- Blink utilizes the
teleport mechanic, and has the following properties:
- When targeting a point within 1200 distance, teleports directly onto the targeted point.
- When targeting a point beyond 1200 distance, teleports 960 distance towards the targeted point instead.
- When targeting a point between 960 and 1200, an extra sound effect is played, indicating a long-ranged blink.
- Incoming
projectiles are disjointed upon teleporting.
Trivia[edit]
- This item is based on Kelen's Dagger of Escape from Warcraft 3.
- In DotA, the item was originally named Kelen's Dagger of Escape. Kelen is a rouge from World of Warcraft.
- Later on, it was shortened to just Kelen's Dagger, because most plays used it aggressively, rather than to escape.
- In Dota 2, it was renamed to Blink Dagger, to avoid copyright issues with "Blizzard Entertainment".
- Riki and Lion are the only heroes who are missing responses for acquiring a Blink Dagger.
- Axe's cosmetic item, Little Blink Dagger, is based on Blink Dagger.
