Little Cat Feet

Shaggy and his littermate brother Scooby came to live with us in October 2005, when they were 5 years old. Scout arrived in 2006 at the age of 6 weeks. Scooby passed over very suddenly to the Rainbow Bridge on April 1, 2012 and is remembered fondly and missed deeply.

Windy!!!!

It's super windy here today!
25 - 45 miles per hour gusts going on.
We always get agitated when the wind is roaring like it is.
Scooby especially will pace and yowl.
Even worse, it's noisy truck day (aka garbage day) in the neighborhood so its double nasty out there!
Some days are just too scary to face.

Go Vikings?

Mom & Dad went to...ummm....one of their favorite bars for....ummm...adult beverages and hamburgers last Friday.

It just so happened the Vikings Girls showed up to play Vikings bingo and hand out free Vikings junk.
Now Mom & Dad aren't particularly interested in football, hockey is their game, but they put up with the Vikings and their fans every year. Can't avoid it in a pro football town. So they stayed at the bar because it was a fun crowd and the burgers are cheap.

They brought home their freebies which they tossed to us and we enjoyed for their play quotient. The purple beads were fun. they wiggled and jiggled across the floor and were fun to bat when mom held them up . The purple bracelet was ok, but not as much fun to bat around. That's Scout ignoring it in that terrible picture. But it's fun to toss around.
Gotta get the camera fixed or replaced. The shutter speed is all screwed up.

Satellite Sunday

*slowly creeping out from under heavy furniture*
Hi everyone!
Just wanted to let you know we are all safe out here in the northern Minneapolis suburbs!
The wayward NASA satellite did not fall on our house!
We hope all our kitty friends are safe from imminent disaster too.
-Scout

*slinking out from behind the bed*
Heh Heh.
I was just taking normal precautions.
Wasn't scared in the least.
-Shaggy

*sauntering up from the basement*
Is it all clear, guys?
It's safer below ground, you know.

Good Times

All tired out from sailing the Seven Seas in search of booty and wenches!
Meow Like A Pirate Day was awesome and all our kitty friends had great ideas to celebrate it. We are still talking like pirates a little bit today from all the pirate talk of yesterday.

This was a day a few weeks ago Mom caught me napping on the chair in front of the window with sun coming in. None of that today....it's windy & really cooling down. But at least we can remember it from pictures! -Scout

Arggghh Mateys

Tis Meow Like A Pirate Day and I be plannin' a mutiny. Ahoy mateys! I be Scooby the Silent and woe betide all who underestimate the power of the Silent! Shiver me timbers, I be a swashbucklin' buccaneer and me time has come.
Me brother Shaggy and that little scallywag Scout thinks they be runnin' the ship, but there be trouble brewin' on the poop deck if we don't hose it off soon.
Scout be pullin' his own mutiny against Sir Shaggy the Rotund these days. Sir Shaggs be Cap'n of this vessel since the day we boarded it. Then comes the dire day when the youngster Scouty the Bold came on as Cabin Boy. 6 weeks old he were, and he be slowly takin' over this vessel ever since. He say Sir Shaggs be aging and 'tis time a younger mancat be steerin this ship into the Seven Seas in search of booty and plunder.....gold doubloons hid on a secret island made entirely of nip!
He be jumpin' and chasin' Sir Shaggs every chance he git, tryin' to weasel his way into control of this fine, grand vessel.
Now it be Scooby the Silent's turn at the helm. Trouble be afoot when least expected and soon it be me time, me vessel, me larder full of Stinky Goodness. The wench be mine to do me biddin'. Wench.....bring me grog! Piratin's thirsty work! Come scritch me ears whilst we be reviewin' ye olde treasure map. X marks the spot! Scouty the Bold be walkin' the plank mighty soon, a short walk to Davy Jones locker..... mark me words, he be a scallywag! Aarrggghhhh!

Flowers for Carol

Our friends over at the Katnip Lounge blogged about their yard and flowers for Garden Thursday.
They showed their pink cosmos flowers. We have cosmos too!
Ours are vivid orange, and we should have taken a picture weeks ago when they were in full glory. They are finishing blooming and we got an early frost last night so that might finish them, but they are next to the house so they might have escaped.
The cool thing about our cosmos is that mom got the seeds 25 years ago from dads brother who is an avid gardener. He said to collect the seeds each fall and sprinkle them around in the spring. And that's what Mom has been doing for 25 years. These are descendants from those original seeds! You can see the spiky seeds in the background of the 3rd picture.
Our Mom is no gardener and the soil in this raised bed by the side of the house is pretty bad, but those brave little flowers come up each year without fail and are always so bright and cheerful by the end of summer.
These flowers are also posted in remembrance of Mom's sister Carol who passed away December 23 at the age of 60. Today is her birthday.

Lazy 'tocks

Mom!
Time to do a new post!
Get off your lazy 'tocks and lets get to it!

This posting old pictures of us isn't going to cut it much longer either. Check the camera manual and try to re-set the thing or get a new one.
Do you realize how many pictures of us you could be taking but are missing every day???

Fall is in the air today. 80's up until yesterday, today 60. It's still nice in the sun. Mom's going to take us and a book out there and find a patch of sun to sit in.
See what we mean about lazy 'tocks?

Books, Walkies, and Pettings in the Sun

Mom's beginning to feel better after starting her antibiotics. The head and chest are starting to loosen up and she can blow and cough easier now.
They are making her stomach a little queasy this time, something that has not happened before.

They say this is the last weekend of summer. It has been a short one here. Spring was reluctant, very cold and rainy. It seems like it took forever to get to summer and now it is almost over.

Mom's been doing her walkies a lot, getting exercise keeping the weight she lost off and losing more. Over 60 pounds now. She weighs 110. (180+ is heavy when you are only 5'4") There was a rumor going around church that she has cancer! Imagine! She exercises, changed her eating habits by avoiding fats & eating more fruit & veggies, changes her life toward the positive and they think it's cancer!
Anyway, she is catsitting Mars & Tippy the next door cats this weekend and has picked up a couple books she's wanted to read from the library and will spend the weekend reading and petting us while we all enjoy the nice sun outside.
