month and today is my last GDT project.  It's been a true honor!

For my project today, I've created a Christmas Card in non-traditonal colors (which I love) using a digital image from the Cozy Girl Set by Le Petite Market on Etsy.

I've colored the image using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and the designer papers are from the "Winter Wonderland" 6x6 paper pad by Doodlebug Design.

To finish off the design, I've popped the focal image on craft foam for dimension, addded faux gems from Kat Scrappiness and a sentiment strip that has been embossed with fine detail white power on a snippet of black card.

Please join us at The Double Trouble Challenges, we would love to see your designs!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Krafty Chicks GDT - Clean and Simple

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Thursday!  Today begins a new challenge week at The Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog.  The theme this week is Clean and Simple (CAS).  I'm guest designing with the Team and I've created a CAS Winter/Holiday themed card.

I've used the "Warm Hands" Layering Stamp Set from Waffle Flower  and Catherine Pooler Inks in shades of Blue to create a CAS card.

The card has no bells and whistles other than a black mat to accent the main panel.  This is a lovely set but it did throw me off when I first stamped it.  It seemed to not stamp properly so I went to Waffle Flowers' website and watched a video for the set.  It was designed to not stamp in areas, so I felt much better than it wasn't my technique but rather how the stamp was created.

Stop by the Krafty Chicks Challenge this week!  We would love to see your CAS creations.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!
