Little Cat Feet

Shaggy and his littermate brother Scooby came to live with us in October 2005, when they were 5 years old. Scout arrived in 2006 at the age of 6 weeks. Scooby passed over very suddenly to the Rainbow Bridge on April 1, 2012 and is remembered fondly and missed deeply.

Zolie Girl Gets Close

Mom leaned out the window of the sun room and got this rather blurry picture of Zolie. She will sit on the railing right up close to the windows, look into the house and watch us.
Mom was hurrying because she knew Zolie would be spooked by this action and had to get the picture quick before she moved. It was a nice day and the window was already open, not needing a screen because the bugs aren't out yet.
And Zolie did jump down right after she took it.
She is such a gorgeous girl and has filled out nicely since mom trapped her and had her spayed last summer. Her furs are especially luxurious.
She was on the deck last night washing her nether regions right in front of the sliding door last night, and has been lying in a nest mom made in the wheelbarrow in the garage without running every time the door opens. Feeling more comfortable to just watch the people come & go.

Spring is Springing

Like most places this year spring is coming early. These pictures were from last week. This week it has turned colder, you might say more seasonal, but at least it's not winter.

Mom said she should have started her allergy nasal spray when she came home from Phoenix two weeks ago, but who would have thought the trees would begin leafing out already.

There are shoots of green things coming up in the raised flower bed next to the east wall of the house.

And look! I was able to nom some green grass and barf it up!

Posing With Stuff

Pictures of us just hanging out.
These were from last week while we were still waiting for the new furniture.

We like the new stuff, but it's not as squishy soft as the old was. Mom says its nice to have firm cushions that aren't all broken down. But broken down is comfy and we are a little unsure of jumping on the new stuff because it doesn't feel the same.
The pictures yesterday washed out the fabric of the chairs. They look candy striped red & green in the picture, but they actually are more of a merlot & sage green color.
Anyway, mom says home is back to normal now and she likes normal.
Then she goes & poses pillows against my belly.

It's Here!

Look what came!

They must have heard our complaining meows all the way downtown so the upholsterers brought back our nap spots.

It passed our inspections.

The cushions are nice & firm.

The fabric is more durable than the old stuff so it will stand up to the sun that comes into the room.

Look! The backs are just right to lay on and see out the windows again!

Do you know what the first thing mom said to us was?

"Nobody better be yakking on this stuff now."

Heh. We'll see about that.
And re-furring it too.

Nappus Interruptus

Do you remember the people sent our sun room furniture away to be reupholstered? Our favorite furniture that we spend much of the day napping on? See the last picture? March 12? There is no chair at all in that picture! That was last week!

It's been 4 weeks and it isn't back yet!

The people were told it would take a little longer than usual because the fixer upper store was out of the fabric they chose and it had to be ordered. It's been 4 weeks!

True, Mom & Dad were gone to Phoenix for 2 of these weeks.....but what about us? Our nap strategy is all out of kilter and we are sorely lacking in suitable napping spots.

There is a possibility it may come back this week, but we're not betting our treats on it.

Mars Visits, Eats our Treats

What nice weather we've been enjoying. Nearly 80 today at our place!
These pictures are from a few days ago.
Do you remember the orinch cat from next door? That's Mars. He has a crush on mom and when he sneaks outside he always comes over to see her.
Or it might be because she gives him treats.
He was loving the sun too.
And the treats.
Our treats.

Toby Too

Hi Toby!

Toby is glad Mom & Dad are back home too.
When he heard Mom's voice as she came in the door, he started wheep-wheeping in his guinea piggie language and he greeted her by standing up on his little back legs to have his ears rubbed.
And to beg for a carrot.
Which he got.
He has a high cuteness factor and knows how to use it. We don't hold it against him. After all, if you've got it, flaunt it.

HOME!

In order to maximize their time mom & dad took the latest plane out of Phoenix they could and didn't get home until nearly midnight!
I will admit it, Scout & I met her with headbumps and shin rubbings. Scooby stayed down in the basement and Mom had to hunt for him. When he saw her he allowed some pettings then he made sure she followed him into the far end of the basement where he showed her that there was water all over the floor. It probably was meltwater from the heavy wet snow we got last week (and she missed out on.) Water seeps in when the ground gets saturated and its a real pain in the patoot. Men and machines are coming in the summer to fix it. Anyway, Scooby scored points by showing them the mess. Dad hauled out the wet vac and sucked up the water. They didn't get to bed until around 1:30. Throw in the spring-ahead time loss, jet lag and airport hassles and they are a couple of tired people today.
After they were tucked in, we marched all over the bed meowing and keeping them awake until mom gave in and fed us some stinky goodness!
Here's us today, relaxing now that they are home. I'm under the table directing this blog while Scooby is crashed on moms swimsuits. After Scout woke up there was playtime with a new fish wand toy. Yes, a new toy! Mom's busy today doing laundry, and vacuuming up a lot of cat hair.
Back to life, back to reality.

Kitties! Listen Up!

The Mom & Dad are coming home Sunday! That's the day after tomorrow-a mere 216 sleeps from now!
It's been a great 2 weeks with all of you popping in & out of here to party, nap, nip and chillax but look at this place........!
After two weeks, things are literally a bit on the hairy side, if you catch my drift.
One more big blow out party tomorrow (Saturday) then we need a big time effort from all of you to make it look as if nothing out of the ordinary happened here in their absence.
Don't make it too spotless, or mom will catch on right away. Leave a couple yaks here & there and some fur piles around and she'll be none the wiser.
She may not notice anything at all actually.......I'm catching some vibes that Mom is really missing us these last 2 weeks (especially the last 4 days) so we're going to play on the sympathy card and put her on a massive guilt trip for leaving us like this.
--Thanks kitties! Shaggy
