Guy x Sideburn collab shirt

Guy Martin has been a supporter of Sideburn since day one and we're very happy to announce a collaboration T-shirt with him.

The Marting camp specified the T-shirt, a heavyweight, snug-fitting, 100% Combed Cotton Interlock 240g / 7.2oz. Fair Wear Foundation product.

The front has the Chris Watson illustration of Guy on his Pikes Peak class-winning Martek Turbo. On the back is a small Sideburn logo and Guy Martin skull and spanners on the nape of the neck.

Every order for the T-shirt from us also get the front design as a colour vinyl sticker.

Oh yeah, and those new stickers are Chris Watson's interpretations of me (Gary) racing my Wood Rotax in the DTRA and Ben 'Poncho' Part racing his Yamaha XS650 chopper at Dirt Quake. Self-indulgent, I know, but we've given up waiting for our Arai replica lid, Vans signature shoe or even our name on the side of can of Diet Coke, so we did it ourselves.

Street Rocket

We've got hold of a few of Street Rocket shirts in extra small. This size sold out in a blink. This is the only kids size shirt we ever did and we got the sizing a bit wrong. We should've made loads more in the tiddler's sizes and fewer for teenagers. As it is, it's nearly sold out across the board now.

This design appeals to kids and adults.

XS is suitable for a 5 year-old. It's 39cm from armpit-to-armpit. 50cm from back of the neck to the hem.
UPDATE: The XS is now sold out. We have a few of the other sizes. Thanks to those that ordered so quickly.

M is sort of 9-year-old.
L 10-11-ish lad or a waif-like supermodel.
XL is teen, slim chap or a lady.

Magnetix at Wheels and Waves

Wheels and Waves had all the ingredients I want from a bike show, including a good mix of music. The Saturday night party was at an open-air bar/restaurant. The drinks were an arm and a leg, but the setting was worth it. I was upstairs eating foie gras and drinking wine when I heard the band come on. I made my excuses and left for the stage. 

Magnetix are a French duo, originally from the Biarritz area, I think. They put on a great show at the back of the open-air cliff-top area. Behind them was the ocean, you could just see the white waves rolling in. Look to the right and the lights of Biarritz could be seen. The most memorable gig I've been to in years and that it was part of a classic and custom bike show made it even more amazing. G

 Magnetix, not to be confused with a three-piece of the same name. Lady drummer, geezer vocals/guitar. That's it. The singer had a very strange, but endearing delivery. When singing, he'd contort his face till he looked like the Bug from Men in Black (below). He didn't look like that normally.

 View from the lav. You could take a leak and still watch the band. It's uncivilised and civilised at the same time. Now wash your hands.

No Substitute for Cubes

Framing up a nice big art print is like putting clean linen on your bed, you wonder why it took you so long. Sideburn collaborator Chris Watson sketched my Guzzi, fuzzy logic makes me smile. This is the office wall I've got my back to in this shot.

1) Can't remember where this came from, but it's like a rice sack and humped on my shoulder, stuffed with dirty smalls on the way to the local launderette, it caused me to get pinned up against a wall in Liverpool by a police meat wagon mounting the kerb.
2) Used to collect Francis Debaisieux postcards while on holiday in France, of 'quaint' peasant life, then came across this life-size poster in a petrol station! Wonder if I would have become that old boy if I'd stuck at the rural dream?
3) Fantastic embroidery of an F-15 fighter by Claire Elizabeth Platt picked up at the old Cafe Kino, Bristol.
4) The idea of gardening is wholesome, but I have black fingers. Everything I touch dies. Kitsch Kitchen plastic flowers are a much safer bet.
5) Ultimately dashing Silvio Grassetti on the Monza(?) banking.
6) 948 cubes in felt-tip by Chris Watson.
7) People still give me cautionary grief about this helmet but it's a NEW repro made by Bandit in Berlin. I wear it for short track without a visor unless it's really muddy as it feels too fishbowl with. I'm a fresh air freak.
8) Lewis Leathers road racing boots.
9) Wore a Davida bowl several years on the trot in London. Nothing more comfortable. (yeah yeah yeah, "nothing more unsafe"). Still wear the Dusted one when snowboarding.
10) My Mum paid a mechanic £5 to drag these Peter Jones mahogany glove-box draws (32 of them) out of a skip and up the stairs of our flat in the early 70s.
11) Is it a global phenomenon that when one moves house, it takes Years to finally unpack the last box?

14) Proper Italian water-slide transfer of tiger temptress, and a shot of my brother on his BSA C-15 back in the day.
15) Before downloading everyandanything that catches my eye into countless computer folders, I used to tear things out of magazines and pin it on the wall for inspiration. Seems like rather an antiquated adiction now.

Chris Watson Street Tracker T

Chris Watson originally made this illustration for the Reilly Rocket SB#8 launch party poster, and we immediately thought it would make a great kids T. But turns out the Gildan Youth cut is not dissimilar to the adult ones it's just shorter. So if you are proud of your navel / your tight Bruce Lee stomach, just choose a size up from your regular adult size Gildan and strike a pose like the lovely Giaele here. We sold it to both guys and gals at Verona. BP

Sideburn x Mr Martini Chris Watson art on sale

So, Motor Bike Expo show next weekend. We can't wait and we have a lot of good stuff to sell. We had a few art prints of the Mr Martini poster made on 300sgm card. They're for sale in the Sideburn webshop. They're A3 size - 210 x 148 mm (8.3 x 5.8 in). A percentage of each sale will go to the children's cancer charity, ABEO.
