The Four Seasons Challenge - November Gnomie

Hello Friends and Happy 1st Day of November!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Four Seasons Challenge Blog and it's the last month of Autumn themed Mood Boards; next month we move into Winter themes.

I received a packet of decoupage sheets in a Card Swap last year and while looking for something from my stash to create this month's project, I came across them. I loved the Gnomes, they are so adorable and I especially love the Starbucks-like drink this Gnomie Girl is holding.

To start, I've embossed a panel using a Autumn leaves folder from Darice and die cut an oval from the center.  I've ink blended the cut out with Peeled Paint Distress Ink and splattered with water and white acrylic gloss spray.

I've fussy cut the decoupage image and sentiment, then adhered all to a brown mat.  Before adhereing to the card base, I've wrapped Baker's Twine and tied a bow.  To finish the card, I placed gold gems and called this card done.

Please stop by the challenge blog and join in.  We love seeing how the monthly Mood board inspires everyone and my team mates have created some lovely projects that will surely inspire you as well.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Harvest Wreath - Thankful, Grateful, Blessed

Hello and Happy Fri-YAY!  I had a little time on my hands today so I created a different take on a wreath.  Today's make and share features Autumn Stamps, Distress Inks and a Wreath Builder Template.

First, the inspiration for the card came from a Jennifer McGuire You Tube video.  I used the Gina K. Designs Wreath Builder Template and the Autumn Wreath Builder Stamp set to create an off-set wreath.  I started with a 5" square piece of card that I would trim down to fit my A2 sized card; I like the look of images going off the edge.

I haven't taken the plunge to invest in a line of colored Dye inks for stamping and blending (I'm waiting for hubby to ask for my Christmas list) so I used Distress Inks in various colors; I have the entire line of the Distress Inks.  For a final touch, I added tiny Gold Gems for interest and sparkle.

Thanks for visiting and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Thankful Leaf Print

Hello and Happy Monday!  It's been a whirlwind day but I do have a make to share.  This card was inspired by a Video on the Gina K. Designs You Tube Channel.  It features a hibiscus leaf, heat embossing and ink blending.

I went in search of a leaf, I really wanted a Maple or Oak leaf but I'm in Florida, so the closest I could find was a Palm Frond or a Hibiscus leaf...I chose the latter.  I washed and dried the leaf, inked it up with VersaMark Embossing Ink and pressed it onto a piece of white card.  I sprinkled fine clear embossing powder and heat embossed the image.

I used the new Ranger Crackling Campfire Distress Oxide Ink along with Fossilized Amber and Dried Marigold Distress Oxide Inks to blend color over the embossed leaf image.  This is what started to appear and I just love it!  I'm so impressed with the hibiscus leaf and I think it's just as pretty as a Maple leaf.

For a finishing touch on this A2 sized card, I added a one word sentiment popped up on thin foam pads and gold sequins for that bit of sparkle.  My Autumn card is complete....the colors blended nicely, Awww....I love Autumn!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
