Little Cat Feet
"The fog comes on little cat feet. It sits looking over the harbor and city on silent haunches, and then, moves on." - Carl Sandburg

Lizzards, Blizzards and Other Things
Well, I must correct myself.
It thoughted it was a lizzard that camed to our town and messed things up.
Scooby tells me it's called a blizzard. That's a weather storm. I thought it was gonna be just like that Godzilla lizzard in the movies.
Needless to say I am rather disappointed.
We got about 12" of white stuff from the storm. The snow was heavy and wet. Then the thing called a snowplow went by and left 3 feet of snow at the end of the driveway!
Mom didn't have to shovel because the nice man across the street brought over his snowblower thing that ate through the snow on the driveway and blew it into the yard to make more snow piles.
Momma said that the paper said just to the south of us the biggest snow total was 29.5 inches.
Daddy's plane was delayed in coming home from Flow-ree-dah but he is home now and wishing he was still in Flow-ree-dah chasing the little white ball around with his silver sticks.
The End

'lizzard coming
We are on alert here at our house. The weatherman says there is a 'lizzard headed our way!
I think it's almost here because I can hear him roaring in the trees and shaking the windows of our house. But me & my brothers Shaggy & Scooby are fierce and we won't let any 'lizzard into the house to attack our mom!
Our dad isn't here to save her if it attacks. He took his bag of shiny silver sticks to a faraway place called Flow-ree-da to chase the little white ball around. So we are protecting mom and on high red alert!
It gets cold when the 'lizzard comes. But we gotted that new furnace last week and it won't let us down like the old one did. 'Lizzards also leave lots of white stuff on the ground for the beans to move around so pretty soon mom is going to say "Oh my aching back" and moan alot, cause that's what she always says when the white stuff falls.
Back to guard duty!

Is Scout Mute or Just a Quiet Cat?
Mom wants me to ask my blogging friends and their beans if they have ever heard of a cat who can't talk. (Ok, can't meow.)
Scout is the quietest cat we have ever seen.
He makes no sounds. He doesn't meow when he's looking for food or treats or when mom comes home from shopping. Sometimes I just meow to say hi or to ask for a brushing. I meow like crazy at her when she sleeps too late! I make my needs known, let me tell ya!
Scooby meows & meows while he checks out the house twice a day on his rounds. He goes from room to room and window to window meowing and telling everyone he's on patrol.
Scout is almost spooky. No sound. He just sits and watches everything. He will be watching birds out the window and open his mouth like he wants to chitter at them but nothing comes out. Mom thinks she's heard him say "eep" once when he was stalking squirrels out the window.
To ask for food he rubs around moms ankles...or who's ever standing in the kitchen. I meow & run to the cupboard and jump and meow, meow, meow when I see the can in her hands.
He'll jump me to rassle and while I make all kinds of yowling and fighting sounds, Scout says nothing. He won't even speak up when his tail gets stepped on!
He purrs just fine, but we think that comes from a different mechanism than the voice. He certainly isn't deaf. He can hear a can of stinky goodness being opened from the other side of the house!
What do you all think? Could he be mute or just a quiet cat? How much do all of you talk and voice your opinions to the people?
Mom says if she remembers she will ask the vet on his 2 year old check up, but she's just been curious lately.

We're Warm Now!
This week we gotted a new furnace.
A furnace is the big growly thing that lives in our basement.
Our old one was not being nice anymore. The job of a furnace is to keep us and the fambly all warm and toasty in the winter. Our furnace got all old and crotchety and kept refusing to work. And Mom had to keep going downstairs with a match to light the old things pilot light. This is not good when it is the coldest weather of the winter outside. Mom said us cats & the guinea pigs are fur-bearing mammals and can keep warmer than people can. Well, when the heat goes out it the night it don't matter if you are people or cats, it's cold!!
So, dad gotted a new furnace ordered for us and the worker men came to put it in. It took 6 hours and they had to make new duck work (huh?) and new gas lines.
Anyway they banged around and went in & out of the house a squillion times. Scooby was getting real irritated with strange men in the house, but one of the men petted me and said he has a kitty at home and that I look like his buddy's cat. I even helped snoopervise their work a little.
Finally they left and now we are warm all the time.
The end.

Good Idea, Magoo
Magoo had a good idea about dealing with my Mom regarding this stupid diet:
"What you need to do is find a way to carry a small plate, a fork and a knife and place them outside the Guinea Pig cages.
Then tell her if she isn't going to feed you properly, you are going to start eating at the Buffet!"
As you can see from the above picture, Scout is all for the idea, and he's not being forced to diet!
