Win a Mutt

One of stockists, Monday Mo Co (in the West Midlands No-Go area) has a great offer on at the moment. Spend £100 or more with them and you'll get entered into a competition to win one of the neat Mutt 125s. Benny Boneshaker developed this little Chinese made entry level bike. I've ridden on around the green lanes on trials tyres and it's a fun little thing.

They stock Deus, Red Wing, Pike Brothers... It won't be hard to spend £100 if you've got it. It works for online purchases.

Closing date is the end of June... Got to Monday Mo Co. Good luck! G

No-Go Area

In December Sideburn went to the new Monday Mo Co shop in Birmingham for a low-key shindig and mag launch. Little did we know we were braving a Al Qaeda hot spot, a no-go area for non-Muslims and were at risk from a beat down from a 'police' force enforcing sharia law. If only we'd seen this well-informed and expertly researched Fox News report before (below).

We weren't the only people to dodge the fundamentalist snipers' tracer fire and flag-burning mobs. Luke came down to check out the scene and wrote a little report for We Are Union. These photos are from there.

We steer clear of politics on this blog, but in all seriousness, watch the clip below and realise it's not a joke.
It's obvious all mainstream news is some kind of propaganda, but can you believe the shit fed by 'serious' news channels.

Birmingham is great! Long live Monday Mo Co, too. G

Monday Mo Co

Thanks to everybody who braved Baltic temperatures and came down to the Monday Mo Co SB#19 launch party on Saturday. It's an impressive set-up. Theres a great vibe going on in Digbeth, The Custard Factory was buzzing. They will of course be stocking Sideburn from now on, so if you are local go check em oot. BP

This brand new shop is co-owned by a few people including Benny Boneshaker and people from the creative agency, I Love Dust. It sells Biltwell, Deus Ex Machina, Sideburn magazine and a bunch of other stuff including their own T-shirts.

WHEN: 1 - 6pm, Saturday 6 December. With motorcycle films being shown in the Mockingbird Theatre and Bar next door till 11pm.

Anglo-American

I inherited some tools over the summer, all sorts, but these two go well together, a Transatlantic brutal twosome, damaging in the wrong hands. Pre-Irwin Vise Grip, made by Petersen in DeWitt, Nebraska (patented in 1924, the British Mole version didn't appear until more than 30 years later). King Dick adjustable made in Birmingham, England. King Dick (settle down at the back) started off as The Abingdon Works Co. in the mid-19th century and over the years built various single and V-twin motorcycles and engines under the Abingdon and King Dick names until the early 1930s.
