Vintage Speedway at Gran Ferro

From our friend Raffaele in Venice, Italy...

 I did this little video about the speedway exhibition during the next Gran Ferro event: 


With my friend Biagio of "Scuderia del Sale", we'll show a speedway bikes collection of nine bikes (SR4, Eso, Jawa, Weslake...), a gallery of mr. Tomba pictures, a singular handmade press review of seventies and an old collection of video copied hundred times from vhs to dvd... but very interesting (only italian races of seventies). 


Gran Ferro is overall a friendly meeting of cafè racer and something more. Stefano "Ottonero" organizes a special bikes contest. I think could be present Roberto Totti with his "Gran Ferro", Royal McQueen (Royal Enfield store in Bologna), also an Alfa Romeo GT of "Scuderia del sale" that could race the next year in Bonneville... 


 I think you are very busy for Dirt Quake, everybody is talking about. I'm following the news on your blog. Great work. Cheers, R.

Totti Gran Ferro

A radical masterpiece from Totti Motori that I saw at EICMA. I've got to be honest and say I can't place where the motor is from. Check out the radical fork design.

Verona Expo snaps part 4

We've been a fan of the leftfield cross-genre / cross-gender bikes of Roberto Totti forever, so it was an honor to finally meet him, and his lovely wife Cinzia - and share 1.5 meters of Pizza with them. His looney tango'd 2-stroker won the Best Street Bike prize. BP

Fine Art Dirt Collection

Our friend Alberto Narduzzi sent us this invite, but we can't make it. Pitti Uomo is, I think, a huge fashion show in Italy that has exhibitors showing their ranges (inc streetwear) to buyers. Alberto, Mr Martini and Roberto Totti (along with great Italian bike mag Riders) has some sort of bike and photo exhibition there with Italian shoemaker Alberto Fasciani.

'So?' you're thinking. Well, if you're in the business of promoting race series', getting bikes into the consciousness of people with marketing budgets has got to be a good thing. The Mefo guys had Dickies as a sponsor and the ORS got Red Bull on board. All of European flat track is run by enthusiasts, no one makes a bean, so if things like this gives the race and event organisers an 'in' then it's got to be good.

A big weekend

Lots going on this weekend. Paolo and his Zaeta are at the block party the excellent Officine Mermaid are holding in Milan.
Then there's the Lowbrow Holeshot in Ohio.
Alberto Narduzzi and Roberto Totti are at this show in Bologna, Italy.
While the UK short trackers are at Rye House, near Hoddesdon on Sunday. Rye House Directions. This is the closest we race to London.
Of course, you could just stay at home. GI

The Recycle parts can fit only Ducati 93/2005 model Monster, which is one of the bikes more sold and in production since 1993.
Your Recycle motorcycle can be totally taken apart. Once painted the frame and the engine elaborated it will be remounted by hands in the configuration of your choice.

Totti Hot Rod Triumph

Serial bike builder Roberto Totti got in touch to buy some magazines and talk about future features. It reminded me how much I love some of his bikes. Especially this reverse head Triumph T120 he built in 2008. Bella! GI

Totti BSA

From Mick Phillips (who wrote the Cigarette card and speedway hair stories in SB2). Totti is Italy's most prolific special builder. He's tried everything. He usually mixes styles up to create unique, sometimes 'challenging' machines. This is a far straighter build from the bearded maestro. Cheers Mick.

"A tasty BSA found lurking on Totti Motori. Once a 500cc B33, but the motor was brought up to 720 and surely strengthened big time, then slotted into a hardtail frame. Certainly doesn't seem like a B33 rigid, but those shrouded forks look original. Tank is a typical 2 gallon Beesa comp job, such as from a Hornet. Nice alloys, possibly Borrani given that this bike was built in Italy many years back by Roberto Totti, who can't remember much about it except that it's got a close-ratio box."
