Little Cat Feet

Shaggy and his littermate brother Scooby came to live with us in October 2005, when they were 5 years old. Scout arrived in 2006 at the age of 6 weeks. Scooby passed over very suddenly to the Rainbow Bridge on April 1, 2012 and is remembered fondly and missed deeply.

Feeling Better

Mom got me some catgrass for my sick stomach. I like to eat grass when I don't feel well. Mom remembered this when she caught me munching on the houseplants.
We got a catgrass kit in our Secret Paws box but it needs to grow first and the outside grass isn't up yet, so I got a whole pot of fresh grass for my munching pleasure.
And I haven't thrown up yet today.

The Throw-Up Couch

One of our blogging cat friends told how they have a couch that they always pick to throw up on. They even call it the throw up couch. Well, we have one too.
Scooby, shown here sitting on the couch in the sun, throws up his food all the time there. He eats too fast & it comes right back up.
Shaggy likes to hork up hairballs on it.
I don't throw up except when I have milk. So I don't get to even lick the cereal bowls anymore!
But I never throwed up on the couch! Nope, Never!! But if I have to I'll go there 'cause it seems to be the designated spot.
Mom wants to know if anyone knows a really good stain remover for yellow cat vomit stains.

IT CAME!

Our Secret Paws package came all the way from Hawaii!
Shadow sent some cool stuff! Scout is especially excited about the feather wand toy. It has the prettiest bright yellow feather on it and he jumped on it right away when it came out of the box!
Shadow also sent 3 cans of Stinky Goodness! Each can is a different yummy seafood flavor! And to top it all off a box of Catgrass for us to grow! Shaggy is especially excited about that because he is a grass muncher!
Thanks, Shadow, for the great presents!

Cabin Fever

Scout: Whatcha lookin' at Mom?
Mom: It's so gray and dreary outside.
Scout: What does ya mean?
Mom: Well, there's more snow everywhere and its cold and gray, no sun for days at a time. The trees and everything is so bare and stark. It was nice for a couple days last week, but now its cold and blah again.
Scout: Hey Mom! Our blogging friends live everywhere. Let's ask them where the best place to live in the winter is.
Mom: That's a good idea Scoutie!
Scout: Ok friends, where is the best place to live in the winter to escape the stuff mom calls the blahs?

Sunny Day

We are enjoying a warm sunny day today.
Sure, it's only just above freezing, but the snow is melting and there's water dripping off the house and running down the street as the snow says goodbye. The weather guy says the sun is in the same place in the sky as it is at the end of September, so that is why it is all melty now.
Scooby & I spent quality time out today. The front of the house faces South so it captures the warmth really well.
Mom spent time out on the steps without her jacket. She brushed & brushed us so we are all silky smooth and handsome now.
Wow! This feels good!

Digging Out

Storm's over today.
The sun is out and is it ever bright, shining off the new snow. But still cold. 15 degrees in our yard this morning.
It was a heavy, wet snow. Very hard for the people to move it to dig out the driveway. Our beans don't have a snowblower, so they shovel the old fashioned way. Then just when they get done shoveling, the city snowplow comes by in the street & the beans have to dig out the end of the driveway again. Only you cats in snow places know about that!
Some cats have been telling us about silly hats their beans wear out in the cold. Fat Eric says his mum has a truly embarassing one she wears and William says his mom has one that makes her look like a conehead. They wear those on purpose, you know. Just to embarrass us.

Winter Storm

It was turning into a beautiful spring.
The snow was gone and the birds were singing. Mom was outside without a coat on and we got to go out and sniff on our leashes! Mom put a couple screens in so we could sniff the air from inside. Oh it was turning into a beautiful spring.
Today we are having a winter storm!
No kidding! Heavy, wet and getting deep. Blowing pretty good too.
Dad's been singing "It's beginning to look alot like Christmas, every where you go". He's such a comedian. Ha Ha. He'll pay for it by shoveling later....
Scout is fascinated. It's his first winter you know, and he keeps jumping up to look out the windows.
Mom had errands to run, but nothing that can't wait because she says no way is she going out in this.
Wow! That wind is roaring. But we are safe & warm inside.

The Book Came!

It's here!
Max's new book came in the mail!
You should see it. It's red, and glossy, and has pictures of Max on the front & back.
And we gotted the autographed copy, so there is a personal pawprint from Max and even his momma signed it!
It's got pictures & haiku and our "Ask Max" questions in a special section too!
Best of all, we are mentioned in the dedication...by name!
Oh it's just too cool!
How neat to have your very own book published!
MOM UPDATE: Mom's headache broke at 6pm tonight (Friday). That makes it a 3 day head banger. She feels great now! She wrote a thank you note to all the kitty cuddlers who came to snuggle & comfort her when she needed it most. Please go to the previous blog to read her note.
Thanks everybody!

Kitten = Annoying

Sheesh! Scout is annoying!
Tonight I was getting a nice brushing from Mom. Just us two. Mmmm that brush feels so good on my skin making my handsome black fur all sleek. Then Scout is there pushing his way in looking for attention.
At Stinky Goodness time we each get our own bowl. Mom seperates us in the kitchen 'cause I don't inhale my food like he does. I'm a slow and deliberate eater. You know, polite. But he eats half of his then trots over to mine and sticks his head right in the bowl like he owns it.
He does that with the faucet too. I like to drink from a slow drip at the faucet in the bathroom. Mom lets me. But when I do, there is Scout jumping up on the counter pushing his way in front of me!
He also hides around corners and pounces out at me when I least expect it. I hate that. He gets a hiss & a swat when he does that.
Anyone want 9 month old kitten? On sale this week. Cheap.
