Valentine's Day Gnome in Love - Classic Design Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Tuesday!  It's been a minute since I've posted and it feels good to get Mojo back as well as my health.  I contracted RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) and was quite sick.  Then my dear husband caught it from me, then we were both poorly together.  We are on the mend now and there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

With that being said, I was unable to complete my team project for The Classic Design Challenge start on the 15th of this month, but have now been strong enough and motivated to complete it.  The sponsors for this challenge are Goha Digital Stamps and The Colour of Love.  I've chosen a Gnome image from Goha Digital Stamps for my project.

I decided to create a Valentine's Day card for a friend and colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils. The patterned papers are snippets from my stash; papers I've used for the past few years for Valentine's Day projects.

I've added a few layers for interest, the sentiments are from the Friendship Greetings stamp set by Kat Scrappiness.

To complete the card, I've added red enamel dots around the sentiment strips, which have been popped on craft foam for dimension.

The team and I would like to invite you to visit us at The Classic Design Challenge and play along.  There are 2 chances to win, so join us.  With that, I'll say please stay healthy and until next time, Happy Crafting!

The Paper Funday Challenge - Artistic Dreamer

Hello and Happy 1st Wednesday of the Month!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenges where the theme is Always Anything Goes with an Optional Twist; the Twist this month is Family.

We have 2 generous sponsors this month:  Dr. Digi House of Stamps and Colour of Love.  For my design team project, I've used the Artistic Dreamer digi stamp from Colour of Love

I've colored the image with Spectrum Noir Illustrator Alcohol Markers, fussy cut and set aside to work on the background.  I've die cut a panel using the Cube Cover Die from Altenew and ink blended varying shades of Blue Distress Oxide inks over top.  I splattered the panel with water and White Gloss Spray for a dreamy and ethereal look and feel.

The image has been mounted on craft foam for dimension, stitched die cut stars adorn the piece and the sentiment comes from the Blooming Brushes Stamp Set by Miss Ink Stamps.  Lastly, clear crystal gems have been added for additional sparkle and shine.

We invite you to join us this month and we hope to inspire you with our designs.  Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!

New Challenge Month at The Paper Funday

Hi Crafty Friends!  Today begins a new challenge at The Paper Funday Challenges and it's Always Anything Goes with an Optional Twist.  The Twist this month is Autumn/Fall and our generous sponsors for the month are Jan's Digi Stamps and Colour of Love.

For my design team project, I've used the Emmi Lou Boo's Autumn Leaves image by Colour of Love.

This is an adorable image and I had a great time creating this card.  I've colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, used papers from the Echo Park "Celebrate Autumn" 6x6 paper pad and a sentiment from Cardz TV.

I love Autumn, it's my favorite time of year and the funny bit is - we don't have Autumn in Florida.  During my husband's military career, we lived in areas of the country as well as overseas that did have 4 seasons.  The colors of Autumn are always so rich and vibrant.  My kids loved hayrides, apple orchards, trick or treating, candied apples and bon fires...so lots of great memories associated with this time of year.

Thanks for visiting today and I hope to see you at the Paper Funday Challenges this month!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Masculine Birthday

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  Today is the 1st Wednesday of the month and it's time for a new monthly challenge at the Paper Funday Challenges.  As always, the theme is Anything Goes with the Optional Twist this month of Sparkle and/or Shine.

The sponsors for this months' challenge are the wonderful Jan's Digi Stamps and Colour of Love.  For my design team project, I decided to go with the Twist and create something featuring Sparkle and/or shine...and I chose Shine.

I need masculine cards in my stash (don't we all) as I just don't think of making them and thought how can I create a masculine card that sparkles and/or shines.  I sat down and went through my dies and stamps and BINGO....I can make it shine!

I stenciled a background using Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink and stamped the Timepiece image; which is an old stamp I no longer have the package for so unsure of the maker, tore the edges of the panel and place foam pads behind.  Still needing shine, I die cut gear pieces from gold mirror card and placed flat on a mat of wood patterned paper from P13, then adhered all to a mat of gold mirror card.  I heat embossed the sentiment using fine detail gold powder and out the design all together.

I felt like the card needed something else and I'm a fan of bells and whistles but on a masculine card, I thought "what can I use?" then it came to me, the circle bits from the middle of the gears.  I adhered to the focal panel and they look like brads.

Please join us at The Paper Funday Challenges, we hope to inspire you with our designs and look forward to seeing your creations.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Creatalicious Challenges - BowBo's Pot of Gold

Hello and Welcome to my little blog.  Today starts a new challenge at Creatalicious Challenges.  The sponsor this round is Colour of Love, Formerly Lacy Sunshine and for my design team project, I had the pleasure of using Bowbo's A Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow.

This sweet little Hobo was colored up with my Spectrum Noir Markers, card is a standard A2 and I used some designer papers I had in my stash from St. Patrick's Day 2018.  For added detail, I added some Wink of Stella to the coins, Bowbo's nose and all the shamrocks.  The finishing touch was to add some Nuvo Drops in the color Emerald City.

I invite you to join us at Creatalicious Challenges and I want to remind you of the new challenge blog The Paper Funday Challenges.  Please join in the fun and try your hand at winning some lovely digital art in the process.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
