It's Mashed Potato Time
Oh, yea, off-topic Sunday! There are few things I like more than some well mashed potatoes (and there are few thing more disappointing than a dollop of bad mash in a good restaurant), so I was intrigued to find what Dee Dee Sharp had to say on the subject.
Unfortunately, I didn't catch a word of Ms Sharp's lecture, because I was completely mesmerised, hypnotised, perhaps even emulsified by those backing dancers. Enjoy! G

Flash git
Yeah, we know your game mate. While everyone else is boozed and pilled to the eyeballs, freaking out to brass-pop-a-go-go Beatles pastiches, you're stone cold sober with your predatory Instamatic. Disgusting. MP

Ugly Bugs
The Stags: Incomparable.
Sideburn's house band, The Stags, hosted an Ugly Bugs Ball up in Wigan last weekend. I couldn't make it as I took the current Mrs I to see Grinderman in Nottingham. And as good as Mr Cave et al were, we feel we missed a blinder and so did you. They even had Bambi Le Beau doing an insect-inspired burlesque turn.
But despair no more, because The Stags are playing a Halloween special in Wigan, again (they do play outside Wigan, honestly) on Friday October 29th and we're not going to miss it. More details soon, but start planning your outfit. GI

Killer Diller free to download
Look, if you like Sideburn I'm sure you're going to like this radio show. Sir Johnny Alpha (that's him on the left) is Sideburn's house DJ. And he's put his latest radio show online to download. It's a mixture of 60s garage punk, blues, soul, exotica... You will love it. I've listened to it three times already.

Killer Diller
Sideburn's official DJ is Mr Johnny Alpha. He's been in touch with exciting news.
Hey Gary
Long time no speak man, hope your well mate.
Should have sent you this last week really, I've got my own radio show now going out every Tuesday on Wireless FM 10.30 till the midnight hour GMT (that's an hour earlier than British Summertime and what the hell for the States or Aus).
I will have a website set up with archived shows on in the next couple of months, but for the meantime your just gonna have to tune in :) Johnny
The show is described as this 'Surf, 60s Punk, Rock n' Roll, Soul & Exot-a-billy, these are some of the thrilling ingredients in DJ Johnny Alph'as Killer Diller voodoo music gumbo, made weekly in his secret hideout out of old & rare 45s.'

Johnny Alpha in the Go-Go Cage
There's a new mix to download from Johnny Alpha (and his Liverpool Go-Go Cage henchmen, Carl and Andy). It's all 60s garage punk, go-go tunes and 50s sleaze. It's putting a smile on the face in Sideburn HQ today.
Click the Johnny Alpha link below for more links to mixes.

King Khan at The Dirty Water
Great show. Eight band members (Khan, keyboard, bass, guitar, drums, trumpet and two saxophones), plus a very Diana Dors-esque go-go dancer dressed like Tura Satana from Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill. All on a stage the size of a good kitchen table.
There was a voodoo stick; good looking crowd of bleached, primped, preened, smashed, tattooed and moustachioed misfits (who were fairly enthusiastic as far as London goes); fantastic music; call and response and the great request, from King Khan, for the audience to 'Clap your hands together... Clap your tits together... Clap your balls together!'
Start practicing that and see them when you can. GI
