Thanksgiving Gratitude

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Wednesday!  I have a quick share for you today featuring an Autumn theme.  In the States, tomorrow is our Thanksgiving Day holiday and we will be spending it with family and friends.  It's been a tough year for us as a family and I've had fleeting thoughts of foregoing Thanksgiving and Christmas, but that would not be honoring our son Dylan, as the holiday season was his absolute favorite time of year.

We are spending the holiday with my brother and my sister-in-law's family, and I needed to make a thank you card to go along with the hostess gift.  I thought these tattered and distressed leaf die cuts were perfect for the card.

I've went with a square card measuring 6", I've cut the leaves from various colors of cardstock and inked the edges with distress inks. The sentiment was die cut a few times for dimension and the background panel was embossed with the "Texture" EF from Penny Black.  The patterned paper strip is from my box of scrap.

To finish off the card, I've sprayed with Shimmer Spray for a glittery effect.  If you're celebrating Thanksgiving, please have a blessed day and I hope you are surrounded with family. friends and love.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

A Pilgrim and a Turkey!

Happy Tuesday Friends!  Wow, it's turned Artic Cold here in Florida, we woke to 36F and that's too cold for us beach bums.  It's Veteran's Day here in the States, and we honor all those who serve in our military, both enlisted and the families who support them.

I've got a quick share for you today featuring 2 comical characters dressed up for the Thanksgiving Day Feast.

These two are from the "Talk Turkey" Stamp Set by Newton's Nook, which was a Stamptember Collaboration with Simon Says Stamp a couple years ago.  Would you believe this is the 1st time inking them up?  I should be ashamed!

I've colored them using Copic Alcohol Markers and fussy cut.  The patterned paper is from the "It's Autumn" 6x6 paper pad by Carta Bella, the focal panel was cut using nesting Hexagon Dies from Hero Arts and the sentiment is from the same stamp set.

I've popped the characters on foam pads, along with the sentiment.  Lastly, I've added enamel dots to accent the sentiment.  In true Cat Style, Newton doesn't appear too pleased to be wearing this fancy headdress!  On the other hand, his Pup Friend doesn't seem to be bothered.

That's all from me today and I wish you a fabulous day.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Pumpkin Blooms by Penny Black

Happy Saturday Crafturday Friends!  Are you planning on crafting something today?  Me, yes and I have a quick share today featuring the new Pumpkin Blooms Die set from Penny Black.

I've die cut the pieces from the die set using Tim Holtz watercolor card and painted the pieces using Gansai Tambi watercolor paints.  To give the pieces some depth and shading, I've inked using Ranger Distress inks in coordinating colors.

In my continued effort to use as much from my stash as possible, I took a snippet of patterned paper and a cut apart tag from the "Welcome Fall" 6x6 paper pad and coordinating ephemera pack to decorate the front.  I've also embossed the white panel using the "Texture" embossing folder from Penny Black, and placed bronze gems in the blossom centers.  The card base is "Cajun Craze" from Stampin' Up.

I hope you find time for a but of crafty fun today, until next time, Happy Crafting!

The Four Seasons Challenge - Autumn/Fall

Hello and Happy Monday!  Wow, it's November 1st and today begins a new challenge month at The Four Seasons Challenge Blog with the Autumn/Fall theme continuing through the end of this month.

My design team project features the Pumpkins and Fence digital stamp from Eureka! Stamps.  I've created this card with the Thanksgiving Holiday in mind and kept the design simple.

I've colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and matted with a panel of brown card.  The card base is 110 lb. Kraft card.

I've added a small bow made from Baker's Twine and a cappucino enamel dot and that completes this card.  Please visit us this month at The Four Seasons Challenge.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Bugaboo Stamps - New Release Tuesday

Hello!  I hope you're well and having a Terrific Tuesday.  Today is New Release Day at Bugaboo Digital Stamps and the newest image is this fun Turkey with his Knife and Fork.

I've been invited to stay on as a Designer with Bugaboo and I couldn't be more thrilled.  My first project was working with the newest release and I've created this card to showcase the image.  This Poor Guy is asking we Eat More Beef!

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and the DSP is from the Carta Bella "Fall Market" 6x6 paper pad.  A few sequins rounds out the design and I hope you like it.

Please stop by Bugaboo Stamps, check out the new releases and play along in the challenges.  We would love to see what you create.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Pammie's Inky Pinkies - Anything Goes

Hello and Happy Monday!  I hope everyone is well and had a wonderful weekend.  Today begins a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies with the challenge theme being Anything Goes.  Our generous sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps and it's always a pleasure working with their images.

For my design team project, I used the clever Ruby Thanksgiving which is part of Bugaboo's Monthly Calendar of images.  This image represents the month of November and I'm still finishing up Autumn and Thanksgiving cards, so I couldn't resist using this image.

My Ruby is a Southern Lady; she reminds me of my momma when the Bouffant hair-do's were popular.  My momma went to the Beauty Parlor every Friday and came home with her hair stiff with hair spray and piled up HIGH!

I created the sentiment in my Word Processing Program as I didn't have one with the "y'all" and that was a must for my Southern Ruby!  The DSP is from the Echo Park "Celebrate Autumn" 6x6 paper pad.  I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and added some sequins for sparkle.  What type of Pie do you think she has made?  If it were my momma, it would be Apple.....Hot Apple Pie with a big scoop of French Vanilla Ice Cream on top!

Please visit us at Pammie's Inky Pinkies this week and play along with us in the challenge.  We would love to see your creations.  Until Next time, Happy Crafting Y'all!

The Paper Funday Challenges - November Challenge

Hello Everyone, it's time for a new challenge at The Paper Funday Challenges.  The theme for this month is Anything Goes with a Twist:  Thanksgiving.

For my design team project, I created a Post-It Note Holder Box and a Simple Thanksgiving Card.  The Note Holder Box was an inspiration from Positively Papercraft on YouTube.  Of course mine didn't come out as nicely as hers but it's functional and I do like it.  In hindsight, if I create this again, I will cut the mat pieces larger for the sides.  The box measures 3.5" square, 1.5" tall.

My second project was a simple card created for Thanksgiving.  I used a set of Postal Stamp dies and dies for the word Thankful.  The papers were some I had in my stash and the card measures a standard A2 (4.25" x 5.5").
We hope you will join us at The Paper Funday Challenges this month, we would love to see your creations and hope we inspire you in some little way with our projects.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
