Arkham Video Games Scarecrow BootLEGO Minifig

Had to get this BootLEGO Arkham video game version of Scarecrow. They even gave him a wolverine claw to emulate his hypodermic needle fingers!

This guy is just too creepy cool looking!

Get a load of that face. Yech! This is a fun BootLEGO version of Scarecrow and the details are spot-on to the video games. And his quality is top notch for a BootLEGO. Highly recommended!

I've got BootLEGO bats in my belfry!

Looking at BootLEGOs on eBay the other day, I stumbled on to a brand new Bat-lot of Batmen with the new style cowl (I had yet to own any LEGO or BootLEGO Batmen with the new cowl style) and not only that, but the set included some great Batman variants. So even though I was as yet unfamiliar with the bootleg company that produces this lot (Duo Le Pin) I figured the pennies-on-the-dollar cost was worth the potential risk, so I ordered them...and man am I glad I did!

First up is Batfleck. I am pretty sure I will end up with an official LEGO set or two for the upcoming Batman v Superman movie, but BootLEGOS are so damn inexpensive and WHO CAN WAIT?!?! Also, thankfully I now know that Duo Le Pin is pretty high quality. These BootLEGOS are even closer to LEGO quality than the Sheng Yuan and Decool I have previous experience with! This set is just incredible. Don't get me wrong, they are still bootlegs and there are a couple flaws (one Batman head had the same no-emotion expression printed twice...ironic for Batman who isn't one to emote...and this Batfleck inexplicably has a scuba mask on the other side of his head) but...damn they are great. And they cost me less than 75 cents each with free shipping from China! And it only took less than a week for them to arrive! GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Up next: at first I wasn't sure if this were an 'official' Batman or not, it actually took me a minute to realize that this is the Batman: Arkham Knight Batman! How cool is that?!?!

This Batman even has printing on his arms and the sides of his legs! QUALITY! Another fun detail is that Arkham Batman has a calm expression without stubble while his angry expression has stubble. Like in the game, Batman gets angrier and less fresh as he battles throughout the night!

Next: Batman Begins. Each Batman minifigure comes with a batarang, a base and a bunch of pieces to make some little Batmobile/Batdrone or something. I left those out of the shoot because they are really just filler.

Next: Batman from The Dark Knight (in grey.) Some of the Batman minifigures came with plastic extended wings, and some came with cloth capes. I actually did a little mixing/matching to suit my desires, this one may have come with the cloth cape that I gave to Batfleck. Whatever, the whole point of these buildable minifigures is mixing and matching!

Batman Beyond. HOLY MOLEY! This guy alone is worth the low low price of admission! Other BootLEGOers have made half-assed attempts at Batman Beyond, but this is the first correct and screen accurate one I've ever seen. He came with a red cloth cape (another irony, THIS is one that should have the solid wings...in red) but Batman Beyond does not have a red cape, he has red retractable wings, so I left it off the minifigure.

Batman of Zur En Arrh! This is now the third BootLEGO Batman of Zur En Arrh I own (each from a different BootLEGO company. Wow!) We do indeed live in incredible times. I will have to do a side by side by side shoot of this version of Batman soon.

All these Batmen have back printing too, BTW. MOAR QUALITY!

Green Lantern Batman! Another wonderful and surprising addition. Now that I think about it, this guy had a cloth cape, so I switched it out with Batfleck. He looks better with solid wings (although they would look better still in green. GL Batman also came with flesh colored hands...weird...so I switched them with some spare black hands (BootLEGOS always seem to come with additional hands.)

Last but...well...least...is Space Batman! I think this Batman appeared in the LEGO Batman 3 video game. He has a normal face and a space face but the 'normal' face is weird because it is printed on the white plastic head. No skin tone. He looks more like Batzarro with the other face. So I'm sticking with space face!

Man, what a set! The quality of Duo Le Pin is incredible, even the cloth capes are better than anything I've experienced from BootLEGOS to date (while still falling short of LEGO quality...but not by much.) The unique characters and the use of the new style cowl makes this set a must have for anyone who likes to dip their toes in the BootLEGO pool from time to time.

Harley Qwednesday :: Arkham Knight Harley Quinn POP! by Funko

I suppose it shouldn't surprise me anymore that when a new version of Harley Quinn pops up in pop culture, a POP! version isn't far behind. (Epiphany: a Margot Robbie Suicide Squad Harley Quinn POP! is pretty much a guarantee at this point!) But the Arkham Knight Harley Quinn Funko POP! vinyl figure caught me by surprise when I saw Funko tweet about it the other day. Looks like I need to get my hands on another POP Harley Quinn! She's so cute!

Arkham Knight Batmobile :: Hot Wheels New for 2015

I don't follow Hot Wheels as closely as I used to, so I was surprised to learn of the recent release of the Arkham Knight Batmobile, and even more surprised to find it not long after hearing of it's existence!

Due to the delay of the game's release, we're seeing a lot of Arkham Knight relevant merchandise like action figures and this car months before the video game has even been played by fans.

There's really no 'jazz' to this vehicle, it's just another Bat-Tank. But it's a Batmobile, and it will be the first playable Batmobile in the Arkham video game series, so it should be pretty awesome. If I played with my Hot Wheels I know this one would be fun too. It isn't pretty, but it gets the job done.

The Arkham Knight Batmobile is part of the New for 2015 HW City series and is numbered 61/250.

I Hate Harley Quinn! :: DC Comics Multiverse Arkham Knight Harley Quinn

Man I am so sick and tired of Harley Quinn.

'Wah wah Mr. J wah wah true love wah wah wah!'

Oh just shaddup, get a tan and get over yourself you overrated two-bit Joker Goon!

April Fools! I love love LOVE Harley Quinn, ya' doofuses! And I always will!

Anyways, I finally found the Arkham Knight video game version of Harley Quinn in action figure from the DC Comics Multiverse toyline.

Batman: Arkham Knight's Harley Quinn looks pretty good in action figure form.

The quality of paint applications on her face can vary from figure to figure; fortunately there were two on the shelf when I found her so I was able to pick up the best one.

Harley Quinn comes with a character appropriate giant mallet - and on one side is molded the phrase 'Your Face Here.' It's nice that Mattel included this mallet, as they tend to scrimp on accessories across the board. It's even nicer that there are fun details on it and it isn't just a lump of generic brown plastic.

The opposite mallet face has three red diamonds embossed on it. Another nice, unexpected detail.

Sadly Harley does not have elbow articulation, so poses with the mallet are limited. She does have wrist articulation, which is surprising. She also has knee articulation, hip articulation, an upper knee rotating cut and neck articulation.

Harley Quinn has been on shelves for a few months now. If you are having difficulty finding Harley Quinn at retail (like I was), check your local Walgreens (like I did.) You might just get lucky!

I can't wait until the Arkham Knight video game comes out. Also available will be a Harley Quinn themed DLC wherein you can play as Harley Quinn herself in an attempt to break Poison Ivy out of jail.

Good times!

Batman Animated Harley Quinn from DC Collectibles :: Harley Qwednesday

DC Collectibles just unveiled a look at a slew of new action figures and statues coming soon (and to be displayed at SDCC 2014) but who cares about all that other junk - what's important is this upcoming Batman: The Animated Series / The New Batman Adventures Harley Quinn action figure! A thing of sheer beauty, I believe this Harley Quinn action figure is due out December 2014. This will be mine!

Also revealed, and relevant to our interests here, was the Batman: Arkham Knight  Harley Quinn action figure. The face isn't as cute as the source material, but I will probably still pick this one up anyways.

So that's your latest Harley Quinn action figure news - very late on a late Friday night. Because Harley Qwednesday isn't just a day: it's a state of mind!

Harley Qwednesday :: Arkham Knight Harley Quinn Cosplay

Get an eye-full of this Arkham Knight inspired Harley Quinn cosplay by Aridyabolika on deviantArt.

Images of Harley Quinn in the forthcoming Arkham Knight video game hasn't been around for long, but it's no surprise that it is already inspiring some great looking cosplay.

The off kilter police hat really adds a playful flair to this latest characterization of Harley Quinn, and has clearly inspired the cosplayer Arydiabolika in these pics from her deviantArt page.

No officer, I did not see that 'Stop' sign back there.

Smile for the security camera!

Harley Quinn isn't just an American phenomenon either: Cosplayer Arianna Contreras (Aridyabolika on deviantArt.) is from Italy!

Molto bello!

Does this count as police brutality?

Great Arkham Knight Harley Quinn cosplay, Arianna! You really made our Harley Qwednesday!

Custom Playmobil Harley Quinn(s) :: LOEB :: Look What I Made!

Today's League of Extraordinary Bloggers assignment: 'Look What I Made'.

Arkham Knight Harley Quinn
As frequent readers of my blog know, I am rather fond of making Playmobil versions of Harley Quinn. Thanks to the Playmobil Figures series, with characters like Geisha (for the white head) and Lady GaGa (for the domino mask) I have been able to do simple head-swaps and parts kit-bashes to come up with some pretty fun little Harley Quinn Playmobil figures. My latest is this Arkham Knight Harley Quinn, based on the trailer for the Arkham Knight video game, wherein she assaults a police officer and in usual Harley Quinn flair, steals his hat.

'Oooh heaven is a place on Earth!'
I also recently put together an Angel Harley Quinn. This one came about when I found about three Playmobil Figures packs at a Toys R Us while on a road trip. As luck would have it, one was a Series 2 Geisha. I also located a Series 4 Angel and figured 'What the Hell.' (get it?) So I slapped the Geisha head onto the Angel body and Voila!

'The Doctor is IN!'
My 'basic' Harley Quinn has gone through many iterations. This is where she's settled thus far, with mallet and syringe. Because, again. 'What the Hell.' (No pun this time.)

'Just another day in Gangster's Paradise.'
Lastly, my Hip Hop Harley. I just really like this one, so she'll probably stay around for a while.

So that's what I made recently...with Playmobil parts...and Harley Quinn themed.

Look what other League members made:
Cool and Collected made a final stand against his 1979 Alien
Pop Rewind made some slime(r) in the bathroom
GI Jigsaw made a moon playset. Wait, that's no moon.
DI Treasures used a three eyed fish in a most creative way.

Batman: Arkham Knight Coming in October 2014 :: With Playable Harley Quinn! :: Harley Qwednesday

The latest (and reportedly last) chapter in the Arkham video game series, Batman: Arkham Knight was just announced, with a release date of October 14th 2014. Check out the incredible promotional video below:

As if that wasn't exciting enough, Harley Quinn will be available as a playable character if you pre-order the game from GameStop!

Many fans are excited that Rocksteady, the developers who started it all with Batman: Arkham Asylum (and followed up with Batman: Arkham City) is again in charge of bringing Batman and the rest of Gotham City to life. The catch? This game will only be available on Xbox 1, Playstation 4 and PC. Looks like I might have to update my game system this year!
