You Are a Beautiful Soul

Hello...Me again, back with my last post for this busy Monday to let you know today begins Challenge #19 at Make the Cards and it's a color challenge this round.  I've been invited to be a Featured Creator and I'm honored to participate in this fun challenge.  Following are the colors for this week:

I intrepret the colors as Gray, Navy Blue, Light Pink and White.  I seldom use the colors together as I'm drawn to bold colors so it was a nice challenge to use them in a design. I started my A2 sized card by stenciling a mat of gray card using the "Fizzy" stencil and Denim Blue Dye Ink from Gina K. Designs.  I set the panel aside to dry and proceeded to stamp and heat emboss a large bloom and leaves from the "Grand Garden" stamp set by Gina K. Designs.  I used Fine Detail Silver embossing powder and stamped the images on Strathmore watercolor paper.

I watercolored the images using Gansai Tambi watercolors and fussy cut the bloom and leaves.  I splattered the stenciled panel with White Gloss Spray by Dina Wakley, heat embossed the sentiment on vellum, mounted the images on foam pads and lastly added Gunmetal sequins for sparkle and shine.

Please stop by the challenge and have a look at the inspiration provided by the design team, they are a talented group!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

The Paper Funday Challenges - July Challenge

Hello everyone and Happy 4th of July!  It's been a quick first half of the year and it's been very HOT here in Florida!  The humidity is unbearable so all the more reason to stay inside and craft or in the pool floating around.

Today begins a new challenge at The Paper Funday Challenges.  This month the challenge has a dual theme:  Patriotic and/or Summertime.

I chose to create projects for both themes.  My first card is an Easel Card with a Patriotic Theme.  I used some dies to cut out the flowers and stars, an embossing folder for the flower centers, some Washi tape and digital paper.

My second project was created with the Summertime theme.  I colored up an image from Bugaboo Stamps, die cut the sentiment, the Vellum background and the white mat with the image.  Otherwise I kept it pretty simple.  I love Sunflowers and they just sing Summer to me!

Please join us this month at The Paper Funday Challenges.  The Challenge has a lovely Sponsor  offering a great prize.  We would love to have you play along and we hope to unspire your crafting.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Celebrate You Today

Hello Everyone, I hope everything is well with you and yours.

Today I want to share a quick Birthday card I put together.  I mentioned in an earlier blog post that I was running low on Birthday cards so I'm dedicating most of my time this week to creating cards for birthdays.

This is a standard card measuring 4.25" x 5.5" (A2).  I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in the colors Twisted Citron and Broken China to create the background color on the embossed card mat.  I cut a piece of Vellum 1" wide and heat embossed the sentiment "Celebrate You Today" using a Ranger Embossing Pad and Ranger Fine Black Embossing Power.  The Balloon die cut is an unbranded die I purchased from AliExpress.  I added clear sequins for a bit of bling!

**Hint for heat embossing on Vellum:  apply the heat from the back in short bursts.  This will prevent buckling and wrinkling of the vellum.

A Quick, Simple and Effective Card.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you'll stop by again for another blog post.  Take care and until next time, Happy Crafting.
