Inspiration Station Challenge #18 - Wood You Rather

Hello and Happy Monday Crafty Friend!  It's a busy Monday with lots of projects for you and I'm sharing my team project for the new Inspiration Station Challenge starting today.  The inspiration photo this round is the following and can be intrepreted your own way.  It's a view of a cut tree, a piece of wood, the forest, nature....the intrepretation is yours and that's the point of the Inspiration Station.

For my project, I've interpreted the photo as Trees and used that to create a Masculine Christmas Card using papers from The Paper Studio "Rustic Noel" 6x6 paper pad.

The sentiment is the Happy Holidays Word Die with Shadow from Kat Scrappiness.  I've kept the card very simple, only adding a Spruce Green Mat and an outline of Gold Stickles.  I'm letting the designer paper with the trees and wood background be the star of this card.

Please visit and join in the challenge at The Inspiration Station.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Pammies Inky Pinkies - Beccy's Place

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!  Today begins a new challenge week at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and the sponsor this round is Beccy's Place.

For my design team project, I've colored a Beccy's Place image from the Peace and Joy Digital Stamp Set.  The sentiment is also from the digi set; this set contains 2 images and 5 sentiments with pre-colored versions of the images also available.

I've colored the Poinsettias in traditional holiday colors using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers; I have 2 red poinsettia bushes planted in my garden, left over from Christmas a few years ago.

I've kept the design simple with just a black mat behnd the focal panel, which was cut using a Stitched Rectangle Die from Kat Scrappiness.  For that holiday sparkle, I've added clear sequins, Wink of Stella and Crystal Stickles.

Please join us this week atPammie's Inky Pinkies!  Until next time, Happy Crafting.

Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge - Sheepski Designs

Hello Crafty Friends and Welcome to Monday.  Today begins a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and the sponsor this round is Sheepski Designs.  For my design team project, I went with a Winter theme.

Using the Snow Happy Digital Stamp, I created an A2 Top Folding card that could easily be turned into a holiday card using a seasonal sentiment on the inside.

Snowmen are my favorite Winter and Holiday images to use and this guy is just the sweetest isn't he?  I kept the design fairly simple, only using a few alcohol markers to color him in.  I covered him in Wink of Stella, which is hard to see here, but he is sparkly.

Aside from the Wink of Stella, the only other embellishment I've used is a dyed piece of seam binding tied into a bow.

Please join us this week at Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge Blog!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Noel Christmas Mouse

Hello Crafty Friends and Welcome to Monday, I hope your weekend was enjoyable!  Today begins a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and the sponsor this week is Polkadoodles.

For my team project today, I've created a sweet holiday card using the Noel Christmas Mouse digital stamp from Polkadoodles.

I've colored the image using my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, the designer papers are from the Carta Bella "Merry Christmas" 6x6 paper pad.  I've die cut the focal panel and sentiment strip, mounted both on craft foam and adhered to the card base.

For a finishing touch and my "must have" sparkle and shine, I've added blue faux gems.  This is such an adorable Christmas Mouse!  Please join us this week at Pammie's Inky Pinkies, we look forward to seeing your projects.

Colour Crazy Challenge with Star Jam Lines

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Friday!  Today begins a new challenge at The Colour Crazy Challenge and our sponsor for this round is Star Jam Lines.

For my design team project, I colored up this adorable Flying Gnome with Ballon digital stamp using my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.

This image isn't necessarily a Holiday Image but I created a Christmas Card with it.  The set includes an image with Nordic Patterned hat or plain hat and I chose to work with the plain hat.  I also printed out an extra balloon.

The papers are from a very old American Crafts Holiday 6x6 paper pad, which I only have snippets left.  I die cut and embossed a circle with a Clouds folder from Darice and hilighted with blue ink to bring out the clouds.  I also die cut the cross-stitched heart and the chevron paper mat and fussy cut Mr. Gnome.  The sentiment is from yet another older set from Stampendous; Christmas Visions.  Lastly, I've added Silver Rhinestone embellishements from Kat Scrappiness.

Please join us at The Colour Crazy Challenge for your chance to win some cute images from Star Jam Lines.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Snowmen Selfie - Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge

Hello and Happy Monday!  Today begins a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies with the theme being Anything Goes.  Our sponsor this week is the talented SheepSki Designs.  For my design team project, I colored up the Snowmen Selfie image.  It is truly an adorable image and perfect for a Holiday or Winter themed project.

I chose to color the image in traditional Christmas colors.  The designer paper is from the Carta Bella "Merry Christmas" 6x6 paper pad.  I didn't add any embellishments to this project but did use a Sakura Gelly Roll Sparkle pen to hat brims here and there for an added bit of sparkle.  The sentiment is from a very old Hero Arts set.

Please join us this round at Pammie's.  We would love to see your creations and we hope to inspire you with ours.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Merry Christmas Gnome

Hello!  Today's make is a Card with a Tag on Top, featuring a Gnome, Foil, Glitter, Flock, Die Cuts and Stenciling.

To create my card, I started with the tag first.  I used the Gina K. Designs and Thermo Web "Gnome for the Holidays" Stamp and Stencil Kit.  This kit was a collaboration between Thermo Web and Gina K. Designs and includes Foils, Stamps Stencils and Dies.

The designer papers are a mixture of scrap and a large panel from the Memory Box "Christmas Plaid 6x6 paper pad, the Gnome beard is White Flocking, the baubles in the trees are die cut from red foil and the starry background is Cosmic Shimmer Sparkle Texture paste over a stencil.

For a final touch, I added a bit of ribbon, attaching it to the tag with my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher and covering the staple with the sentiment strip.

Christmas crafting has begun and if I stay on track, I won't be pulling my hair out come December 15th...the day I give myself to have all cards in the mail.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Colour Crazy Challenge - Digi Doodle Studios

Hello and Happy Fri-YAY!  Today begins a new challenge at the Colour Crazy Craft Challenge and my last project as a Guest Design Team Member.  The sponsor this round is Digi Doodle Studios and I had the pleasure of using the Sammi Skater Bear digi stamp for my design team project.

This little Guy is perfect for a Holiday card so I created a Tent Topper 4" x 5" note card.  I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and the DSP is from the American Crafts Holiday 6x6 paper pad.  For a Final touch, I added sequins for that bit of holiday sparkle and a piece of cute polka dot ribbon.  I created the sentiment on the computer, backed with a piece of black card and popped up on foam pads so it would straddle the ribbon.

I've had a wonderful time being a Guest Designer on the Colour Crazy Craft Challenge and it was such an honor to be invited.  I encourage everyone to visit the challenge and enter your creations, it's a great challenge.

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!

Creative Knockouts - Celebrations

Hello all, I do hope your Christmas was Awesome and Your Boxing Day (today) is even better!  After a long Hiatus, I'm back on the Design Team for Creative Knockouts and today begins a new challenge.

Our sponsor for this round is Kelly Schelske, our Fearless Leader and a Close to My Heart Independent Consultant.  Kelly is awarding the winner of this weeks' challenge a CTMH Stamp Set.

I chose to use a digital image from Power Poppy by Marcella Hawley titled Candy Cane Classic for my design team project.  The theme for this round is Celebrations and I thought this Candy Cane card was perfect for a Christmas Celebration.  I have since posted this card to a dear friend in Georgia, I hope she received in good order and liked.

This card measures 5" square and I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers.  I added clear gems and Wink of Stella for the glitter and gleam, popped up the focal image with foam pads and used some designer papers I had in my stash.  The colors are very vibrant in person, the photo just doesn't do it justice.

Please join us at Creative Knockouts with your project reflecting the Theme of Celebrations. Best of luck to you in the draw and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges #457

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  It's time for another challenge at Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges.  This round we have 2 wonderful sponsors:  Sheepski Designs and Bugaboo Stamps.

For my design team project, I had the pleasure of using Sheepski Designs sweet image titled Catch.  Two little penguins floating on ice and playing Catch with a Snowball.

This card measures the standard A2 (4.25" x 5.5").  I masked off the images and inked the background with Distress Oxide inks.  I used Glossy Accents on the snowball and the penguins cool shades.  In hindsight, I would not have doodled along the top and bottom edge as I'm not liking it.  These are such adorable, chubby little penguins and I love them!

Please join us this week at Penny's and enter for your chance to win some fabulous images from our sponsors.

Also, I would like to remind everyone of the challenge at The Paper Funday Challenges.  It's a monthly challenge for all things Paper.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges #455

Hello everyone!  After a hiatus from Design Team participation, I'm back to share my DT project for the current challenge at Penny's.  The sponsor for this challenge is the fabulous Cute As A Button Stamps and I've had the pleasure of creating with this sweet Holiday Image Reindeer Ears.

I decided to keep it simple yet effective and it's been awhile since I've colored with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  I dusted them off and got lost in the fun of coloring (I'd forgotten how fun it is) and this sweet little guy came out great.  I accented the piece with sequins and my Sakura Gelli Roll Glitter pen.  This card measures the standard A2 (4.25" x 5.5").

We hope you'll join us at Penny's this week, we look forward to seeing your creations.  It's good to be back and crafting again!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Christmas Window

Hello again, today I'm sharing a Christmas card I put together after having a "ah ha" moment.  I had this window die and couldn't figure out I was going to do use it, specifically cardmaking.  I don't consider myself creative so I thought it's a window, opens and so it needs to have something on the other side to look at; this was then born, A2 standard sized card:

I used a stencil and Barn Door Distress Ink to create the background on the card base, Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean and Black Soot Distress Oxides for the night scene and Vintage Photo Distress ink to tint the window.  I die cut the tree out of green card and added SnowTex for the snow.  Ta Da...complete.  I hope you like and have been inspired.

Until next time, Happy Crafting,

Donna

Clean and Simple Christmas

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Christmas is creeping closer and I'm still creating Christmas Cards, I should be completely finished by Christmas :)

I've created what I feel is a CAS Christmas Card, using only a die cut along with glitter and mirror card.  I die cut the tree image from the glitter card and again from the silver mirror card, then inlaid the mirror card into the space.  I really like how this one turned out, I love the look of blue and silver at Christmas time!

I hope you've been inspired today.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Christmas Candles

Good Monday Morning!  I did manage to find some crafting time this past weekend and I worked on my personal stash of Christmas Cards.  From now until Christmas, I will be sharing what I've come up with.

Today's share is the Christmas Candles card.  I've been coloring a lot lately for Design Team projects and I'd forgotten how satisfying paper piecing is. I used dies for the candles and the foliage (the candles were cut from Glitter card), and pieced everything together.  I embossed the white mat and added a ribbon and charm for interest.  This is a standard A2 sized card.

I hope I've inspired you to get into your craft space today and revisit a technique you haven't used in a while.  Create something wonderful for someone - or even yourself.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Crafty Calendar Challenges - Sweet Christmas with a Friend

Hello and thanks for stopping by.  It's time for another challenge at Crafty Calendar and our sponsor this round is Lawn Fawn!  The winner will receive a $25 gift voucher and that's so exciting and so gracious of them to sponsor this challenge for us!  The Theme for our challenge is "It's Christmas Time".

This sweet image of a little girl and her Penguin friend was just so adorable, and in-line with our theme, I used it to create a card for my Design Team project.  I do not know who is credited for creating this image as this was gifted to me in a swap; if anyone knows, please leave me a comment.

I colored the images up with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and added some Silver Wink of Stella on the snowflakes and the penguins' hat band and ball.  I kept this A2 sized card pretty simple by my standards and I'm pleased with how it turned out.

We hope you will join us at Crafty Calendar this round for your chance to win a great prize from Lawn Fawn!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
