• The summons cannot be targeted by Helm of the Dominator or Helm of the Overlord, and the warrior cannot be targeted by Hand of Midas.
  • However, they can be targeted by other unit converting or instantly killing abilities (e.g. Holy Persuasion or Devour).

Trivia

• This item's internal name is demonicon.
• This item's lore text "A record of the final reckoning. With one page torn out." is a reference to Journey to the West, a chinese novel from the 16th century. In it, Sun Wukong (also known as the Monkey King) had torn out the page from the Book of the Dead containing his name, erasing his name from it and effectively gaining immortality.
• The item's name "Book of the Dead" is a reference to the Necronomicon appearing in the works of H. P. Lovecraft. I his stories, the Necronomicon is also referred to as the Book of the Dead.
• The summons were originally named Necronomicon Warrior and Necronomicon Archer, since they originally were summoned by the Necronomicon. Book of the Dead summoned the same units.
  • However, since that item was removed, their names no longer had a connection to the items, and were thus changed to Demonic Warrior and Demonic Archer.
  • The name change was only on the front-end, within the game files, Book of the Dead still uses same Necronomicon units.
